Part 5: Living the Divine Love
The days in Vrindavan began to shift, their rhythm now falling in harmony with Radha's inner peace. The seasons continued their cycles - the bright colors of spring giving way to the golden warmth of summer, then the soft whispers of autumn - but Radha no longer measured time by the passage of the world. She had come to understand that the true essence of time was contained in the eternal love she shared with Krishna. This love was her constant companion, her guiding light.
Though Krishna’s physical presence had left Vrindavan, his spirit lingered in the very air she breathed. His teachings, his playful smiles, the way he had made her laugh in moments of sadness, and the profound silence that followed his music were all a part of her. In every step she took, Radha felt the deep truth that Krishna was never absent. He was present in the stillness of the night, in the gentle murmur of the Yamuna River, in the rustling of the trees, in the glow of the stars, and, most importantly, in the sacred core of her own being.
Radha (in her heart, as she sat in the garden): “I have learned to be still, Krishna. In the silence, I hear you. In the quiet of my soul, I feel your presence. You are my breath, my heartbeat, my everything.”
Her heart had transformed. The wild waves of longing, which had once crashed against the shores of her soul, had now settled into a calm, unshakable peace. The sorrow of separation had given way to a deep, abiding joy - an inner radiance that could not be extinguished.
The people of Vrindavan began to notice the change in Radha. She no longer wandered in a haze of sorrow. Her steps were light, her eyes bright with an unspoken understanding. There was a quiet strength in her now, a grace that radiated from her every gesture. When she spoke, her words were infused with a wisdom that transcended mere intellect. She had become the embodiment of the love she had always shared with Krishna.
One afternoon, as Radha walked to the banks of the Yamuna, she encountered Gopis who had once been her companions in playful dances and songs with Krishna. They gathered around her, their faces full of curiosity and admiration, sensing the change in Radha.
Gopi 1 (with a soft smile): “Radha, you have changed. There is something different in the way you move through the world. Your presence feels as if the very earth itself is smiling with you.”
Radha (with a serene smile): “It is Krishna who has changed me. His love is no longer something I search for outside of myself, for I have learned that he is always with me, always in me. I have found him not just in the world around me, but in my heart, in every moment.”
The Gopis listened with rapt attention. Their hearts, too, had been touched by Krishna’s divine love, but many of them still searched for him in the physical world. Radha, however, had gone beyond the realm of the material and had understood that Krishna’s love transcends the body and the senses.
Gopi 2 (in awe): “Radha, you speak as though you have become one with Krishna. As though the world around you is his form, and you see him in everything.”
Radha nodded, her gaze soft but filled with profound understanding.
Radha: “Yes, I have learned that Krishna is not bound by form. He is everywhere - he is the light in the darkness, the silence in the noise, the love in the heart. He is in all of us, and when we love him, we are loving the very essence of the universe itself. That love is not something we seek; it is something we realize.”
Gopi 3 (with a wistful sigh): “But Radha, does it not hurt to be apart from him? How can we live without him, when he filled our world with joy?”
Radha’s eyes softened, her expression serene but filled with an inner strength that came from her deep connection to Krishna.
Radha (gently): “The pain you feel is because you are still seeking Krishna outside of yourselves. Krishna’s love is not a thing to possess or hold. It is a flame that burns in every heart. The longing is not for his absence, but for the realization of his presence, which has always been within us. The pain fades when we understand this.”
The Gopis fell silent, contemplating Radha’s words. They had always seen her as the one who loved Krishna the most - her bond with him seemed to transcend everything. Yet now, they saw that her love was even greater, because it was no longer attached to Krishna’s form. It was a love that could not be swayed by the changing circumstances of the world.
As Radha continued to walk with the Gopis, she passed by a grove where a young calf wandered in the grass, the gentle creature grazing peacefully. She paused, watching it for a moment, and a thought stirred in her heart.
Radha (softly, to herself): “Even in the simplest of creatures, Krishna’s presence is there. The calf, the trees, the flowers, the river… all are his forms, all are expressions of his divine love. We are all his manifestations, part of the same sacred whole.”
The Gopis noticed her pause and followed her gaze.
Gopi 1 (with wonder): “Radha, do you see Krishna in all these things?”
Radha (smiling softly): “Yes. Krishna is not just a boy who played his flute in the fields. He is the very soul of this universe, and when you love him, you love all that he is. The world is a reflection of his divine nature, and in every living being, I see him. The love I share with him is not just for the moments we had in the fields of Vrindavan; it is a love that flows through all of existence.”
The Gopis looked at each other in awe. They had heard such teachings from sages and saints, but to hear them from Radha - who had lived the love of Krishna so fully, so completely - was something different. It was as though her very being embodied the truth of those teachings.
Gopi 2: “Radha, you have become the embodiment of Krishna’s love. You are his eternal Radha, the divine consort who is one with him.”
Radha nodded, her heart filled with humility. She had come to understand that she was not separate from Krishna. She had never been. Krishna was her very essence, and she was the eternal expression of his love, manifested in human form to remind the world of the divine presence that exists in all things.
Radha (with a quiet smile): “We are all part of Krishna’s divine play. He is the dancer, and we are the dance. He is the ocean, and we are the waves. In each of us, he lives.”
As Radha continued to walk through the fields with the Gopis, the sun began to set, casting a warm golden light over the earth. The colors of the sky seemed to reflect the serenity in her heart - the world around her was alive with Krishna’s presence, and she felt at peace, knowing that the love she shared with him would never fade. It was eternal.
Radha (to herself, as the sun dipped below the horizon): “Krishna is the dawn, and Krishna is the dusk. He is the breath I take, and the silence I feel. He is the love in my heart, now and always. I am his Radha, and he is my Krishna. Forever.”
