PART 34

 

Aaliya tried to concentrate on her work, but Aamir did not

 allow her to do so, he kept popping in and out of her head,

distracting her.

 

It was about 10 at night and after trying to concentrate and

finishing only half on what had to be done, Aaliya decided to

go home.

 

She had placed everything in order when she heard a knock

on the door.

 

" Come in."

 

Aaliya was surprised to see Nahira.

 

" Going home Ma'am?"

 

" Yes Nahira, do you have some work for me?"

 

" No actually, I was leaving and thought I should say, umm, …"

 

" Apology excepted dear." Aaliya said with a wink.

 

Nahira looked relieved.

 

" Lets go." Aaliya said to Nahira as she opened the

door to allow her to step out first.

 

" Sure."

 

Aaliya tried to slow down her pace, so that Nahira could keep up.

 

The walk all the way outside was filled with silence.

 

Aaliya was about to sit in her car, and Nahira too

was going to do the same, when Aaliya saw something move.

 

Nahira too had noticed it, as she too had an astonished

 look on her face and had her eyes exactly where Aaliya had hers.

 

Both of them closed their doors and came closer to each other,

their eyes still fixed on the spot.

 

" Did you see what I saw?" Aaliya asked Nahira.

 

" Yes Ma'am but I am not sure what was that I saw."

 

" I am too not certain, anyway lets leave, and

I'll see you tomorrow at work." Aaliya said, trying to

 divert her mind, but her eyes were still fixed to the place.

 

" Sure Ma'am."

 

" You can call me Aaliya, but only after the office hours."

 Aaliya said with a teasing smile.

 

Nahira nodded, " Bye Aaliya, see you tomorrow."

 

Both got into their cars and drove themselves home.

 

Aaliya reached home, and after she was done with all her work,

 she got into bed and tried to think of all that she did today.

 

" Why did I feel that I hate this place? It seems good so far."

 Said a voice inside Aaliya.

 

" So far, but we never know how the rest of the days will be like."

 Said Aaliya out loud.

 

Aaliya closed her mind to all foreign thoughts and fell asleep.

 

Aaliya was right in saying " so far" as the next few days

were just dreadful.

 

The first few days went along fine but later on, things

 started getting out of hand.

 

Aaliya had changed Nahira a lot and they became good

friends but she had also landed in a lot of trouble.

 

Aaliya was facing problems at home, as someone tried to

get into her house, and she had no idea who it was.

 

At work nobody seemed to be listening to her, they did as

they pleased, landing not only themselves, but Aaliya also

in trouble.

 

Aaliya was greatly troubled with all that was going on.

 

Aaliya went home that night, and found the window glass

was shattered everywhere.

 

She was fed up with this life, she did not want to live in the

 US any longer, but she did not have any other option.

 

Aaliya reached home, parked her vehicle and was about to

 step inside the house when she saw a faint outline of someone

 trying to hide behind a tree.

 

She gathered up all the courage she had in her and started

 towards it.
