Nahira knocked at the door a few minutes later.

 

" Come in." Aaliya said in an irritated voice as she had started

to work on a few files waiting for Nahira to arrive

and was annoyed on being disturbed.

 

Nahira entered and closed the door behind her.

 

" So when do I have to leave this place. You would

have not called me here to give me a promotion, so

it's obvious that I am being fired." Nahira said in an

arrogant voice, but Aaliya seemed to find a pinch of

guiltiness in it as well.

 

" This is what I wanted to talk to you about Nahira,

do take a seat."

 

Nahira obeyed.

 

" I know what you did last night was wrong, very wrong,

I might add, but this is no reason that I am going to fire

 a person without giving him or her another chance."

 

There was a pause of like two seconds, during which

Aaliya could see Nahira's eyes had a guilty feeling in them,

and so Aaliya understood that Nahira had gotten some sense

 into her.

 

" I would give you another chance Nahira, if you can assure

me that this type of an incident will not be repeated again, ever."

 

" I can assure you that Ma'am…"

 

A pause, which was very much out of the ordinary

 prevailed between them for a split second.

 

" Ma'am I am really sorry for the way I behaved, actually

 I was very irritated, and that day at work, I showed someone

 else's anger on you."

 

" I understood that, but if I would have let that pass by,

the impression it would leave on other people will be bad,

so I was forced to do what I did."

 

" Thanks again Ma'am, I am very sorry."

 

" Not at all a problem, now I think you should go back to work,

I have to answer my father on how things are here." Aaliya

said winking her eye.

 

Nahira nodded and left the place.

 

Aaliya knew that Nahira was good from the heart and rough on the outside, and she was glad she was right.
