Mumbai: TV actors might have had a great time enjoying an extra holiday due tothe Bharat bandh, but it's time to pay the price for it. Since most of the shoots were cancelled thanks to the fear psychosis, the producers are in deep trouble. As most of the shows don't have an episode bank, they have been asked to shoot overtime.
A source says, "Most of the producers knew about the bandh a few days beforehand, but they could hardly do anything. They tried to shoot a little extra but episode bank crisis is not easy thing to deal with. So, directives have been issued to the producers not to give the channels an option to show repeat telecast."
An industry bigwig says, "Most of the producers book the set and the equipment on monthly rent which ranges from Rs50,000 - 75,000 depending on the shows and the extravagance it has. If we look at a rough estimate, the losses would run for more than Rs25 crore."
Producer Sudhir Sharma of 12/24 Karol Bagh that is airing on Zee TV says, "We have a fantastic team of actors. A night before the bandh we shot for long hours and we will be shooting a few extra hours but still telecast deadlines are so close that we may end up paying penalties."
Actor Angad Hasija who is a part of Bidaai says, "I got an off so I could spend time with my wife, daughter and my mother so it was a good opportunity to have personal time with family. But then I will have to shoot long hours tomorrow."
Producer Rajan Shahi says, "All the shows will have double work force and we will have long working hours instead of a routine schedule. Of course quality may suffer and there may be inconvenience to actors and technicians."
