ArHi OS - With You... Forever...
It was an excruiciating pain. Arnav closed his eyes, unable to bear the wound. Her wound. Khushi, the girl who he had tried his very best to protect her from all harm, now stood in front of him, with hot tears, rolling down her eyes. Within a few moments, the flush in her cheeks, that Arnav had always secretly admired, had disappeared, to be replaced by a pale, colourless, expression. Her lips were trembling, and she seemed as if she would collapse the very moment if she was allowed. The instant their eyes had locked, Arnav felt the anxiety course through his body. He wanted to comfort her... to tell her it would be alright... to tell her that nothing would happen to her father. And he would have. But the minute he opened his mouth to speak, he found that he was at a loss of words. "Khushi..." His breath rushed out. He could feel an unexplainable pain in his heart. He couldn't bare to see Khushi like this... And for a few moments, he wished he could simply die. It was better than this helplessness... He was witnessing her pain... her sorrow every moment, and he wasn't able to do anything about it. "I'm so sorry..."
He heard a sob choke in Khushi's throat. She stood, watching his eyes, darting nervously, never meeting with her own. The three words that he had just said... Khushi had been waiting for him to say it... she knew someone would say it... She had promised herself that she would not become weak... that she would not become vulnerable... She knew that if she started sobbing, she would never be able to stop. The pain was too much. She felt her heart, sinking, lower and lower with each passing second. She was crumbling. The barriers she had formed... the promises she had made... she was breaking them. Nahi Khushi... tum aisa nahi kar sakti ho... Suddenly, she felt an urge, to simply lose herself within Arnav's arms... she wanted to forget the fact that her father was in pain... she wanted to forget that he was fighting for his life... she wanted to forget the fact that she might never be able to speak to him again. Arnav's arms...they would give her all of that... She knew she needed to feel the comfort of his arms... she wanted to hear his voice, consolling her... she craved to pull him close to her...and never let go. And that was why, despite the warnings that her mind was shooting through to her, she listened to her heart. She ran to Arnav's arms, craving to simply melt within them. The unexpected force that she had used, had taken Arnav by complete surprise. His heart was racing at the feel of her delicate skin against him. He felt the heat, rushing through his veins. He clenched his fists tightly, avoiding the urge to hug her back... to keep her protected within his arms, where nothing could hurt her. Arnav... stop it. This is NOT the time for such stupid thoughts. Wait patiently, she'll leave you soon... In spite of his thoughts, he felt his heart sinking at the thought of Khushi leaving him so quickly. But he knew he couldn't hug her back. It wasn't...right... Why not? If she can hug you, why can't you hug her back? Remember, SHE was the one who came to YOU. So she obviously won't mind if you return the hug... But another part of him knew that the only reason she had hugged him was because of her father, struggling between life and death.
"Khushi-" He began, trying to slowly release himself from her tight hold. "Arnavji... please...hold me..." She whispered. He sighed, feeling himself relax in spite of himself.
"Please..." She pleaded once more. I'm only doing this for her. He thought to himself, as his arms slowly twined around her waist. He closed his eyes, slowly losing himself within her. His head slowly bent down, resting between her shoulder and neck. His lips accidentally caressed the nape of Khushi's neck. But it was enough to send a shiver down her spine. Arnav pulled her closer to him, not even allowing air to pass between them.
"Everything will be alright..." He whispered slowly. Khushi could feel his heavy breathing on her skin. Khushi's hand travelled gently down Arnav's shoulder, to his back, exploring him. "Stay with me..." She whispered, her head sinking into Arnav's chest. She could hear his heartbeats, echoing in unison with her own. It was as if Arnav was in a trance. The peace that he had lost years ago, was as if returned to him in the form of Khushi. "I'll never leave you Khushi... I promise..." Khushi could feel the hot tears rolling down her cheeks once more. "B-Bauji...he'll be alright won't he?" She whimpered. Arnav clutched Khushi tighter, fearing her question. His hands slowly ran down Khushi's arm, holding her hand tightly. "Come with me..." One arm was around Khushi, supporting her, while the other squeezed her hand tightly. He guided her to a bench and helped her to sit. He bent down on his knees, gazing into her closed eyes. He placed a finger to her chin, gently pulling up her face. "Look into my eyes Khushi." She didn't respond. "Khushi... I promise you... Everything will be alright..." Khushi let out a loud sob. "Arnavji... I lost my parents once... I don't have the strength within me to face it again..." Arnav could feel the tears lining his own eyes. And before he knew it, he had engulfed Khushi's lips within his own. He had held back the urge for too long... and now, after hearing her words, he couldn't help but kiss her. The passion was intense. Arnav's hand held her head, sinking under her hair. He ignored the dizziness that shaded his eyes and continued. Khushi... she didn't know the extent to which she was torturing him. Khushi's lips were like water to a thirsty man. It was heavenly. But when the kiss ended at last, Arnav didn't have the energy to face Khushi. Khushi gazed at him, astounded. "Arnavji..." She whispered slowly. He sighed, as he began. "Look, I'm sorry Khushi, I couldn't help it! But I've been wanting to do this for such a long time!"
"Arnavji-"
"And today, when you looked at me, with those teary eyes, I just couldn't stop myself! I know what I did was wrong and I'm really sorry!"
"Arnavji!"
In fact, I know you'll probably never forgive me for this, but I can only try! Please Khushi! I know what you'll say! I'm being an stupid, desperate idiot who never-" Khushi didn't let Arnav finish. Her hands pulled him by the collar and her lips were pressed to his once more. Arnav looked at her in surprise, as he slowly moved his mouth to match hers.
"You know, you really should let me finish more often!" She declared, with a faint smile lining her face. "You don't have to be sorry. I've felt the same way, everytime I saw you... I've been trying so hard to avoid you... to stop myself from loving you... but I couldn't."
He blinked, trying to grasp what she had just told him. "So this means...you..."
She hit his chest lightly. "Do I really have to spell it out for you??! i love you Arnavji! I love you!" Arnav knew he couldn't have possibly felt happier in his life. He bent down, gazing lovingly at the angel, who had entered his life, and changed it...forever...
