Chapter 62

"Khushi...Khushi... a voice reached her ears but she ignored to hear it and ran towards the exit clutching tight but he was faster and taking her hand in his he swirled her around.

"Khushi...what's wrong? he asked.

"I just want to go home Sahilji...please. She said trying hard to free her arm.

"Had you been crying? Did Arnav said something? He asked while she struggled in his grip.

"Let go...please. She asked in feeble croaked voice but he hugged her instead but she was too paralyzed in his arms.

"He is a jerk Khushi...you don't deserve him...you deserve better. He said embracing her close to himself.

"Sahilji leave... She said but he was least bothered to hear her.

"I will make things better Khushi...you'll be happy...I promise. He said and Khushi pushed him away. she looked at him with confusion and wiping her tears decided to run away because she didn't had the time to think what he was thinking.

"Khu-... he called out for her but she was gone and then he saw approaching and he ran in his direction.

"What did you do Khushi this time? he asked blocking his way.

"What the f*uck Sahil...get off my way. He spat angrily.

"What do you think you are? You cant hurt Khushi like this? he said angrily and Khushi's name from his mouth made him furious.

"Don't say her name from your mouth. He said pushing him away.

"She is not your anything. Sahil retorted angrily but the building rage in Arnav was 100 times more than his.

"She is my everything and I don't have to tell you that. He glared at him.

"For just a month or two...then what? he mocked him.

"What I have with her...I don't have to explain to a person like you. he seethed.

"That means Lavanya was right...you were with two girls...

"I don't have anything with your sister...and I never had...it was just a plain and simple relationship until she started complicating it by involving her emotions in. he said and Sahil frowned.

"What...

"And better tell your sister to stay away from me and wife otherwise I am not sure what I will doing to her. he spat angrily before heading out towards his home. He needs to be with Khushi right now and it's all that he cares about.

He reached home as fast as he could and as soon as he reached he saw Ajali anticipating in the whole living room holding her phone to his ear and Nani was sitting on the couch looking worried.

"Where is Khushi? he asked them.

"Thank God Chotte you are home...I was calling you from so long. Anjali said takin a sigh of relief.

"What happened? he asked.

"You tell us what happened? Why Khushiji came home with tears in her eyes...Chotte I am telling you if you...

"I didn't do anything Di...she just got a bit upset. He told her.

"Did you...

"NOO...it's didn't hit her... he said and rushed for his room to have a look at his wife. Her door was locked from outside so he sneaked into his own room from the poolside and saw Khushi sititng on the floor with her head resting on the bed as her back was facing him.

"Khushi... he whispered but she didn't acknowledged his presence.

"Khushi...

"Everyone thinks I just used you as my husband to reach her...Everyone will think that I sprea-...

"Shut up Khushi I don't care what the people thinks. He interjected her as she was about to use Lavanya's words for herself.

"But it matters to me Arnavji... she said in low voice and he made her face him and he saw tears in her eyes.

"It shouldn't matter to you as well...we know what is between us...not the whole world. he told her.

"2 month later when you'll divorce me...only we 2 will know the real reason... she stopped herself from saying further.

"Khushi...

"It's hard to explain everyone Arnavji...she said looking away but he took her hand again making her look at him. He genuinely felt bad for landing her in such situation. For forcing this marriage on her, for divorcing her... everything.

"No one will ask you why you left me...but everyone will ask me why my husband left me within in 7-8 months of my marriage. She sobbed. He realize the gravity of her every single word and none of them were false. He hugged her instantly and she sobbed on his chest.

"What if I don't want any of that to happen? he asked and she frowned and craned up her neck to look at him.

"What if I don't want a divorce? he asked and she instantly pushed him away.

"W-What a-are...

"Yes Khushi...I don't want a divorce. He said in a rush.

"B-But... she said in confusion but he interjected her again.

"I don't know Khushi what's happening to me...but its' very strong...

"You don't mean it Arnavji... She said to him in disbelief.

"I mean every single word I am saying Khushi... he told her.

"I don't know what it is Khushi but I need some time to figure it out... he said throwing his head in exasperation.

"Arnavji you are making it complicated for yourself...you love Lavanyaji...

"I don't love her...My feeling...everything I feel...everything I do...it's for you Khushi. he told her getting annoyed that he bought Lavanya in this.

"You can't love and hate the same person. She told him and he so wanted to tell her that he never hated her but he couldn't.

"You love me Khushi...and I know nothing can change that love for me. he tried to bring it on her.

"I-I... she said looking away.

"I know Khushi...I know you do and I agree that I took way too long for me to realize that. He said.

"Khushi...I know whatever Lavanya said was wrong...it had hurt me the same way her words have hurt you... he said making her look at him.

"But I promise you Khushi...no one will ever be able to raise a finger on you...EVER.he said and she looked up at him looking deep into his eyes searching for the feeling she have for him and when she saw that same love in his eyes, she hesitated and looked away. it can't be true.

"Arnavji... She removed his hand and walked away but he caught it again.

"You cant deny it Khushi...you feel the same...like I do. Her breathe stopped on his words and her courage to look up at him faded but luckily his back was facing him. He walked closer towards her as his finger started tracing her arm and she stood paralyzed there.

"What are you doing to me Khushi? he whispered in husky voice very close to her ear as the shiver ran down her spine. She couldn't have imagined how close they were until he said those words to her.

"Arnavji-... she mumbled as he gently rubbed their cheeks together and kissed the nape of her neck. Her moans were driving him insane and weren't helping him in the plans to take things slowly. She took his hand in hers to gain his some support as her legs were turning into jello with his kisses. As his finger sunk into his skin, he lost every ounce of patience in him.

"Say it Khushi...do you love me? he asked while kissing the neck from behind.

Words weren't escaping her lips as she was too caught up in this moment. Things he was doing to her was something she hadn't experience before and she was unable to control herself or her feelings now.

"Khushi...

"Y-Yes... she managed to speak in between her erratic breathes and he smiled across her neck and made her look at him in quick swirl.

"I knew it... he said with excitement as she stared down completely flushed with embarrassment. She just told him she loves him aloud. He made her look up and although she protested but he was adamant.

"Khushi...I will change everything...for you...for us...you don't have to answer anyone anything. he said and a tear rolled down her eye. As he was about to wipe it there was a knock on the door making her step back from him.

"Is everything okay? Anjali asked as she entered the room when Arnav opened it for her.

"Khushiji...are you okay? she asked and Khushi nodded.

"What had happened...Did he say something to you? She asked her and Khushi looked at him.

"Di please... Arnav interjected and Anjali glared him to be quite.

"No Di there is nothing like that. She said in a feeble voice.

"Is that okay? he asked his sister.

"It's okay for now. but if I ever hear you hurting her in any ways then Chotte...

"I know Di... he interjected her.

"Okay so on Khushiji's first success I am going to cook her favorites today. She chimed and khushi smiled feebly. A success which came with so much of bitterness.

"You are not cooking anything Di...moreover we are going out for dinner. He told her and Khushi looked at him with confusion.

"Oh...celebrating wife's success a little more privately...I got it. she said and Khushi felt embarrassed.

"Okay so you to decide what you have to do tonight...and I'll take my leave...I don't want to be the third wheel. She said walking out of the room.

"Where are we going? She asked him.

"Did you heard Di? To celebrate your success. He said.

It all feels weird to her...no matter how much she once wanted hs love and affection but facing his betrayal makes her feel everything like he is doing everthing to cover up for his mess. Those words still echoes in her mind when he never left a chance to call her opportunist. Her wounds are still fresh when he called her gold digger...he might have not realized but his words were more hurtful than any other physical pain.

"What are you thinking Khushi? he asked and she snapped out of her thoughts.

"If we are going then I'll pay. She said and for a minute he looked at her with confusion.

"Are you mad or what?

"I am just making things clear...I am not going if you are paying. She said folding her hand in front of her chest and he huffed.

"Fine. He gave in as he know ultimately is he the one paying either it goes by his card or hers.

"And you better start preparing for the this project...the entire responsibility is on you. he told her.

"Arnavji...I quit...I cant. She said.

"Khushi how are you going to work if one person opinion matters to you so much...there are 100s of mouth and some will always be against you but that doesn't ,ean you should stop working. He tried to make her understand.

"but Akashji can handle this project...

"He has his own different project to look after...and moreover he going Mumbai today... he added.

"But...

"Khushi you grades are still in my hands. He threatened her and she eventually gave in.

"FINE... she huffed.

"And you wont see LAvanya from tomorrow if that makes you okay? he said and she frowned.

"We are not continuing with her project anymore...so she doesn't have to be in A anymore. He said casually and her widened.

"But Arnavji...you can't end things like this...this discontinuation will come with lots of loss. She said in disbelief.

"Nothing matters to me Khushi... he shrugged and Khushi sighed. She cant change his mind now when he has already decided what he wants.

So it was settled, inspite of going to some fancy restaurant, Arnav finally gave in to go Pizza hut much to his dislike.

"Khushi we could go somewhere else too. He told her once their pizza came.

"But I wanted to be here. she said and he looked at her questioningly.

He wanted to spend some good time with her, where they can sought their difference out, not to a place where some bunch of teenager would gather.

They finished off their pizza and they were on their way back home when Khushi's phone rang.

"Hello?

"Khushi...

"Yes Didi... She said hearing Payal's voice.

"Are you busy? she asked in a slow voice.

"No...we are on our way home. She told her.

"Oh Arnavji is with you...I'll call you some other time. she said in a rush.

"What happened Didi...I am absolutely free Didi...we just came out for the dinner. Arnav looked at Khushi with a frown.

"No Khushi...you enjoy I'll call you later. She said and immediately hand up her phon. Khushi was confused with her behavior but couldn't guess the reason behind it.

"What was she saying? Arnav asked.

"She said she'll call later. She said with a shrug.

"See everyone wants to give us some private time but you want to go some crowded places. He sighed.

"Arnavji she sounded worried. She sounded a bit concerned.

"You are unnecessarily worried Khushi...you can talk to her later. He suggested and nodded feebly.

"So where to now? he asked her.

"Ofcourse home...I am tired and I just want to sleep. she said.

"What about ice-cream? he asked.

"It hadn't been even 48 hours you were shivering with fever...and you want ice-cream. No ways. She declared.

"Someone said it right... wifes are the boss at home. He muttered and she blushed sinking down in her seat. She looked out of the window instantly so he wouldn't notice her blushing. He smirked as he caught the glimpse of her blushing.

He saw a little hope and that hope was enough to make him feel that one day everything will be fine in between them.
