Chapter 60

Arnav's POV

Life gave me thousand reasons to envy that pup who was sleeping peacefully after having my medicines and here I was dying with the throbbing skull. I don't get to blame him completely because I myself made him eat my medicines but I didn't expected my headache to go so worse that opening my would hurt. Khushi was already very tired, she hardly slept last night and in order to seek her attention I unknowingly was making her more tired. I didn't wanted this, but I wanted her attention. She wouldn't let me stand on my own, and all my plans to take my medicines once she would be out of the room went in drains. I was just hoping that she would leave the room fast so I could chuck my medcines and sleep peacefully.

I was watching her working on the recliner. Although she had a concentrated look on her face but I somewhere I was finding it very cute as her hair would come up in front to annoy her. I don't know what this girl had done to me, I was never such an attention seeker but somehow she made me a one. The thing which I didn't like today was her accepting my gift. It was just a gift because she needs it but she is not even looking at the Mac sitting far away from her. I want her to accept it happily and use it...that's it...it's not like asking for way too much. I just want to see her happy. So what it's expensive...I can afford it without a dent in my savings...but she is being adamant like always. I know I have hurt her, not once but almost every day in these 6 months, but at that time I used to think she is just behind my money and status but she proved to be completely different from what I have thought of her and that's what I like about her.

"You need something Arnavji? she asked snapping me out of thoughts and realizing that I was staring at her from a quite long.

"N-No...

"Do you want me to get something for you? she asked and I found it an opportunity to get my tablets.

"Umm...if you don't mind can you get me some coffee? I asked her and she nodded and keeping all the files she was keeping on her laps she went out to make coffee for me and I quickly hunted for m medicines and quickly have them before she comes back and I lay back on the bed innocently. She came back in few minutes and handed me my coffee and I thanked her.

"I am going office...do you want me to bring something for you? she asked like a mother who goes to a market leaving her kid behind.

"Office? But Akash had sent everything. I told her.

"Two files are missing and I need to finish the work today itself because tomorrow if you will be okay I have to arrange your meeting. She added.

"But you can call anyone...they can send the files home.

"No I'll go on my own...moreover I am not on leave. She said and saying quick byes she left me to rest with a strict instruction list.

Don't get up from your bed'

If you need something call HP.'

I'll be back in an hour...you better sleep in that hour...'

Call me immediately if you feel anything not right...OKAY?'

And if you don't reply YES' on her loud and threatening "OKAY' she would keep making her list longer. So as I nodded she left and the entire time I kept thinking of the thousand ways to make her accept that gift.

Third person's POV

Khushi reached AR and rushed for his cabin. She didn't want to leave him like that but she had no other option. She didn't want to trouble anyone else for her work, so she rushed to AR hoping she would reach home in an hour. She wanted him to sleep and rest as much as possible but he barely listens to her. She quickly grabbed her files and was about to leave when she collided someone very hard.

"Ouch... She said dropping all the files and holding her forehead.

"Oh God Khushi...where are you rushing to? Sahil's voice reached her ears as she saw him kneeling down and picking her files.

"I didn't see you or Arnav since morning...where were you both? he asked as he handed her the files.

"Arnavji is sick and resting at home, I just came to pick these files. She told him.

"Always a workaholic... he muttered under his breath. "But it's actually good that you goy to come here...you remember our coffee? he asked.

"Can we have some other time, I need to get home. She asked him politely.

"But Khushi you promised. He told her.

"I know but Arnavji is really very sick and I told him I'll be back in an hour. She told him.

"It wont take long. He requested and eventually she had to give up in front of his requests as he almost spent 5 minutes and thousands of pleases in making her agree.

They were in the cafeteria of AR and had placed their orders. Khushi wanted this to end soon as she kept tapping her fingers on the table.

"Relax Khushi...he wont eat you alive if you'll reach a little late. He said placing a hand over her and she tried slip away her hand feeling uncomfortable with his touch but he wasn't letting her go.

"I promised him to make cake. She told him tring her best to pretend okay.

"Cake? he asked again.

"Yes...his taste buds are completely dead and he wants to eat.. she said and thankfully their coffees arrived and she freed her hand to take coffee.

"Why do you care so much? he asked and she looked at him, completely not getting what he meant.

"Excuse me? she asked again.

"Why do you care when you know he doesn't even love? he asked her. the look on his face was something she couldn't decipher. It was a mixture of anger, irritation and jealousy.

"He's my husband. She reminded him.

"For few more days Khushi...you know this marriage is for hardly 2 more months... he bega but she interjected.

"As long as he is my husband...I will take care of him...and even in the future if he would need me...I would be there for him. she said.

"After divorce, you mean? he asked and the word divorce' itself was enough to hurt her deeply.

"Yes. She said and sipped her coffee and he chuckled.

"I don't know what to call you Khushi...nave or blind...you can't see and judge people...you can't see who actually loves you and who doesn't. he said and she looked up at him with wide eyes.

"What do you mean? she asked him and he looked at bit hesitant to answer her so she was about to ask her again but her phone rang and she saw Arnav's name flashing and she got panicked. He was supposed to be sleeping.

"Hello...Arnavji are you okay? she asked in a rush picking up her things.

"You said you'll be back in an hour...you are late Khushi. he said and she checked her clock that it's almost been two hours now.

"I am on my way Arnavji. She said.

"You better be. He said and she hang up the phone.

"I am sorry but I have to leave. She said standing up.

"Finish your coffee at least. He said but she shook he head and placed the money on her table.

"Wait what's this. he asked.

"My coffee's bill. She said.

"But it was on me. he said.

"No..i like paying my own bills. She told him.

"I'll see you some other day, I need to go home. She said and made her way out of AR to reach home as soon as possible.

It took her 25 minutes to reach home as there was too much of traffic yet she somehow managed to be in 25 minutes. As she reached, she straight away rushed towards their room and saw him sitting on the bed, engrossed in a file while Coco was still asleep but inspite of his usual place, he was sleeping under Arna's bed.

"Did he wake up? she asked him.

"No. he said feebly and her eyes widenend in surprise.

"SO you picked him up and made me lay their? Next to you? she asked him and he didn't looked up. he doesn't to show her this side. actually he was feeling bad for Coco, he unintentionally drugged a poor pup who Khushi adores.

"Someone if getting friendly...I see. She commented and stood beside him and kept a hand on his forehead to check his fever.

"It seems like your fever had some kind of problem with me...when I was here it kept troubling you and when I was gone..

"I still feel bad...and where were you...last time I reached home from office in 10 minutes. He interjected her not wanting her to bring this up. his fever wasn't subsidizing because he wasn't taking his pills not because of her.

"It's because you drive at an insane speed in a moderate traffic. She pointed out.

"I drive at 50 which is not insane.

"You almost killed my Coco.

"His limb barely broke...you just exaggerated claiming he is in some kind of trauma. She felt embarrassed and shy because of stories she cooked to make Coco stay with her.

"Whatever...I am going to make you a cake and you better...

"Rest and not get up from the bed. he completed her sentence and she blushed and quickly ran away making him smile.

She quickly made him a cake and returned back to the room as she had lots of work to finish. As she finished her work, her Coco was up but he was still clumsy and wasn't able to walk properly so Khushi made him sit in his lap and Arnav just kept shooting daggers in the poor pup's direction.

"What happened to you...why are you making that face...you didn't like the cake? Khushi asked as she caught Aranv looking at Coco in anger.

"N-No...it good...I want to give you something. He said and she frowned.

"I am not taking your gift Arnavji... she said and he huffed as she bought the laptop back again.

"I am not giving you the Mac...it's something else. He said and getting up from the bed he took a file and gave it to her.

"What's this...I completed everything. she said with a frown not understanding from where the new thing has popped up.

"You speak a lot Khushi...just open it up. he told her and she looked in the file and as she read few lines her mouth hang open.

"This is a joke Arnavji... she said and he smile at her reaction.

"Do you find me a person who jokes around Khushi... he asked her playfully and she looked at up with wide eyes.

"You are giving me the responsibility of your new project. She asked him in disbelief.

"It was your idea...so you have to work on It. he said.

"But I am just an intern. She emphasized.

"SO what...consider it as your project.

"But Arnavji... she stand up as Coco ran away from their rising voices

"Don't forget your training grades our partially in my hand. His lip curled in a big smile as he reminded her that.

"BUt it's a big responsibility. She said.

"I trust you.

"But I don't trust myself...

"Khushi its not that difficult... he said and she nodded as he came closer to comfort her nervousness.

"You have two days to prepare a presentation. I have called up the meeting where you will be giving the presentation, try to make it convincing. He said.

"Will you help me? she asked in lots of hope looking up at him.

"NO... he said and she looked at him.

"But why can't? she whined.

"As a boss...never...but as a husband I can help my wife. He said with smile and she pushed him lightly on his chest but he hold her wrist.

"You are mean. She said.

"You made me. he said and she tried to free her hand.

"I don't know Khushi...but I feeling something...and that's very strong...I cant help myself... he tried to pour his heart in his semi-confession but she frowned not able to understand his words.

"It's fever Arnavji...your fever is making you feel nasty...but don't worry...you'll be fine. She said and it was his time to frown. Did she really didn't understand anything...?

"Kh-Khushi I mean...

"No...I am understanding Arnavji...you must be feeling queasy, body ache...but don't worry it happens.. she said taking him towards the bed. he wanted to tell her how he feels towards her but she understood something else. Maybe he has to choose his words more correctly next time. She made him sit on the bed and was expecting him to lay down as she grabbed his duvet but he didn't.

"You'll need a laptop now...so you can use that one...

"I am not. she didn't let him complete.

"Let me complete dammit... he said with irritation she bit her tongue.

"It's from the company for it's employee... he added knowing she wouldn't agree to se it as a gift and she huffed knowing she can't win with him.

"But I don't need.

"of course you do...you cant make a presentation on walls Khushi. He said.

"FINEEE...this is what you wanted to hear? she said and he nodded with victory smile.

"Lay down. she ordered him in a pissed tone and as he did she covered him with a duvet.. although she was angry but he couldn't help himself smile as she looked too cute for her own good but all his smile evaporated as he saw Coco trying to climb his bed.

"Khushi stop him...I don't want him on my bed. he told her and Khushi smiled in awe seeing her Coco.

"He is growing up so fast... she chimed.

"Khushi he is getting up on my bed...stop him. he said angrily but he was a bit late Coco for the first time successfully managed to climb the bed.

"Khushi...' he sat up immediately as Coco tried to come towards them.

"You are scaring him Arnavji. She said as he tried to shoo him away but he turned to give her weird looks, can't she see how petrified he is.

"Khushi are you...

"Okay...okay...I'll get him down...but he loves you so much that he climbed your bed instead of my recliner. she said while scooping Coco up who was wiggling in her grip.

"He just wants to be with his friend. she said taking Coco closer to Arnav who immediately jerked backwards making her chuckle.

"Khushi stop doing that. He said covering his face as she kept bringing Coco closer again and again. if he can make her things that annoy her then she can do the same.

"Aww...Coco said he wants to sit on you. she said and even before he could react he found Coco on his laps and he sat frozen on the bed.

"K-Kh-khushi...please. He pleaded as Coco started climbing up. he can handle Coco when he is asleep but not when he is hyperactive.

"Aww...no baby...don't trouble him so much. She patted Coco and took him back up.

"You are going to pay for this Khsuhi...very soon. He said and she once again bought Coco near to scare him and he almost jumped on the bed.

"You know Arnavji...I love scaring you and Coco loves it too. She giggled and annoyed with her he lay on the bed and covered himself head to toe with his duvet. He heard her smiling and he was loving her voice but he cant face his wife right now currently after facing such embarrassment. But she definitely something who could make him scare and happy at the same time.
