When you wish upon a star...

a) I would have liked to have had more of their conversation. It was so rushed and I would have so wanted to have learned more about them. I think their first conversation didn't have to last forever and it would have given us a chance of learning more about Simi.

2) It would have been fun to have had Abhi introduce Simi to his friends and for them to have noted the age difference between them

3) Abhi and Simi go to a movie and learn about their tastes in films. Not only do we have an age difference but a gender and cultural difference - he's liberal; she's traditional

4) Abhi decides to take Simi to a club - yes, this would be fun. In her efforts to get Abhi to notice her, Simi agrees to go to a club with Abhi. A chance to get Abhi to dance and Simi to let her hair down. However, Simi shows up in a dowdy shalvar kameez only to feel embarassed and Abhi to be embarassed by her...(Abhi apologizing here would have been interesting...). Let's add her students see her there and she, Simi, gets called to the principal's office and nearly loses her job...(that would have been interesting to see).

5) Simi decides to let her hair down one day or get a make over - Of course Abhi notices...and that could have been Abhi's aha moment.

6) Abhi show up at Simi's school while she has class and pretends to be a student at the school - only to tease her.

7) Abhi witnessing the taunts she gets from her fellow teachers and how he confronts them...

8) Abhi and Simi going out and actually getting to know each other - actual conversations as to what Abhi studied, what Simi teaches. It would be great to have had more insight into their characters just like we got the night the chatted on the phone.

9) Abhi talking with this best friend (yes we needed one) about his feelings towards Simi and how to handle them. His best friend advising him...

10) Simi coming to the Tarneja household; Mr. Tarneja getting suspicous and warning her...

11) Simi and Abhi discussing their different tastes in music and then Abhi taking her to a rock concert, after the nightclub, this took a lot of persauasion and it backfires again.

12) It would have been so much fun to have had Simi have a relationship with her sister's and how her sister's try to help her figure out if Abhi likes her. For example, one night at the house, they decide to play a game of 20 questions to figure out of Simi is the kind of girl Abhi would like.

13) Abhi actually encourages the proposal of Nakul for Simi which shatters Simi because she wants to turn Nakul down but she has not good reason. If she does turn him down, she would have to tell the truth and she would not know if Abhi liked her. If she turned down Nakul and Abhi didn't like her, then she would have lost a chance of proposal - she's not likely to get another one again. That's a pretty complex dilemma and one where I would have had some empathy for Simi.

14) Simi tries to make Abhi jealous by pretending to like Nakul but it backfires...(the results could be very amusing). The confession of Simi's love for Abhi would come first when she is so frustrated with Abhi pushing Nakul down her throat that she blurts out that she could not marry Nakul because she is in love with him.

Oh, and we would have Abhi at 24 and Simi at 30 - works out better....
