It Had to Be You

Epilogue

Five years later'.

Walking towards his home, his mind was filled with the thoughts of his family. He breathed in the fresh evening air of the September. Life had given him everything that he ever wished for A beautiful wife who loved him dearly and his two beloved sons who wasn't less adorable to their mother. A perfect threesome, He suppressed a slight laugh that faded into the air with the light blow of air. His eyes sprinkled with unshed tears when he thought what if he would've lost everything? Life isn't always merciful; sometimes we lose everything in a figment of moment and then we regret our whole life. He sucked in a long breath and let out the sigh of contentment to think he didn't lose the chance to get what life had offered him.

So much had happened these past Five years, after their confession and Khushi's approval of their marriage they didn't waste time and after just one week they had gotten married. Khushi was pregnant and was bearing his child he didn't want anyone to raise finger at her or their relationship. The ceremony was simple and attended by just a few close friends, Diya had designed wedding dress for Khushi and Arnav had forgotten to breath to see her in bridal attire she was looking angel and it had taken him several moments to compose himself.

Arnav smiled broadly to think how desperately he had waited to be alone with her so they could consummate their wedding night as he had waited long for her.

Just after a week, Arnav had gotten an offer from a multinational company where he had applied along back; it was Khushi's luck or her belief on him that he availed that opportunity. Though, it wasn't what he always dreamt of but it was what which gave him contentment and peace of heart.

There wasn't any regret left except the way he played with his friend'Riya, she was innocent of all these and really loved him truly but he deliberately used her emotions for his benefit. After their last meeting he never heard about her, it seemed she had understood she was running behind the shadow.

He sighed out giving a brief pause to his thoughts.

He couldn't forget the day when Ayan, their elder son opened his eyes in this world, he couldn't tell the feeling of fatherhood, when he had held his tiny body in his arms he forgot to blink his eyes, he was the carbon copy of Arnav, the same deep eyes, dark black brows and the dimple on his right cheek.

He blinked back the tears and breathed in; Life had given him happiness that he ever dreamed of. He looked straight climbing the first stair towards their apartment; a smiled touched the corner of his lips to think how his younger son Zayam would give him a welcoming smile and walk towards him opening his arms to see him entering in the house after a long tiring day, he thought nothing could compare the happiness, contentment he feels at that moment.

He breathed long and let the gathered tears in his eyes to spill out, removing them with his palm, raising his hand as he pushed the door slightly a loud childish voice hit with his ear drums and he smiled in awe.

"mommy---Papa"

"he had heard your footsteps"

Khushi suppressed a smile seeing the little Arnav walking towards his father, Arnav bent down on his knees, spreading his arms to welcome him in his embrace; he wrapped them around him and kissed his both cheeks lovingly.

"Papa"Ayan shouted with the top of his voice coming out of the room but made face to see his brother already in his father's arms. "He always comes first"Zayan giggled and then deliberately gave a sloppy kiss to his father,Arnav awed to see the sight and thanked to God in his heart."Ayan, come here"Khushi shook her head and grasping his shoulder took her in his arms."if Zayan is papa's boy then Ayan is mama's boy"

"Papa's boy" Zayan repeated the words in his childish voice and Both Arnav and Khushi laughed out.

It was the life they both dreamed of and their children who made them complete.

**********************************************

Pulling and adjusting the coverlet on her sleeping adorable sons, she leaned and kissed their forehead and then slightly closed the door behind her without making noise.

She saw him standing against the open window as she slipped into the room; she reached tiptoes at him and then slipped her arm around his broad west hugging him from behind kissing his cheek she nuzzled against her neck.

"What are you thinking?"

He roused and placing his hands on her, grasping them in his hold brought them to his lips.

"I was just thinking Life is so unpredictable when I thought I've been losing everything she filled my life with happiness"

He kissed her palm and then turned to stare at her face, "how much I was wrong to run behind fake dreams, you were with me and I was unaware of the love that you had been sired in my heart"

She caught the floating tears in his eyes and she sucked in a breath. "I was too unaware of the love that I had in my heart for you, I was happy to live in that unnamed relationship until the day I felt the growing tiny creature in my womb, he made me realize I love his father so much'so much that I've given my everything to him without thinking what if he didn't return the same feeling back"

She grasped the air feeling the tears gather in her eyes and he leaned and kissed her forehead.

"We both were unaware of our love and Life gave us another chance, my heart sank to think what would've happened hadn't I reached in time, I might have been lost you for forever" He gasped the air sucking for breath.

"It is our love that brought us back together, it had to us"She smiled in her tears and he suppresses a smile in agreement cupping her face to bring her lips close to his.

"It had to be you,Mrs Arnav Singh Raizada'it was always you who were in my heart and will always in my heart, my love, my life, my soul'the girl who conquered me--I love you with all my heart"

He brushed his lips with her and she smiled whispering back before taking the initiative to capture his lips.

"I love you, too, and I'll love you till my last breath"
