My thought:
If Aditya has a clear conscience of returning the money, he could have waited on the bench where the bag was left, for a while. Definitely, the man will come back looking for the bag. If Aditya thought it's late to wait, he could have left a note on the bench, about the left behind bag with his contact number without mentioning the money. Then, he is in a desperate situation. Somehow, Aditya's honesty and sufferings reminds of the stories of King Harishchandra who suffered to keep his life's principles. It seems in reality, it's very difficult (and not possible?) to be like King Harishchandra, which we are seeing on Aditya's character in this serial.
