CHAPTER 63

"Arnavji...Arnavji...come here... Khushi called him in an excited tone while sitting on the recliner with her Coco in her lap and laptop in front of her while Arnav was he working on his laptop comfortably sitting on his bed.

"What? he asked running eagerly towards her hoping she had something good to show him.

"Extend your hand forward. She demanded and he frowned.

"Don't tell me...

"Just do it. she demanded holding her grounds and he sighed extending his forwards but the moment he did, Coco placed his little paw in his palms making him pull his hand back.

"What the hell Khushi.

"What what the hell'? I taught him handshake. She kissed the top of Coco's head making him lick her face and ARnav's face scrunched in utter disgust.

"That's disgusting Khushi...go and wash your face. he told her.

"That's his way of loving. She told him.

"Whatever it is...I don't want to die of rabies. He said.

"He is vaccinated...and moreover i'll be the one catching rabies if incase that happens...from where are you coming from? She asked him.

"What if I want to kiss you? he asked and her face flushed and she immediately looked away...fidgeting with Coco's paws.

"T-Then I-I'll get my face licked every hour. She said staring back at her laptop screen.

"Really? Don't even tell me you that you don't like it. he said making her sink her face deeper in her laptop so he couldn't watch the blush creeping from her cheeks.

"Say it Khushi...don't you like it? he asked sitting right in front of her as nervousness kept bubbling in her.

"Arnavji... She sighed looking at him.

"What? he frowned seeing the sudden change of her mood as she let Coco free.

"I-I don't k-know how to say this... she began.

"You can say anything you want Khushi...

"It's not easy... she huffed.

"What are you...

"Everything...you know...it's not easy for me...to accept everything...to forget everything. she said and immediately he understood what she was referring to.

"I know Khushi...I understand you...but I trying to change... he said.

"It's not easy for me to forget which happened between us...As your wife when I came here I...I-I never thought you will be handing me divorce papers on our very first night... she said in a rush stuttering on her own words.

"I didn't know anything about you at that time... he said feebly.

"You just didn't knew me...you also loved Lava-...

"I never loved her. he interjected her and she frowned so he took her hand in his.

"Whatever I had with her...was just...I don't know how to explain this...but it was just...I never felt anything for her. he said.

"But that doesn't make this better...you still had relationship with her when you were married to me...and I don't even know you still go and...

"I don't Khushi, I broke up with her a long back. he interjected her and she sighed.

"It still hurts the same. She said looking away and he nodded.

"You know sometimes the words we utter are worse than the physical pain you give to another person...physical pain will go in some time...but those words just stuck in your brain forever. She said remembering the time when he just not once but had hurt her multiple times with his harsh words.

"Khushi... he squeezed her hand.

"I don't even know what I speak when I am angry...i-I just get so blinded with my rage that I...that I...

"That you speak what's in your mind... she added.

"No...No...No Khushi...

"But you said I am a cheap, down market... She slightly choked on her words as she recalled the night when he used these words for her when they had their very first fight.

"I think just after marrying me you forgot your position... I know girls like you very well...you down market, cheap girls can only think about money , property and status...isn't it...but...remember one thing...as long as you are living with me...don't forget that this is MY HOUSE and MY ROOM...and you have to live following my rules...don't try and messing with me again...

Arnav recalled his words as the flashback came running through his mind. Her fault was that she raised her finger at him which had wounded his ego and he uttered those words. He even held her so hard that there were some bruised marks on his arms which she kept hiding from his family.

"At that time, I didn't even know where I went wrong. She admitted wiping away her tears and he felt guiltier than he already was.

"I wish I could go back in time and change everything Khushi... he said.

"I am sorry... he muttered feebly as the words rolled out of his lips. He had never said those words to anyone because he was never wrong in his opinion but for this girl, he was ready to do anything.

"I need some time. She declared and then he nodded squeezing her hand. She needs some time to forgive him, to forget everything happened in the past. He leaned forward and gently kissed her forehead and cheeks.

"I'll be waiting for your answer. he said.

"You kissed me... She said and he frowned.

"Coco licked me and I didn't wash my face. she told him and his bile rose up and he instantly rushed for the washroom to throw up as she giggled lightly wiping away her tears.

"Khushi if anything happens to me... he yelled from inside.

"Don't worry...you'll be fine. She giggled and picked Coco up who was innocently watching the happenings around him.

"Here is your coffee Sir. Khushi placed Arnav's coffee right in front of him.

"Thank you.

"Here are the papers I was told to hand you. s he said places a file in front of him.

"What are they? he asked flipping some pages.

"I don't know. She shrugged.

"Anything else Sir? She asked him and shook his head sipping his coffee and she went towards her desk. He grabbed the file she placed in front of him and scanned the pages. They were the bank statements of his various accounts. He was checking the papers when he saw Khushi's account statement and he was shocked to see no transaction being made in this entire month. He flipped few more pages but still there was no transaction being made in the last month too. He looked up at her and she was working on her laptop. He wanted to ask her about the money but decided to check her entire bank details. He quickly dialed the number and ordered to get him her entire account history which was right in front of him in few minutes. Before asking her anything, he wanted to check first everything before he could ask her anything. suddenly her phone rand snapping his attention at her.

"Hello...

"Khushi are you free today? Payal asked her.

"I am at the office right now. she said.

"Is Arnavji around? she asked and Khushi looked up at the mention of his name.

"Yes he is. she answered.

"Okay, then I'll call you later.. she said but Khushi interjected.

"What happened Didi...you sound so worried. she asked.

"I'll tell you everything...
"Let's meet tomorrow then...I am free...it's Saturday. She suggested.

"Okay...but not here at home. Payal added.

"So we can meet somewhere else...wherever you want. Khushi suggested.

"At your home? She asked.

"SO you can come mine. Khushi suggested.

"But what about Arnavji...?

"He'll be okay...he doesn't mind. Khushi once again looked up at him at the mention of his name.

"Okay..I'll see you tomorrow. And saying that she hang up the phone.

"What happened? he asked her.

"Nothing...I don't know... She told him.

"Why was she asking about me? he asked.

"I don't know... she shrugged again.

"Khushi I was going through the bank statements and I noticed something. He began.

"What? She asked him but before he could answer her their was a knock on his cabin.

"Come in. he let the person in.

"Sir, a client wants to see you...can I send him in? the girl asked.

"Does he have an appointment? he asked and she shook her head.

"DO I have to remind you that I don't see a person with a proper appointment? You work here from how many years? he asked.

"2 Sir. She answered in a low voice.

"Still you have to...

"Arnavji... Khushi seethed and he looked at her in a shock, she finally called him Arnavji' in his office.

"You can arrange his appointment after an hour...his schedule is clear. She told the girl with a sweat polite smile and the girl nodded and left.

"Why do you have to yell at everyone? She asked him.

"You called me Arnav...in office hours. He said with a wide smile and she sighed.

"That's not the point...you could have politely answered her that you can't meet...but NO...you have to be all this rude and ak... she stopped in midway with wide eyes.

"Continue Khushi...I am listening...so where were we...yes...rude and Akadu. He added for her.

"I wasn't going to say that... she hesitated and once again try to stood up to escape.

"Oh Khushi...you cant fool me now... he said.

"You are changing the topic...you have no right to insult a girl like this. She reminded him.

"She knows that I don't meet like this...yet she came...

"So what Arv- I mean Sir? she said and a smirk appeared on his lips.

"Mrs Raizada...you are forgetting that we are in the office. He smirked.

"I am not forgetting anything SIR... she added emphasizing on sir'.

"Khushi...you can call me Arnavji...or I would prefer you call me just Arnav...

"I just want to call you Sir in office... she said.

"Whatever Mrs Raizada...but I like it when you call me Arnavji'...it's exclusively yours. He said genuinely liking when she calls him Arnavji...nobody has called him this...and it makes him feel more loved and cared.

"I have to go and make arrangements in your appointment SIR... She said and ran out of his cabin making him chuckle.

Arnav had to work on Saturday as he had a very important meeting for Monday. He was working from the office and even though Khushi insisted she should come as she is his personal assistant he declined by saying it's not her working day. He double checked her bank statements today as yesterday he didn't got the time and making all the calls possible just to ensure if there is anything wrong in the papers, but the truth didn't changed that she didn't even took out a single rupee from the account.

He wasn't able to figure out how she paid her college fees if she didn't used the money, either she borrowed money from her father or she did something else because Gupta's were not financially strong to pay for her fees where her father was also sick. Mentally making a note that he'll talk to her about it he continued to work.

Here at Raizada Mansion, Khushi had completely forgotten that she had invited her sister until she was on the door. Payal met everyone then she had something important to talk to Khushi so she asked her if they could go to the room.

"Didi you sounded very worried...what happened? she asked her.

"Khushi...I don't know how to say this? She said.

"Didi you can say anything... she encouraged him.

"Is Akashiji back? she asked Khushi.

"NO...not yet...he is supposed to come tomorrow...I don't know exactly...but what happened? Khushi told her.

"Khushi...Khsuhi...I think...she said nervously and reached for her purse to take something out.

"What is this? she asked looking at the brown paper bag.

"I can't to this alone Khushi...I think I am pregnant. As soon as the words escaped her lips Khushi gasped.

"Khushi... Payal shook her.

"W-What are you talking about Didi? Khushi asked her as Payal started crying.

"It just happened Khushi...I don't know...we just got carried away after Papa's death. Payal said in a cracking voice.

"W-who is the father? she asked.

"Akashji... she said and khushi dropped her head in her hands.

"How are we going to tell everyone about this Didi? Khushi asked nervously.

"I am not sure yet...I just missed my periods...I have to do the test. She said showing her the pregnancy test kit wiping away her tears.

"Okay...let's do it. Khushi said and helped her sister out. They both were praying that somehow this result could be negative but they faced disappointment when it came out to be positive. It was getting hard to calm Payal down for Khushi as she was crying endlessly. Not just one but all three tests were positive.

"We have to tell everyone. Khushi said.

"He is not back yet...I have to tell him first. Payal added.

"But...

"Khushi you can't tell Arnavji about this right now... Payal told her.

"What about Ma...you have to tell her too. Khushi asked in a low voice.

"Khushi...I can't do this on my own... Payal said feebly.

"I am with you Didi...and it's going to be okay...Akashji will accept the baby and...

"But what about Arnavji... Payal asked.

"He would be pissed that you both kept hiding it...but I guess he will be okay. Khsuhi said in comforting tone but she herself doesn't know how is he going to react. He loves Akash but this is a big news and he deserved to know it.

"Let's first go to the hospital and get everything confirmed. Khushi suggested but they both knew that this news was true.

After their visit to the hospital, Khushi stayed with Payal to their home. She was trying to comfort her sister who was very scared and nervous. She took out her phone and decided to text Arnav.

I am at home...I'll be late.' She texted him at 4.30 and within in a minute she got his reply.

Is everything ookay...you want me to be their?' he asked and she instantly typed no and send him quickly...he cant be here now. but then she wrote a longer message.

Everything is okay...everyone just wanted to see me.' she lied and replied him.

Okay...you want me to pick you up? he asked her.

no...I am fine. She replied and then she kept her phone aside. She was thinking of all the possible ways to deal with this situation. Payal told her everything how she and akash started liking each other from the very first time they met at Khushi and Arnav's wedding. They both wanted to tell the families about their relationship but something or the other kept happening and they never got the chance. Khush was trying to wrap her head around everything trying hard to find a possible way to fix this situation.

She didn't even realized when clock striked 9.30 until her phone chimed with Arnav's message asking her where she is.

On my way home' she replied.

I am on my way too...should I come to pick you up?' he offered and she smiled internally how things are changing. In the beginning he never liked picking her up or dropping her at places but now he is willingly offering.

No..I am good.' she texted back and packing up her things she decided to leave telling Payal everything would be fine.
