Padma - you did not offend anybody with even a sliver of sense and the willingness not just to be open-minded but also to learn ... you appear to be a like-minded gal ... now I'm going to have to change my mind about there being a serious deficiency of our type in India (this is traumatic for me ... I have a hard time contending with the possibility of being wrong!! 😆)
I have felt right from the beginning that you are a like-minded girl too. But having said that, Dipa, unfortunately there aren't many like us out here. Well there are a few though and I guess one should be happy knowing that.Life can indeed get a wee bit more difficult if you are different but then it all depends on how you manage to make your way about it without compromising on essential things. I have managed OK I guess and continue to do so and somewhere down the line, have managed to convert a few open-minded students as well. My mother would probably have been happier had I been less "radical" hehe. This will sound like braggadocio, but I have probably forgotten more than many people will ever know ... yet ... the more I learn, the one thing that hits me straight between the eyes every time is how little I know!!!! So when I preach the curative powers of reading, it's because I've been practicing the drinking of that medicine for a very long time ...I used to read a lot too but then that was a very long time back. Now I hardly have time to read. I keep chasing one deadline after another but do manage to watch a few excellent films with a friend who downloads them. From time to time I do read but not as much as I used to before. May be I should start again!!!!
