Anybody remembers the Rajeev Khandelwal show Time Bomb 9/11? That was almost a laugh riot, even before this show came on air. Having a good core team really makes a difference.

Time Bomb 9/11. This show used to air on Zee TV, and had Rajeev Khandelwal, Kay Kay Menon and Amrita Raichand as the leads. Here's a video from their very first episode.

Somehow I was very disappointed - nothing was changed from the original. They need to change few of the things to fit into Indian audience instead of rip off the whole original series from scene to scene.
I am someone who believes remakes should have few changes from the original otherwise there is no point to remake it at all.

However, the cast was good and very interesting and new for those who haven't watched the original.

Nice review. Am glad that the Indian audience who have not seen the original one are liking it..
Since I have watched the original there were some things I didn't like although I am fine with them using the same subplots although there are lot of differences. Aditya's secrets and his family are totally different and new..

The intensity between Nikita and Jai was missing for me, compared to the original pair.
I liked the family part that they showed, duty vs family, that was the most thing that bugged Jack all the time.. I am sure AK will be a great Jack. Will give the desi version some more time..

Indian version of 24 is exactly the same as original 24. Only from episode 13, the Indian plot will change and this is exactly my worry. It is going to be gripping till 12th episode, even though I know what it is going to be,having seen 4 seasons of original 24.
Hope Anil Kapoor has got the plot right for 12 noon onward.

This is, for all practical purposes, an official remake of 24, but with an Indian perspective. It's a huge improvement over TimeBomb9/11, which was a poor copy, and (likely) shut down by Fox. It's how they implement the show that matters. For instance, censorship is much tighter here, so much of the death and harm scenes will be sanitised. The Barkha Dutt stereotype is 100% Indian, as also the subtle Nehru-Gandhi reference.
