A moment

Thank you to everyone who’s still reading, been super busy recently but here’s a mini moment to get us started again!

A moment

“Late night ?” Teased Mahesh when Prerna was the last one to the Breakfast table in the morning. Now that Rishabh had announced they were planning for a baby it gave everyone especially Mahesh permission to tease.

The likes of Masi & Mrs Sharma tried to cover up their giggles too but as ever Rishabh ignored them and his brothers attempts to be funny.
Prerna quickly replied with Snehas struggle to sleep after the amount of chocolate cake shed eaten without super vision and of course that indeed was the whole truth no matter what it looked like.

Rishabh looked over his paper to check on Prerna but their gaze didn’t meet for she did all she could to hide from all eyes.

The car ride into the office was no different, there was no conversation as such but Prerna was still conscious of the littlest thing that might suggest their news was known to others beyond the Bajaj household.

She was conscious of every person that passed as they entered the office and even those that were already in the elevator they stepped into.

Thankfully there was a point when the elevator was vacated just leaving the two of them.

Prerna watched the doors of the elevator shut and then came and then came an unexpected screech.

Rishabh had halted the lift. “We need a moment” he said when Prerna looked at him in surprise.

Once the element of surprise had passed Prerna felt a sigh of relief pass through her.

It was just the two of them no prying eyes. Rishabh turned to her his eyes asking her what was bothering her.

There was silence for a second before Prerna picked up her eyes “They all know” she said.

Rishabh could read his wife’s eyes something he decided he’d do more of now having failed to judge her feelings recently.

When he realised what it was he sighed at his own short comings. “I’m sorry” he said for announcing their personal news at the dinner table like that and of course news spread fast.

Rishabh Bajaj rarely apologised and so Prerna knew he meant it, she could feel his eyes soften and his hand creep up to caress her cheek. She dropped her face into his chest and he wrapped his arm around her “I tried to tell you but you were too busy …” she whispered.
