But the motive was different for both na.. Mallik was driven by idealogy , Jadda by greed .. To Mallik , Jadda was an asst and he never thought of him as rival or enemy but to Jadda, Mallik was a stumbling block ...

It is like this ...In Kurudhipunal, kamal who is a honest police officer, trains a man and send him to infiltrate into the terrorists gang ... while on a mission, Kamal gets captured by the gang, who are suspicious that there is a informer within their gang, and due to some reaction from kamal.. The gang immediately zero in on the recruit of Kamal... so in order to allay their suspicion.. Kamal orders this recruit to kill him and prove to the gang that the recruit is genuine .

Something Similar, Rathore can order Rashmi to kill Him so that she can climb up the ladder and discover the brain !! or as happened in Kurudhipunal become the brain and slowly destroy the body that was housing it..
