When I watch a TV serial, I give priority to the story, screenplay, dialogues and performance(4 primary parts) more than anything else and actors looks and accessories are secondary to me. If every department of a serial making works good then the final product turns out excellent. For me the primary things should be good first and then the secondary. But sometimes the secondary things are so bad that it starts effecting the primary thing. Thats exactly what has happened with the character Abhi.

Neil Bhatt used to look so good as Abhi in this serial from the beginning till Anita-Anuj marriage. Actually when I think back, that is when, I as viewer thought that Abhi was somewhere around 24-25 yrs of age. After his age was made known (22yrs) (Abhi mentioning it to Guruji after Anita-Anuj's marriage) , there was an obvious attempt to make that character look younger to Simi by 8yrs by changing the hairstyle. In the new style his hair are short, hair is parted from the left instead of the right or no parting at all, hair thrown ruffled on the forehead. The new trend is most definitely used when Abhi and Simi are in the same scene since the age difference was made known.
I know ruffled hair is the new trend, but that can be used to make a character look nice too.

Earlier Neil had a bit lengthy hair which was nicely combed, parted from his right and forehead clean. The bit long hair when combed to a side, gives such a nice look, I would like to touch that.

Now the hairs are short, falling on the forehead (like the old sadhana cut), no parting or parting from the left.

I am not a fan of Neil Bhatt, but he is very good performer. Though he doesn't have the chocolatey good looks, his emoting skills make him one of the best on Zee TV currently.

Like I said before I do not like to comment on actor/character's look but I was so bugged with Abhi's deteriorated look that I had write this up.

When Neil Bhatt can look nice, why intentionally make him look bad is my point. Moreover the character he plays, Abhi, doesn't need to look bad(or have average looks) as part of the story.
And as far as looking young is concerned, Neil's Abhi anyway used to look younger to Smriti's Simi even in his earlier hairstyle.
Please creatives give us back that old Abhi.

bewajah,
I have no clue why they did that stupid hairstyle change thing ... But it was very obvious after they gave out his age formally.
Yes, he was absolutely handsome in Anita-Anuj shaadi and also looked so good, like a decent well-behaved boy, 1st time when he comes for dinner to Simi's house.

Great post - aapne hum sab ki muhn ki baat cheen li!

I love Abhi's
intoductory look in the fist temple scene, where in addition to the longish hair and right parting there was wind in the air, oooooooh :-),
his look in the dinner at Sethi's scene,
then at Qutub Minar (I think red and blue suit him best but he seems to favour green),
in the terrace scene (I find few men look so good in crew neck Ts),
Jagrata (with his tan colouring he looks terrific in white),
and AA shaadi (most debonair look and smiles to die for in this one),
visit to Sethi's morning after declaration (if one can ignore the playboy logo!)
Whatever his look, his intense yet vulnerable eyes and million-dollar smile give him a terrific screen presence. Am I sounding like a gushing teenager.... 😳

Bana,
Thanks.
I was grinning ear to ear reading your post. Don't worry, you didn't sound like a teenager šŸ˜‰šŸ˜†
That word of yours "debonair" .. thats the apt word during Anita-Anuj shaadi.
Generally when someone describes good looking people, first I hear anyone say is "big beautiful eyes" ... but this guy doesn't have that at all... small eyes, tan in colour and yet so handsome with that sharp looks and killer smile and why are the creatives hell bent on making him look so bad .. He is the main lead afterall and why are they doing this ...?
Doesn't Neil himself look in the mirror and say, "no, I am not satisfied"?

O yes Bana all my highlighted parts are just too good to be true!!
I was watching the scene when he drops the bell and he shakes hand with Simi at the temple when he comes to meet her the second time and is lost and wants to know the way he looked awesome
And crew neck yes I too agree only few men look good in that.. The red and blue suits him well I don;t really like him in green that is too bringht If it was olive green maybe it wud have been better..

He also and nice side locs inthe preious hairstyle but now thats all gone šŸ˜”

They want to make him look boyish instead make himn look the way he is suppose to be as earlier episodes

Bee , i like the way u have described about Neils hairstyle. Infact yesterday (for me here its 10.301st feb) I happened to watch one old episode where neil /Abhi comes to sethi house ( ritual one- before anuj and anita wedding) I was also thinking that he looked so good and mature in that episode, and now he looks so kiddish and they have made him look horrible with the new hairstyle.
Hope they could bring that same glamour in him back.
The cvs totally changed him after after he proposed to simi. I wish I could give the cvs a knock on their head.
I feel he looks untidy now.and they have completely destroyed his personality. If they had made him look good which would go along with his acting, it would be so nice to see. Sometimed looking at his hairstyle i really get annoyed at him. it looks like he dosent comb his hair.
Honestly ( my personal opinion) i hate a guy/boy of his age to ruin his hirstyle, as at htis age boiys try to look good.
Neil as abhi really acts well, he really has good expression and a very good smile. Normally in other serails they make the hero look good, and here they r the opposite. I hope they inprove his style. as now he is planning to get married.
Cvs pls get away with the boyish looks, its getting irritating 😔
I cant understand y the cvs are not making any improvement in Neils hairstyle.
Once agin Bee , appreciated the way u have described neils hairstyle. (old and the new) .good work Keep it up.
