[MEMBERSONLY]πŸ˜†

AAP WOHI HO NA!!?

1: A LEAP OF FAITH

The want to hold to hold her in his arms, the desire to get his forehead kissed ever so tenderly by

her, the urge to kiss her senselessly and the ache of separation his heart bore was way too

much for a man who's- got-it-all. Arnav Singh Raizada, the fashion prodigy was close to tears the

green room of sheesh mahal and upon that, curled into a fetal position begging some unknown

power, he didn't believe in, to return his happiness to her. True, sheesh mahal came for a

ridiculously high prize. It came with a dark past, a curse and an unpleasant feeling of nostalgia.

But that was not his problem today. He wasn't crying because he was missing his mother, he

was today crying for her, like every day. He had once shamelessly admitted to himself that he

loved her more than he loved his dead mother. And he promised that he would die the day she

left him and that was when the reality barged in. she was no more and he died. From the inside.

Yes, khushi Kumari gupta, his fianc, who was due to be introduced family, was no more. Except

that his heart refused to believe and his gut refrained from digesting the little piece of information.

"ASR, it's time." Said a panting aman who just ran all the way from the stage to the green room.

On not receiving any response he panicked. Did he hide himself somewhere again? As if on cue

he heard muffled voices coming from the trial rooms.

"ASR! Buddy I know you're in there. Please unlock the door." He tried many times and as always

he failed but today was bound to be an exception, he was tired of seeing his best friend cum

boss cry over a girl. Well, she was not any other girl. She was khushi. she was like a younger

sister to him and her los has affected him too but it was time to get over it and face the reality.

Without a second thought he kicked the door open to find the most heart wrenching view. His best

friend curled up against the wall, head buried in his palms and shoulders slumped. And like a

prayer he chanted, "khushi".

"ASR! Stop it. She is not going to come back. You need to get over her" growled aman, tears

threatening to roll from his eye too, to which Arnav just nodded a no.

"dude! You need to face the reality. She is DEAD!, its been 5 years!"

"she.is.not.dead", the devil was back in his voice and so were his eyes, devilish. "I know it. I can

feel it."

"ASR! How?" questioned an equally determined aman. If his friend was determined not going to

face the reality then, even he was determined to make him see sense. All the time unaware of the

hollow smile on arnav's face, a smile he smiled upon the memory..

Flashback

"Arnav!" exclaimed khushi on sensing his hold on her petite form. "I was just thinking about you"

"Really!", Mocked Arnav with mischief twinkling in his eyes. "since when did I become a subject of importance to you?"

Noticing the mischievous tone he suppressed a giggled and played along, "well, since my

heart started racing only at the mere utterance of your name".

"Interesting! But do you know why our hearts beat that way?" asked a relatively serious

arnav. She nodded a no with a kiss worthy pout on her face. "well that's because our hearts

maybe separate but our heart beats are one. Call it raging hormones or teenage theory, I call

it love. My love for my girl, my love for you and I swear the day I shall be gone will be the day

your heartbeats stop. We shall die together. Feel our heart beats stop together. And we shall

lie there, on satin sheets. Skin to skin, heart to heart, lips to lip and breaths mingled. I swear

and I swear on your jalebi's" explained Arnav ever so tenderly to khushi only to get crushed

by her petite form. He laughed at her gesture, kissing her happy tears away, he heard her

say" humari saansein ek hojati hai" and kissed his chest...

The nostalgic feeling hit him so bad that the fashion show was long forgotten, the rambling aman

now quiet and the dead of the night now seeming alive , he fainted, with a smile. "ASR! Are you

listening. ASR,...ASR!!!" poor aman shouted in vain.

Flashback

Arnav: "hi baby! I just reached delhi."

Khushi: "so what?", she snapped

Arnav: "ouch! Is my crazy woman angry?"

Khushi: " yes she is and am not a crazy woman. I told you I want to come along. I want to meet your family." Whined khushi.

Arnav: " I know you are eager to meet them but you don't know my family. Hell will break loose if I simply go and introduce you to everyone as my fianc. They are one big hysterical mess. So am going to talk to them. Handle them and then come to take you. Deal?" he asked in the most business like tone.

Khushi: "deal. Am sorry I shouldn't have whined like a child it's just that the thought of you not being around is scary but till then am going to prepare myself for the tortures I'll have to bear along with the Mrs. raizada title" she said while pulling out of the parking lot.

Arnav: "hmm. Do I sense second thoughts?" he teased

Khushi: "never! It's a till death do us apart pact." she snapped

Arnav: "no khushi , even death can't do us apart. I love you, more than anything in the world." He confessed.

Khushi: " arnav, I lo...aaah!" and the phone went flying away. All that a paled out arnav could here was honking of a car. People screaming, " CALL 911". He screamed her name into the phone hoping nothing had happened to her, simultaneously turning a few heads at the airport. Aman reached him and dugout the details. He took control of the situation by calling kacy, khuhis' best friend. A few hours later the life of ASR became a vacuum. He stood as still as a statue, as unblinking as a corpse... " aman! This is kacy, s-she is n-oo m-more a-aman. S-she ll-eft us. She was hit by a tt-ruck" it was his ill luck that he received the call while aman was busy making a few others. She was gone. Everybody registered that fact. Aman , kacy, the hospital association except him. She was gone. Ridiculous! He just spoke to her. Well he even heard her scream. He heard people calling for an ambulance. He heard kacy's genuine cry. She was gone. Hell no! even death can't do them apart.

He woke up to hit his vision with the ceiling. He recalled last night. With a heavy heart, he irritably

unchained himself from the syringes and moved from the confines of the bed, ignoring the pleas

of the nurse. One ASR-ish glare and she was quiet. He changed into his suit and like a man on a

mission, he ever so arrogantly walked out of the ward leaving a gaping family and a "what-

on-earth" aman . His thoughts were clouded by hers. He felt a pair of eyes watching him. He tried

to ignore but he couldn't. He raised his head to meet the pair of eyes and he was insanely glad

about his decision. Here she was. Staring at him wide eyed just like a 5 year old. Without thinking

anything he screamed "khushi!" and ran to her to take her in his arms his brain chided that he

was hallucinating but his heart knew he wasn't. Here she was standing in front of him in her flesh

and blood. She looked so fragile, sensitive and so confused. Yet she looked like khushi. Hell!

She was khushi. What he felt then was impossible to be explained. He felt like this teenager who

had just won the basketball match after being so close to losing it. He felt like this father who

held her daughter seconds before she could fall off the cycle. He felt like this balloon seller who

has not sold a single balloon and had earned just enough for the day when a rich man came and

bought all of it just when he was about to close his stall and leave dejectedly. He felt like this

school boy who went to school forcibly only find out that the school has been shut down for the

day. He felt happy. He felt his yearning for her die and take a new shape. He was crying and

laughing and kissing her all over the place not even noticing his family standing behind him

shocked as ever and not even noticing that she was not responding. He cupped her face and

was about to kiss her when he heard her say "aap wohi ho na? jis ne ummm..." she fumbled

with her word with childlike enthusiasm,"jis ne..you know that huge place with a lot of white color

and we were like going zoom! On it" she made some gestures and from what he understood she

meant ice skating. They had the most memorable time doing that. But why was she fumbling so

much? "khushi! You know me don't you?" his voice reflecting his worse fears. While she was

staring at him just like a few minutes ago. Wide-eyed, like a child, blinking a lot as if trying to

understand yet blank. He shook her up "khushi! It's me. Your Arnav. Khushi! You remember me

don't you?" his action were interrupted by a middle aged nurse who came running toward them

and took khushi from him and apologized "forgive me Mr. Raizada. I was just talking her for her

evening walk. I hope she didn't cause trouble she has this habit of wandering here and there"

and before he could say something she took her away. Dr. bajaj , the senior most doctor

approached him asking whether he was alright and apologizing go the poor girl's behalf. This

angered him. She was not a poor girl. She was his girl. He snapped "she is not a poor girl. She

is khushi!. My khushi! Do you understand that?" he said holding the doc by the collar. Aman as

always came to the rescue with a confused yet happy expression. What just happened was

beyond their understanding but they knew what they saw. And they chose to believe it.

Doctor: do you happen to know her sir?

Arnav: "of course I do. She is my fiance." He declared, "but how did she end up here. I left no

hospital unchecked in the states. What is wrong with her? Why doesn't she recognize me? Did

she have a memory loss? Speak up dammnit!!" he blew the hospitals head off.

Doctor: without wasting any time he began "please sit down Mr. Raizada. And calm down. I shall

answer all your questions" when he obliged he continued "she was run over by a truck which

resulted in serious head injury. No, she did not lose her memory but her optic nerve connecting

the brain got damaged. This means that she can see things but cannot register what they are or

what they mean. Over the 5 years we have trained her in basic things. She was brought over by

the U.S. embassy on the onset of her visa expiration. Her health insurance came handy but

lasted only for five years that is it lasted only till last month. Since then we've been trying to contact

her relatives but we found none. The bills are to be paid and we are glad to have found you." He

finished in one go in the most business like demeanor for the way he saw ASR sitting he could

make out how eager he was to know the details and with every detail and every x-ray of his

beloved shown, the doc could see the great ASR flinch in such a manner as if mentally

undergoing the same pain. What shocked him more was the smile which appeared on his face.

Any man would be blown away by such news. "At least she's alive. I want the best treatment given

to her. I want her to be shifted in the VIP ward and the most nutritious diet which is both tasty and

healthy. My khushi is a diehard foodie. And one more thing I want the tastiest jalebi's to be added

to her menu ASAP" said a smiling ASR yet an ordering ASR. What shocked him more was the

bear hug and the kiss on his cheeks he just received from aman. It was the doctor's turn to say

"what the!"

"I can't believe it" mumbled aman for the millionth time. " I can't believe she is alive. ASR do you

hear me? She is alive. Your khushi, my gudiya. She is so damn alive" the little dance show aman

was putting up was worth watching. "you left no hospital unchecked. No trauma center unvisited

and we still couldn't find her but here she is. Right in luckhnow and we had no clue. I was so

damn sure she was gone but you were so confident about her existence. Shit! ASR am happy!"

exclaimed a half crying, half laughing aman who just stopped abruptly on realizing arnav wasn't

listening. He was more than excited than aman but of course, ASR being ASR was a total fail

when it came to show his emotions. The only person who read his mind was now standing at a

corner laughing out loud on aman's antics all the while unknown of who was staring at her. She

was all so childlike. Those doe eyes, now staring directly in pools of molten caramel, brimmed

with confusion, yet so beautiful. It would take him the effort of a life time just to look away. And

when he did he heard a thud. She blacked out. Again.
