Chapter 37

 

EPISODE – 50

 

Neetika rushed towards Maya and saw her sitting next to Naina. She was shaken after seeing Naina's condition.

"Oh My God! Naina... Naina are you okay?" She kept her hand over her shoulder trying to get her answer. She turned to Maya when she didn't get that.

 

"Call Navin... Quick!"

Before Maya could get up and go upstairs they heard a gunshot. Naina shivered and her eyes brimmed with tear. She was looking all the more scared. There was another gunshot. It worsened her condition.

"Maya go check what's happening upstairs. Take someone with you."

 

Maya rushed upstairs. There were sounds of gunshots coming at regular intervals. Rajveer and Navin were hiding behind the wall and were firing at someone hiding behind the door of one of the rooms.

"Everything under control?" Rajveer asked Maya.

"No... I mean yes... I mean..."

"Yes or no...." Rajveer snapped while Navin fired one more bullet.

"Yes everyone has been taken out but....."

"But.... What?"

"Naina!"

"Kya hua usko?" Navin asked. Both of them stopped firing and turned back to her.

"She is in a bad shape. Kafi darri hui hai and..... She's hurt."

"Hurt? Is she okay?" Navin further enquired.

"I don't think so... Major injury to nahin hai but she is very scared."

"How dare they touch her? I am going to kill these B******."

Naving said angrily and tried to step out from behind the wall to shoot the last two terrorists there. But before he could do anything like that Rajveer pulled him back.

 

"Dimaag kharaab ho gaya hai kya tera? Unhein maarne jaa raha hai ya khud marne."

"To kya karoon....Tune suna na inhone Naina ko..."

"I know that... We'll get them for that.... lekin aise nahin. Don't loose your cool."

 

Rajveer was suggesting him to stay calm while he was himself boiling with rage from inside. They started firing again and this time more furiously. Rajveer manage to shoot one of them while Navin's bullet hit the leader of the group at his wrist. His gun dropped from his hand and three of them hurriedly rushed to him. Before he could pick up his revolver they stood at his head with their guns pointing at him. Navin punched him hard on his face and he fell on the floor.

 

"Raj tu dekh isko main Naina ke paas jaa raha hoon."

He hurriedly left the place. Rajveer kicked the terrorist on his chin. He was bleeding badly. It calmed Rajveer a little bit but the only thing that could calm him completely was being with Naina.

 

Maya immediately pulled him back or he would have kicked him again.

"Forget about him... Tum Naina ke paas jao. She needs you more than anyone else. Isko main dekh lungi. Waise bhi ab yeh kahan jaayega. Hamari hi custody mein hai."

"Are you sure you can manage."

"Yes Raj. Tum jao."

"Thanks Maya."

 

He turned to leave but Maya stopped him.

"Do tell her how much you love her. She'll feel much better."

He smiled and blushed a little. He nodded tapping his fingers on her head and ran downstairs.

Naina's condition was worse than what he thought it to be. She was very scared. Her eyes had swollen because of crying. Her hairs were unkempt. Her cheeks had traces of dried tears and on the other side it was red and also had a small cut. One of her jacket sleeves was badly soaked in blood and she was shivering. She was in tears and had clenched Navin's shirt tightly in her fist. She was trying to say something but she failed miserably.

 

Her smile, her liveliness, her mischievious smirk and her charm nothing was there. Rajveer could not stand her condition and ran to her loosing all the control he had managed to keep on himself all this while. He kept his hand on her head. She looked at him. Her tears were becoming uncontrollable. All her pain was flowing out. He pulled her tighter into his arm and she also clung to him.

 

They were pulling each other harder into themselves comforting each other with the warmth of their togetherness. She closed her eyes tightly and hid her face in his chest, sobbing. He was holding her as tightly as possible while his eyes were fixed at her wounded arm. He kissed her on her shoulder and then on her cheek.

 

After a few minutes Naina looked calmer.

"Sab theek hai Naina." Rajveer told her rubbing her back.

Naina tried to find words and her breathe in between her dying sobs. She parted and looked straight into his eyes.

"Alekh..." She finally said in an extremely weak voice.

 

Somehow Rajveer didn't like his mention at this moment and her concern for him clearly in her eyes was bothering him. His grip on her shoulder loosened.

"They shot him..." She continued after a small pause.

"I know." His reply was rather curt.

"They were targeting me.... Woh log..... mujhe..... maarna chaahte the... Alekh was.... trying to.... protect me... Woh to sirf..." She was again sobbing.

 

Rajveer realized that her concern was more genuine and reasonable than his uneasiness. Realising his mistake he again took her in embrace.

"Maya arranged timely medical aid for him. He is going to be fine. Trust me."

 

His words were quite re-assuring for her. A few more minutes and Naina looked better. She was calm.

 

From the moment Rajveer had entered the room there was a pain more than evident on his face. Even he now looked relaxed. This could not escape Navin's eyes. He was actually shocked to see them so close and comfortable in each other's arms. Two of them had literally forgotten the presence of Navin and Neetika and they didn't even realize when Maya also joined them in.

 

"Ahem... ahem." Navin broke the silence and reminded them of others' presence. They parted as they realized it. Navin was giving them a cold stare. Both of them were feeling awkward.

"Navin woh..." Rajveer tried to explain him.

"Naina ko ghar le ke jaa. We'll talk about it later. Hum log yahan ka kaam dekh lenge."

 

Rajveer didn't felt like arguing and Naina's condition stopped him further from doing this. He quietly agreed and left with Naina.

 

"Were they not supposed to be faking a relationship?" Navin asked Neetika as they left.

She smiled and shook her head. But suddenly her expressions changed.

"Wait a minute... Maya how did you know ki I know Naina."

Maya just smiled in reply.

"Matlab you knew about two of them aur shayad yeh bhi ki she is Navin's sister."

"Well yes... But just accidentally."

"I don't believe this." Navin was looking quite amused.

Rajveer helped Naina sit on her bed. She was limping. He fetched the first aid box and sat next to her. He gently removed her jacket. The slit on her arm wasn't too deep but considering that Naina was too delicate for all this it looked bad. There was a swelling around her wound. He softly held her arm and cleaned the wound.Naina was looking at him unblinkingly as he did the dressing. She could not feel its pain. His touch was too magical to let any other feeling overpower. The cut on her face had started healing. It was too minor. Rajveer found a bruise on her elbow. He folded her Capri slightly upwards to bare her bruised knee. There wasn't any other injury but she was shaken deep down. She was unsuaually quiet and her eyes showed something he could not understand. But he could see that they were wet.

 

"Kya hua?" He asked her softly.

She remained quiet for a while still looking at him and adoring him.

"You know... For once I thought I won't be able to see you again."

"Kyun mujhpe bharosa nahin tha kya?"

"Tumpe to tha... But destiny pe nahin tha."

"Maine kaha tha na zyada sochna tumhein suit nahin karta. Hamari destiny mein yehi hai ki we will always be together. And do you know why?"

"Why?"

 

He smiled and kissed on her cheek over the cut.

"Because I love you."

A big smile ran over her face. She clung to him and a tear rolled down her cheek.

"I love you too Raj."

 

They sat there holding each other for a while. She could feel his finger over her shoulder slipping down the strap of her top. He unzipped it from behind and removed the other strap from her shoulder. She held him tighter. He was running his fingers over her bare back caressing and tickling it.

 

It sent quivers to her heart. She kissed him on his neck. Rajveer pulled her away from himself. He lied her down and himself lied over her pressing her body hard with his own.
