If we are talking about Antara the character, then God, no, who would want Mrs Gupta as a MIL? What a petty and pedestrian woman.

When it comes to longterm imagining the outcome for autistic kids, I think most parents dare not think too far. We are trying to plan financially in case my son cannot take care of himself longterm. And we hope he can be as physically independent as possible so that his life can have some dignity. I want a lot of success for him, but I also want to accept him however he is, and however he turns out to be. And I hope he will have people in his life who understand him and love him. Also, I pray that my daughter never feels burdened by her sibling duty to watch out for him. So much prayer--I bet God has a pain in his ear from listening to me! 😉

When it comes to longterm imagining the outcome for autistic kids, I think most parents dare not think too far. I realise that. The problem is not superficial at all (for the parents)

We are trying to plan financially in case my son cannot take care of himself longterm. And we hope he can be as physically independent as possible so that his life can have some dignity.
All parents keep some money for their children but that's upto a point. In case of special children I understand how much more they have to provide for. So that he never lacks anything after them.
I want a lot of success for him, but I also want to accept him however he is, and however he turns out to be.
I want all the things you wish for to happen Mahi...........👍🏼
And I hope he will have people in his life who understand him and love him. I am sure he will have.
Also, I pray that my daughter never feels burdened by her sibling duty to watch out for him. I had written a post earlier called "The child on the periphery". It encompasses the importance of the sibling throughout the special child's life. That sibling is closely watching how much his parents love this child and he too follows suit. He too begins to love him. And I am sure will take over from the parent when the time arrives.
So much prayer--I bet God has a pain in his ear from listening to me! 😉He will listen Mahi........He will listen

Mahika.
