When I first started watching this show, I thought this was a show about a 28 year old girl with multiple rejections. To make matters worse she's got in a bind forced to marry RB against her wishes. The more she wants to get out of the mess, the worse it gets. The fact she's even repulsed by the idea is even given to the audience members. As a viewer I even had sympathy for her predicament.
After things end with RB, I hoped to see Simi struggle in finding someone, and especially trying to get Abhi to like her because she's fallen in love with him. I thought, now they're going to focus on the challenges of a 28 year old woman in love with a guy who would not give her the time of day when it would come to romance. The slow and subtle chemistry between the two characters was delightful to watch. The chemistry was amazing. I even liked the fact that Abhi was actually 24 years old (or so I believed).I thought we would see some hard work on Simi's end to get Abhi to notice her; get him to take an interest in her and because she had a sense of innocence and lead a strict life, was a sincere and caring person who was fair and just, Abhi would come to like her. Plus after seeing her with her braid undone, he would be totally smitten by her.Instead I was graced with a girl who spent her life sacrificing herself for her family, not to mention the downgrading of Abhi's age and personality, I was like, hold on, isn't this show about a girl struggling to find someone to fall in love with her? I even checked the TV Guide to see if I was watching another show. By the time the third marriage offer from Nukul was annouced, I thought, what happened to the Simi I saw in the first episode? This show is NOTHING about a girl struggling to find a partner in life. NOTHING at all. It's about a girl who sacrifices herself for her family time and time again. She has compulsive problem to continually sacrifice herself for others (kind of like some people who cut on themselves to relieve anxiety). For her, sacrificing herself actually makes her feel good because it gives her the idea that she is a "better person" for doing it. Kind of arrogant if you ask me.Rather than admire these actions as noble, this behavior is very unhealthy. Any person who engages in this behavior actually needs to be in couseling and take some medications. Abhi needs to stop thinking he's in love with her and get her to a psychiatrist. At the same time he might need to have a session for himself. In the real world, a guy like Abhi would NOT fall for a girl like Simi and especially without any rationale. There would have to be something that would be the defining moment for that love. Plus it would take more than a day out and and an all night phone call for that to happen. The CVS duped and deceived us from day one. For the past three months they have fed us with total garbage because they rushed the Simi and Abhi romance out of lack of anything else they could give us. The writers clearer knew very little about romance. So instead of Simi struggling to get Abhi to like her, we've seen Abhi struggling to get Simi to notice him!Ladies and gentleman, Abhi and Simi will get together tomorrow. Simi might make the decision to stand up and speak up. Frankly speaking, after the fiasco these numnuts at Sunshine Producitions have done with the aftermath of Simi's insulting of Abhi and the horrendously shocking electrocution scene, I don't expect anything creative, immaginative or even slightly statisfying. All I can say paisa vasool. We shoud sue Sunshine Productions for damages. 😆
All my thoughts clearly spelled out !! Thanks Laila and Kudos for a well written post 👏
When I think back, I think the sacrifice the 1st time around to marry RB was itself wrong. Everyone is naive in the beginning. She was doing it thinking she is helping her family out. RB didnot turn out to be a deserving person for any girl. This should have taught Simi a lesson.
The character Simi is only programmed with a code for "sacrifice" and nothing else, so what started out with RB's marriage is still continuing the same with Neeraj, Abhi, Nakul, or any TDH guy doesn't matter.
This is not how real-life is. What is the point when one does not learn any lesson fron any experience in life? Creatives are feeding BS as a TV show.

bee i don't think any girl in real life will be that close to what Simi is !!
Even if an olderwomen falls in love with a younger guy and keeping the same senario she will think twice before giving her word to someome that too in open public
like Simi nay elan kiya she wants to accept Abhi's shagun then stict to it madam..
I pity RS since all his efforts have gone in vain
Reperatedly he has been telling her think abt urself and no one else
With a father like Rs who is supporting her atleast one parent is there to support you why are you still thinking of sacrificing ur happiness
Shanti, I know girls who don't even have a father like RS and are pressured into a marriage but still stand up. I know girls who have been pressured into a marriage but both parents are responsible. I even had a friend call me to tell me she was being pushed into one by her parents. Her marriage is a disaster and she and her husband are room-mates - no sex for the past 10 years. The point is, that if Simi didn't have support from even one parent you would feel for her plight, but she has support. So there is NO execuse for her behavior.Originally posted by: shanti05
