It Had to Be you

Arnav couldn't believe his luck, He was frenzied, flabbergasted on his wits why it didn't occur to him before that she might have left a hint for him? He was happy but at the same time was sad to think he had wasted so much time to ponder on her betrayal but he never realized she could never betray him'Never. He masqueraded of selfishness to get his dreams but had been forgotten one truth there was nothing in his life without Love and the Love of his Life was Khushi.

"I'm sorry Khushi" He flushed guiltily.

"I thought you left me for forever as you don't care for me. How much I was wrong, I made perjury about your loyalty to myself when I knew you couldn't do that to me" He felt his heart sank with dismay. He took a deep breath, but there was still a cold lump in his throat that he gulped down, he cursed himself for all this mess in their life, for those suffering. A tear slipped from the corner of his eyes and he sucked in a long breath, removing it roughly with the back of his palm.

"Enough of my stubbornness and your anger, I'm coming to take you back in my life and this time I won't let you go anywhere"

He folded the piece of paper, and then holding it tightly in his palm he took hasty steps towards the door and walked out.

"Khushi please give a look to your decision as I don't want you to take any decision in the flow of emotions"

Khushi had taken an uneasy breath before gulping down the unshed tears. From the time she left him, every day, every night, she had dreamed of him to come back for her but he didn't come.She had dreamed of his love and gave him her in return but Love! Love is the last thing Arnav could've thought of in his life except his dreams.Tears stung in Khushi's eyes as she struggled to breath calmly, it was now an unequivocal there wasn't any future of their relationship so what's the use to wait for him.

"I've been made decision and no one can change---" Her words fell away,she gasped tilting her face to meet with her gaze, "Diya,Don't stop me.I can't stay here.I would die to think he doesn't care for His child,for me"

Her voice was flat, hard, and firm but shaky with the havoc of emotions. Miserably,she moved her hand on her womb and gulped the rising knot in her throat.

Diya felt a heavy weight on her chest to think she couldn't do anything for Khushi, Whirling, she walked out the room,not pausing until she stood gasping the air at her room step.Tears rolled off her cheeks and she had let them flow, had never felt herself that much helpless before in her life.Her friend was in pain and she couldn't do anything for her.

Arnav had almost ran towards the building,he had breathed in and out several times to catch his breath before opening the folded paper and read the written address again.A tingling emotion touched his heart to think she was near to him.A smile suppress his lips as he rushed towards the entrance door.He didn't know how he climbed those long stairs but when he finally reached at the doorstep, he paused, sucked in a steadying breath, lifting his hand to rap the door, starved for the sight of her, his eyes lifted impatiently as the door flung open.

An unfamiliar face appeared from behind the door he felt a momentary disappointment to not find Khushi there.

Diya gasped, her eyes widened in disbelief as they settled on the person standing in front of her,his clothes were disheveled,his unshaven cheek expressing his sadness, his starving gaze finding someone, he was looking ill, very tired.

"Arnav!"

Diya whispered recognizing the person, she had seen his picture though she had never met him before.

"Where is Khushi? Tell her, Arnav has come to bring her with him."

Arnav impatiently spoke in just one breath peering his eyes inside the house through the door to catch her glimpse but disappointment captured his heart when he didn't get a reply from that unfamiliar girl.

"Arnav, she has waited for you so long"

Diya spoke weakly and something sank into her heart, The breath left him in a sinking gasp,a strange fear engulfed his heart and he lifted up, "don't you say it's too late ,I couldn't bear her separation anymore as I love her so much"

"Do you really love her?"tears sparkled in Diya's eyes, regarded him with a disbelief look and Arnav nodded his head, "I love her'I love her so much that I would die without her,please tell me where is she?

He found it difficult to keep himself in control to break in front of that strange girl but he wanted Khushi so desperately that it didn't feel him awkward to confess his feeling for Khushi so openly.

Arnav's words touched Diya's heart and a smile curved her lips to think how much they both love each other.

"I don't know it's Khushi's believe in you or your Love that has won"She glowed with unshed tears giving him way, "Tell her how much you love her as she has waited for you so long"

Unable to form a reply Arnav just could give her a gratitude look before taking hasty steps inside the house.

Engaged in packing her clothes and other things, She failed to hear the creak of the door opening and closing, or the sound of Arnav's approaching footsteps.His breath caught in his throat as his eyes finally caught a glimpse of her,his feet seemed to freeze at that spot, staring at her with desperate longing,his eyes blurred with tears but starved for the sight of her, he seemed unable to move or think.

A fine hair at the back of her neck prickled to realize she wasn't alone in the room but it wasn't Diya,it was Arnav---she gasped,Her body tensed, and she sucked her breath in sharply.

"Khushi!!"

His voice came out like a shaky whisper and a lone tear trickled on her cheek,she held her breath before closing her eyes for a moment to pray she desperately wanted this dream to be come true and her heart had thud soundly to realize it wasn't a dream but reality.

Turning slowly, her lids fluttered upward, seeing the depth of emotions in those teary eyes,her breath caught in her throat as she finally met with his starved gaze.

"Arnav!"His name came out in the shaky gasp as some fresh tears stung in her eyes,gathering his composure he took a step closer to her and then his shaky hands raised and came into contact with her cheeks,she closed her eyes letting the tears flow,he sucked in a shaky breath before cupping them gently in his palm and she opened her eyes to meet with him.

"I thought I had lost you for forever" tears welled up within his eyes as the words finally slipped from his shaky lips.

She gasped staring him deeply before finding the words to speak, "and I thought you will never come to me"Her voice was filled with deep hurt and he felt difficult to catch his breath.

"How could you think like that?"He whispered, voice choked with emotions and she breathed in.

"Because I thought I've not any place in your heart, I thought Riya would steal you from me"

She sounded too weak to keep her composure to break down in front of him and he removed the tears gently from her cheeks.

"Khushi,It is You,it was You and It Had To Be You"

He paused before lifting her face to meet with him.

"I Love you ,I love you with all my heart, my soul"

Khushi regarded him with astonishment,disbelief touched her cheeks, "you Love me?"

"Yes, I do Love you"

The breath slammed from her throat and she stared at him with a dazed expression,her eyes glisten with tears.

"Then why did you take too much time to come to me? Why didn't you think of me in these past few weeks? why didn't you try to find me?" She stepped back shrugging off his hands,her chin lifted in hurtful expressions and he could see her suffering in her eyes.

"I had found you every possible place where I could think I would find you but I couldn't.God knows how I spent those past weeks,crying ,starving for you but it made me realize how much I love you"

He stepped nearer and touched her shoulders bringing her nearer to him, she raised her eyes at him.

"I love you Khushi,give me one chance to show you how much I love you and I promise I would fill your life with happiness"

There was so much sincerity in his words that she couldn't doubt even for a mere second on his feelings, she could see the deep love in his eyes she always wanted to see but as she bowed her lashes to look at her swollen belly her heart squeeze to think He Loves her but he doesn't love his child.

" But you don't want our child?"

Arnav exhaled sharply remembering how he had reacted to hearing the news of her pregnancy. But he didn't mean to hurt her or their baby,he was just confused within his feelings and couldn't realize what he was saying or doing? He sucked in a deep breath to find some words to explain why did he react like an ass?How could he reject his own blood?he touched her cheeks lovingly before collecting the words to speak.

"How could you even think like that?I know I react like an ass,I was foolish to behave like that.i wasn't ready to hear that news so I got angry at myself for becoming the cause of that situation but I never intended to hurt you and my child"

"Arnav you----"

She blinked back the tears looked stunned at his words and he leaned and kissed her forehead removing the every line of tears and then cupped her chin.

"I'll love my child as much as I love you"

She let the tear fell of happiness, her eyes still shimmering with tears, her emotions were too raw to accept it wasn't dream.

"I love you Arnav, it was you I always want"

Arnav let his breath out slowly at her confession, A slow smile lifted the corners of his lips.

"And it was you I always want"

He brushed his lips with hers and both smiled in their mingled breath."Will you marry me?"

He had whispered against her lips and she let out the startled gasp,her eyes lifted at him,tears of joy gathered in her eyes and Arnav leaned in and kissed them.

"I want to give name to our relation, I know I've nothing to give you except my love but I promise this time I'll prove myself and will do anything to give you and my children all the happiness,joy of the world "Arnav's voice was hoarse with emotions as he whispered staring into the deep pool of her eyes and she let the sprinkle tears to fell.

"We need you and your love, I don't want any luxury life for me or our children,I want a life in which we can live happily with our children,seeing them growing,fulfilling their dreams, a happy and content life"

"We'll live a happy and content life and I'll give you all my love,my heart,my soul,my every breath"

He promised and she smiled contentedly before accepting his initiative and pressing her mouth against his in a long kiss that was filled with love, lots of promises and a dream of a happy life.
