Ramas, Thank you for the honor. I am very flattered at the trouble you took to do this and that you have considered me worthy of such a compliment. Unfortunately, I do wish to remain private about my name, age and background.
What I can tell you as I never watched Indian dramas until Karol Bagh. I had woken up late one Sunday and my father, an avid watcher of Zeetv and other Indian shows, was watching Pavitra Rishta. I was annoyed and wanted to change the channel but my father was in town and I didn't want to be rude as he was leaving the next day. So I decided to sit and watch the show with him as he desperately tried to explain the show to me (he's a great fan of Choti Bahu too). As soon as the show finished I was relieved, but it was followed by another one - the first show of 12/24 KB. I believed I was destined to watch this show...
When I saw Simi's character I could automatically relate to her predicament as I too had gone through something similar in my life. I loved the horrible Rajeev B. character and thought the whole cast were very natural in their performance and was hooked from day one. After that I got my sister and friends hooked as well and know we have KB evenings. I just loved the idea that for once we didn't have the typical drop dead gorgeous girl (I do think that Smitri Kalra is in fact one of the most beautiful women on screen and her acting is what makes us believe that is not the case) and was struggling to find someone.
It was by chance that I came across this forum and by chance that I found the online versions of the show and was able to catch up with what was going on.
I have tried to watch others shows but none offer such rich characters as KB nor do they have such strong actors as the lady who plays Manju (she's perhaps one of the finest actors on television).
In the meantime, thank you all so much for your hospitality and the wonderful videos, fan fiction and your passion for two of our favourite tv characters - Simi and Abhi.
