Well I thought how would I think/feel were I in Angel's shoes? And there the idea was born.

The topic of autism. I was curious to know how they would handle the topic. I like the serial because it has a msg to give, its theme and the adorable children in it.

As smoothly as possible without too much melodrama.

It was the start of the year and I was given the youngest class. It took me more than a week to settle the kids down. I heaved a sigh of relief. After about a fortnight, the kids and I had reached an understanding that there was going to be no crying in the morning when mummy leaves. In a month's time, we were gr8 friends and very entusiastic.

A new little boy made his entry. He was crying loudly clutching the end of his mum's sari. He was the first to come in that morning. As the children started coming in, they saw his sad face. One by one the children dropped their bags and began to copy him. I had a choir of bawling brats and me the conductor of this orchestra was only standing in shock. The mothers and the other teachers took in this picture and were grinning ear to ear.

Once there was this little boy in my class. He has a lesion at the far end of his brain. So his sight is poor and his coordination. Naturally the IQ is low. But otherwise a well behaved child. I had told the kids to prepare for a test. They did the test and so did this little one. Surprisingly, he remembered quite a bit and did much of his paper correctly. I was overjoyed and I filled his paper with stars and smileys. It was worth all the jewels on earth to see that joy on the boy's face. At the end of the day, he came to me and said, "I prayed and prayed to Bappa (Ganapati) that I should do well. I am so happy."

Believe me I was speechless. Where did this trust in the Almighty come from?

Aap ki Antara.....that's the only one I see. Mayb I shall start seeing Rani of Jhansi but not sure.

Well I dont know much about dealing with autistic people. Let's say I have to do something for a little autistic child.

Ummmmmm what would I do.......?

Tell a story. A fascinating story. ....that is interactive, with lots of pictures, colouring and a bit of singing. If the child is quiet ........never mind. If the child is shy ........never mind. Try and get eye contact and then offer to lead or follow.

Something like this...................

The Story of Busy Buzzy Bee

In a beautiful garden

Here is a yellow bee.............................

What does a bee do?

It wants nectar to make honey

So it goes to a big yellow sunflower (start drawing) to sip nectar from

a yellow sunflower

a red rose

a pink carnation

It becomes big with so much nectar, so it goes to the hive and drops it there.

The Queen Bee is very happy and so is Buzzy
