Chapter 44

Had originally been posted on IF.in. I'm starting from the start for the people whom have not read my story and have added some changes for the interest of the reader.

Mitesh: so both of you planned this. (Priya nods) What's wrong you look like you're about to cry.

Arjun: oww my baby's getting emotional (he goes and hugs her from the back)

Anurag and Manisha arrive, Anurag feels bad as he sees Arjun hugging her.

Manisha: (sad) where's Pritem?

Mitesh: oh he said he had some work. He told me to wish you a happy anniversary.

Manisha: (sad) oh

Arjun: (hugging her with one hand, he hits Priya on the head with the other) this duffer made us believe that you were cheating on Manisha.

Anurag: let's go sit.

Manisha, Anurag, and Mitesh go to a table. Arjun holds Priya back by grabbing her hand.

Arjun: What's wrong? You were happy 5 minutes ago and now-

Priya: I don't know. I think I just need a friend (she hugs Arjun)

Arjun leads Priya to the table.

Manisha: what happen?

Arjun: she doesn't feel good.

Manisha: (feels Priya head, cheek then neck) she's feels a bit warm.

Mitesh: first you should eat then we'll take you home.

Everyone begins to eat. After their done.

Arjun: well we should get going.

Mitesh: yeah you guys stay and continue your anniversary.

Priya: sorry for lying. I didn't know what else to do.

Manisha: it's ok. It was for a good cause so it's not a lie. I just want to say thanks.

Priya smiles. Mitesh, Arjun, and Priya leave. All of them get into the car, Mitesh drops Arjun and Priya to his house, Mitesh then drives home. Mitesh drives up to his driveway and stops. He picks up his cell and search for Jyoti's number. He thinks as he looks at her number. Mitesh presses send then quickly presses end. Mitesh gets out of the car and walks into his house. Meanwhile, Arjun and Priya are on the balcony sitting on top of a blanket. Priya is hugging Arjun arm with her head on his shoulder. Priya is seconds away from falling asleep.

Arjun: Priya I always wanted to tell you something but never could with all the arguments that use to come between us. Are you listening to me?

Priya: (about to fall asleep) hummmmm

Arjun: I don't know how to tell you this. Ever since I first saw you, (smiling) when you walked though those canteen doors (he giggles as he remembers Priya walking though the canteen doors and the part where he drops her books on purpose). When you looked up at (Priya falls asleep) me with your beautiful glittering eyes, I fell in love. Priya I love you.

Arjun waits for her to say something. Arjun then lifts her off his shoulder.

Arjun: Priya!

Arjun looks at Priya sleeping and begins to laugh at his luck. Arjun then picks Priya up and walks to her room with her in his arm. Arjun lays her on her bed and spreads the blanket on her. He leaves her room. His mom waits outside.

Neha: what happen?

Arjun: nothing she fell asleep so I put her back in bed.

Arjun is about to leave.

Neha: wait Arjun you know where your sister is. I tried her cell, it's off.

Arjun: yeah she called and said that she'll be here and that her battery is low so she won't be able to pick up.

After 30 minutes, Anurag and Manisha arrive. Manisha gets out the car is about to walk up the stairs.

Anurag: (getting out the car) Manisha wait (Manisha turns) I still have one thing for you.

Manisha: (surprised) what?

Anurag: you know how my father always wants me to make my own money for things I need.

Manisha: yeah

Anurag: well that's why I took that job in the restaurant to get you this (Anurag takes out the ring). Happy Anniversary.

Manisha gets happy and hugs Anurag.

Manisha: thanks so much.

Manisha lets go of Anurag. Anurag puts the ring on her finger. Manisha after looking at Anurag and the ring she walks up the stairs.

Manisha: (at the door) bye.

Anurag: bye.

Manisha closes the door.

Anurag while turning finds Priya watching from the window. Anurag waves goodnight to her. Priya waves back. Anurag gets into his car and leaves. Priya wipes away the tear that came out of her eyes. Priya hears Manisha coming to the door, she runs, and jumps onto the bed making pretend she's asleep.

Manisha: (opening the door) oh my god Priya you wouldn't believe what type of night I had. The dancing, singing, but why am I telling you this, you already know since you helped him out. (Waiting for a reply) Priya-

Manisha walks over to Priya and sees that she was sleeping. Manisha goes out closing the light.

Manisha: good night (she leaves)

Priya opens her eyes and starts to cry.

Priya: (softly crying) Sorry.
