UNSPOKEN LOVE

Chapter 59

Next morning when Anjali entered the room she was very happy. She saw her brother sleeping peacefully embracing her wife who was gently caressing his hair resting her head on her palm supporting her body on the elbow.

"How is he now? She asked softly as he walked in. Khushi was startled as she saw her in their room and instantly tried to sit up but he was holding her tight from her waist.

"Don't get up Khushij... she said.

"He wanted me to lie down so I... she said completely flustered.

"I know Khushiji...the tough Arnav Singh Raizada when falls sick wants someone around him. it's his habit from the childhood...he gets scared when he is sick and he wants someone around to hold. He will never admit but he doesn't want to be alone. He would hug Nani or me tightly the entire night. she whispered making sure she is not disturbing her brother. Khushi felt a bit happy that he wanted her in the time he needed someone...somehow she felt good even though he wasn't in senses and wouldn't even remember murmuring her name. it was his sickness speaking.

"He doesn't have fever now. Khushi told her as Anjali checked his forehead.

"He has such a caring wife...how could her stay sick for long? she cupped her cheek and give her a smile.

"Dii... she blushed.

"Well you too sleep for sometime...you hadn't slept the entire night. Anjali told her.

"I am okay Di, if I'll stop he'll wake up again...let him rest. Khushi said. remembering the moment when she just removed her hand from his head just to check his temperature and he instantly started murmuring her name with a scrunch on his face.

"He's a biggest baby when he is sick. Anjali joked ruffling lightly her brother's hair making Khushi smile. Khushi looked at his face and saw peacefully he is sleeping after a painful night.

"I'll give Coco his food meanwhile you both try and rest. Anjali said and left them alone and took Coco along with them who was slightly annoyed for getting his food late. His Khushi's spoiled little baby who knows how to get his ways. Khushi looked at Coco who was running behind Anjali giving Khushi I-hate-you-because-you-don't-care-for-me-anymore look and left and yesterday her Arnavji was complaining how this poor puppy's life is better than his.

Khushi smiled inwardly when he remembered his statement.

Sometimes I think that stupid Coco is luckier than me...he gets all the love, all the kisses, all the cuddles...

Thankfully she didn't let him complete the sentence otherwise God knows what he would have said.

"Why are you smiling? His sudden voice startled her and she looked down to see him staring at her in awe.

"What? he said in a hoarse voice.

"When did you woke up? she asked trying to get up but he had his hold pretty strong on her waist which didn't let her move.

"Just now...but it's seriously it's such a wonderful sight to start a day. He said making her cheeks turn pink.

"How are you feeling now? she asked taking his arm hesitantly which was encircling her trying hard to keep it away but she was failing in her attempts.

"You didn't sleep last night? he asked, his voice still heavy. But this question for a question was really making her speechless. The more she tries to dodge him and his question the more he would bring them up, so she decided to ignore. She checked his forehead to check his fever which was now much better.

"You don't have fever now, is there any kind body pain? she asked and he nodded looking at her.

"You sleep, I'll go and look what's happening? she said squirming in his grip.

"NO he said in a dead panned voice.

"What NO? she asked looking at him in confusion.

"You have to sleep with me. he declared.

"Arnavji...I have lot of work to do. She said wiggling hard now.

"I said no Khushi...you hadn't slept last night and now just sleep...Di and Nani would manage whatever work you have. He said closing his eyes keeping his hard grip on her.

"Arnavji...

"Khushi...just sleep my head is hurting we have few more hours to sleep before office. He said.

"You are not going office today. She declared and he opened his eyes to look at her.

"Tired of working already? he asked in mischievous tone.

"I said you' not I'. she clarifies.

"But who said I am not going office? he said.

"I...and if you want Di and Nani to say the same then I can call them too...moreover you only do what they say. She told him and he narrowed his eyes. is she really trying to blackmail him?

"I have some important work. He said.

"Your work is not important than your health...

"I can work from home then. She sighed at his suggestion. Why he has to work every single day of his life.

"Arnavji...she said in frustration.

"Just sleep Khushi...I don't want my assistant to be sleepy while I am working. he said and closed his eyes again with ease and defeated...once again...she tried to lie next to him with the same ease he had in him but it was very difficult when he is around but as soon as her head hit the pillow she realized how desperately she needed to sleep as she she fell asleep almost the same moment.

A faint noise of her phone's ring reached her ear and she squirmed in annoyance but soon it went dead and peace was back but it didn't lasted longer when once again it started ringing but this time it dead went dead infact someone answered the call.

"She is sleeping. She heard Arnav's hoarse voice.

"No we are not coming to the office...just forward everything to her... she looked at him talking to someone on her phone.

"Who's calling? She asked him.

"Yes...and send all the other files too. He said and hang up the phone.

"Office... he said snuggling back in the duvet. She touched his arms which were getting slight hot again.

"You are having fever again. she said and sat up straight.

"hmmm... he murmured trying to make her lay again but she was strong enough to slip out of the bed this time.

"Arnavji...are you feeling anything else...like discomfort...aches or anything else? she asked him and he shook his head.

"I just want to sleep with... he started but she didn't let him complete.

"You can sleep but first eat something so I can give you your medicines. She said.

"I am not hungry...I am just sleepy... he said again rolling on his stomach.

"Stop acting like Coco Arnavji...get up...I am bringing you something.

"You are comparing with a dog? he asked in distaste.

"N-Nooo...I mean you are sulking like him..

"Again? he asked looking at her with fake anger.

"I-I m-mean...I ...that you are acting like baby...just like Coco is my baby...

"Seems like you like babies a lot...don't you want a real one...like real human baby...if you want we can have a one? he said and her eyes widened in pure horror. Has the fever gotten into his head?

"I think I should call the doctor. She said grabbing her phone and running out of the room in just few milliseconds. He chuckled at her reaction and laid down, sleeping again but that didn't lasted longer as he was woken up by the doctor who was checking him.

"Is he okay? I mean did his fever... he recognized Khushi's voice almost immediately.

"He is fine Mrs Raizada...don't worry...his fever is considerably low form last night and he will be perfectly fine in a day or two. He heard doctor saying.

"I was telling you Khushiji...you were worrying unnecessarily...Now you wake him up...I'll send his soup... he heard his Di's voice and once she heard her leaving he woke up and saw Khushi who looked very stressful but as he was about to say something Hariprakash bought a tray of his food in and thanking him Khushi turned to look at him.

"It's good that you are up... she said placing the tray infront of him.

"Finish this...I'll bring your medicines...you have to eat two extra tablets today...doctor said they are a bit strong so you might feel sleepy or nauseous. She told him and he looked at the soup in distaste.

"I don't want to eat this. he said keeping the tray on the nightstand.

"Arnavji...

"My taste buds are dead... he said before she could manipulate him for that soup.

"I'll make whatever you want...but firt eat this. she bought the tray backand sat right in front of him with the spoon full of soup waiting for him to open his mouth. Unwillingly he opened his mouth just because she was feeding him and scrunched his face in utter disgust as the soup reached his throat.

"You remember when I feel sick in Manali you forcefully made me drink that plain milk. Her face scrunched in the memory.

Arnav-"okay than don't eat...but drink this milk

Khushi-(to herself)-"MILK...eeww... and she snuggled more into the quilt.

Arnav-"are you listening ... I am talking to you... I know you are not sleeping...

Khushi-"please...let me sleep

Arnav-"are you getting up or I...(and he removed the quilt from her and made her sit.

Khushi-"please...I cant drink this...that too this plain milk

Arnav-"plain milk??

Khushi-"haan...I want Bournvita else forget it...

Arnav-"from where am I going to bring your Bournvita when the entire city is on high alert...

Khushi-"than let me sleep..(and she tried lying down again but he hold her arms)

Arnav-"open your mouth

Khushi-"noo...and she start wiggling ...no...

"I still feel like puking on remembering that. She added a small smile appeared on his lips on the memory where he made her drink the milk.

"I know...but I had no other alternative...you hadn't ate anything since morning...and you were not going to drink that milk on your own... he said taking a small sip again as she about the spoon closer.

"SO you cared? she asked and he looked up at her deep in his eyes. he used to mask his care away thinking she was just his responsibility for sometime, but it took a way too long for him to realize he had developed feeling for her.

"Will you make me a cake? he asked trying to change the subject. He cared, and will always care for her.

"Cake? She asked with her brows up and he nodded.

"Yes...I want to eat that..You said you'll make whatever I want to have. He said reminding her words.

"Okay but I'll make it for you...but eat these medicines first. She gave him3 tablets and he looked at her. no ways in hell he is going to eat those medicines. He took out the one which controls his sugar as she went to keep the tray away and bring him a glass of water.

"Here take this. she handed him the glass of water. He quickly took the one medicnes and kept holding the other two in his fist so she wouldn't notice how many he had. He gave her the glass back and taking that moment, he quickly threw his two medicines in Coco milk bowl which was filled to the brim with milk.

"NO you take some rest. She said in helping him lay and covered him with a duvet.

"I am working on those files...call me if you need anything. she said and sat on her chair to resume her work which left in office.

"Khushi... he called out for her as she was switching on laptop.

"Hmm...

"I bought you a gift. He said on remembering something and she looked at him weirdly.

"That day when you felt sick...and had to undergo that surgery.. he said softly not wanting to remember that day where he almost lost her.

"Yes. She said as he remained silent for long.

"That day I bought you a gift...but when Hariprakash told me about you...i was in a rush and forgot everything...he kept it in cupboard. He told her and she looked at him in uncertainity. Did he really ared for that much? She got up from th chair and opened his cupboard. It took him few minutes to find a box covered with blue gift wrap.

"This? she asked him showing the box and he nodded. She carfully opened the box and her eyes widened in surprise.

"I cant take this Arnavji. She said keeping it back in the box.

u"BUt why?

"It's Apple Pro Macbook Arnavji...it would cost me my whole fortune to buy this. She said in disbelief.

"But it's a gift. He reasoned.

"But I can't take this gift...it's way too expensive for me...I can't afford it...and even it's beyond my status. She said and instantly his mind drifted to the time he would talk about her status.

"No Arnavji...if this is a gift too...I am not going to take it. she said even before he could say something.

"Khushi you have to borrow laptops...I thought this would make it easier for you. he said.

"If you have problem that I am using your laptop...

"Shut up Khushi...why would I have any problem.

"Because you don't like me touching your things. She said his words. He never liked her touching his things because he saw her as a stranger who wants to claim his things but now she is entirely different person for her but her every single word made him realize how deeply he must have wounded her unknowingly and somewhere he was also getting to know why isn't she accepting his love.

"Khushi can we just forget whatever happened in the past. He said slowly and she frowned.

"I don't know...but one thing I am sure of is that I am not using this laptop and your are taking it back. she said.

"Are you crazy... He said but before he could complete his sentence Anjali entered the room.

"Chotte...did you took your medicines? she asked him and he nodded trying hard to suppress his anger.

"How are you feeling? she asked.

"My head hurts. He said feebly but when Khushi heard it she felt a bit guilty for arguing with him in this condition but he shouldn't have bought such a gift for her.

"You sleep for some time it will be okay. She told him.

"What's happening to Coco? she said suddenly taking everyone's attention to the poor soul who was trying to stand everytime but would fall down and roll over himself.

"Coco... Khushi rushed to him and scooped him up.

"What's happened to you? she asked him but he would bark softly trying to get rid of her which he never does. Arnav quickly checked his bowl which was half empty now and he realized what was happening to him. it's his medicines affect which is causing all the trouble to her Coco.

"Khushi let him free...he will be fine. Arnav said and when Anjali agreed upon him she let him down under her recliner where he fell asleep almost immediately.

"They both will be fine Khushiji...don't worry. Anjali told Khushi and she nodded silently.

"Arnavji...you please rest and sleep for some time...I don't want you to get sicker. Khushi turned to say it to Arnav who was pleased to hear concern in her voice.
