Chapter 10
Chapter 9
Merely one hour ago, she had been the most happy girl in this world, and now... In a few moments, everything had been shattered...
Her heart broke again, except this time it hurt even more. Without knowing how, her legs carried her outside of the shopping mall. Tears streamed down her cheeks, but she wasn't even aware of it. She collided with a few people while she walked aimlessly on the road, but nothing seemed to enter her mind.
While elsewhere, Arjun was busy preparing for the diner. He would propose Sakshi again tonight, and would tell her how much he loves her. He would also tell her everything that happened regarding Rohit and her broken marriage. He was sure she'd forgive her, he was hundred percent sure she was in love with him.
Sakshi had called him to say she was going for shopping, so he knew that no one would be at home. He also called Sakshi's mother to block Sakshi for some hours. Given it was their first romantic diner and date, he wanted it to be completely private between them. So he had planned for everything to be delivered at their place, and he also took half day off to decorate everything in the house.
It was almost five o'clock in the afternoon, and Arjun was staring in admiring way at the romantic atmosphere he had managed to create in his own house. He wondered why Sakshi had reached yet, but thinking she was maybe talking with her mother, he didn't reflect much and it, and went to get ready.
By six o'clock, he was ready in a black suit, and decided to start lighting all the scented candles he had placed in every corner. He checked his watch, and looked at the door, wondering why Sakshi was taking so much time. He tried calling her, but her mobile was switched off. He started to feel scared something might happened to her. He called Sakshi's mother, but even she didn't know where Sakshi was.
He walked to and fro, waiting for her to return back. He was getting tensed as the time passed, soon he had removed his suit, and was waiting anxiously for her. It was almost nine o'clock, but still she had reached. He called all the hospitals, and enquired if Sakshi had been involved in any accidents. But nothing, he didn't have anything no information, and this was eating him slowly.
It was almost midnight, when he heard the front door opened, and though the whole house was engulfed in darkness, he saw a black shadow coming inside.
When Sakshi had closed the door, he switched on the lights and looked at her. He was angry and had felt so helpless and scared and was going to shout at her, but her face ravaged by tears stopped all words.
He walked towards Sakshi, not understanding why his wife was looking at him as if he was a murderer, a monster. He raised his hand to touch her shoulder, but she took one step back.
"Sakshi kya hua?" he asked gently, his heart paining to see her swollen eyes.
She had walked aimlessly for a long long time, till her tired legs had stopped her and she had ended up in a park, where she sat on a bench for the past few hours. She couldn't believe her whole life was a mess. These two brothers had destroyed her life completely. She had felt hurt when Rohit disappeared, but Arjun had broken her even worst. He had enacted a drama with her, won her trust, won her heart, and all for what...
Even now staring at his anxious face, she couldn't believe that so much darkness could be found behind his innocent eyes.
The tears which had stopped, started to stream back down her cheeks.
"Sakhsi kya hua?" Arjun said scared now. He raised his hands to wipe her tears, and hug her, but she was evading his touch as if he had a contagious disease.
"Stop avoiding me!" Arjun said angrily, and grabbed her when for the third time she tried to evade him.
He was very angry, and stared coldly in her teary eyes.
He shook her, trying somehow to get across her tears and shocked eyes.
"Don't touch me!" Sakshi shouted and pushed Arjun away from her.
"Sakshi kya hua?" Arjun asked for the third time, and now he could see pure hatred and pain in her eyes.
"Main aaj Rohit se milli, and he told me everything!" she shouted at him. She was at least relieved to see his face changing colors, and he almost looked ashamed.
"So you know everything?" he asked, not being able to face her at all. He thought Rohit was abroad, and wondered how Rohit and Sakshi met.
"Yes, I know everything!" she said with disgust in her eyes, "how could you do something like that to me?"
"Since you know everything, why are you even asking this question?" Arjun asked, no longer facing Sakshi.
"I wanted to hear from your own mouth!" she shouted at him.
Arjun wasn't proud of what he had done, but he had only done the right thing, and besides he was only protecting her and he really loved her. Before he could tell her the truth, everything had been snatched from him.
Sakshi had hoped that Arjun would refute everything Rohit had said, and that he would comfort her saying everything was false, at least he would convince her of his feelings, but instead, Arjun wasn't even looking at her...
A few hours earlier
"Sakshi, darling how are you?" Rohit said with his charming smile. Sakshi wanted to vomit when she heard Rohit talking in such a way with her. The charms which earlier had made her fall for him, now that itself sounded so immature and artificial to her.
She evaded him, and continued her way.
But his hand grabbed her upper arms, and forced her to face him. Sakshi looked angrily at him, and removed his hand from her arm.
Rohit gave her another smile and said, "Still angry at me?"
"Dekho Rohit, I don't want to talk with you! In fact I don't even want to know you left me!" Sakshi retorted back. She then realised that she really no longer cared to know the truth. Someone had rightly said, when one is really happy, the other things become immaterial. Looking at Rohit's fake smile, she was happy that he ran away, she doubted she would have been happy with him at all. And out of all this, she was forced to agree that the feelings, the care, her heartbeats, everything had been pointing to the fact that she had fallen irrevocably in love with her husband. Her face was glowing after she had finally accepted her feelings. And that glow wasn't missed by Rohit.
"Really, don't you wanna why I went away?" Rohit said, " Not even if I tell you Arjun drove me away?" He was looking at her eyes, and when he saw her face change, he knew he had succeeded to create a gap. Now all it would need would be to fuel it more, he hated his brother, and today he'd have his final revenge. He never had any chance but to run away that time, but he bided his time well before his return.
"Kya kaha tumne?" Sakshi asked not wanting to believe even one word, but still she wanted to know.
