CHAPTER 3
Still gripping onto eachother for dear life, their lips still entertwined amongst the others: they moved one step and another back. Soon their bodies slammed into a tree, Kripa's back first. Angad put one of his arms around her waist and another next to her on the tree.
The kiss got longer and deeper until Angad's lips followed a trail of sweat down Kripa's neck, as he moved downward she opened her eyes and realized what was happening.
She quickly panicked and pushed him away.
"Kripa, I'm really sorry…I don't know what happened to me…I'm really.." He tried to continue but the look of disbelief in Kripa's eyes had just killed him. He could not believe himself. He felt ashamed but at the same time strangely accomplished. Why had he felt such an attraction for Kripa, the girl he had always hated…this confused feeling left him speechless for the rest of the night.
Kripa, on the other hand, was not disgusted by Angad's actions but was actually calmly wondering why had even considered kissing her. As far she knew, Angad never kissed a girl without sweet talking her first. No flirting, no warnings. Just a kiss? One AMAZING kiss. Kripa's first kiss. she knew she had spent it on someone worthwhile.
As Kripa pondered, Angad (seriously) tried to fix the car. Just then a black BMW drove almost past them and stopped. They both stood and wondered who it was, who sat behind those UV protected windows.
A girl stepped out. 'Thank god' Kripa thought. Tina stepped out, smiling radiantly at Angad. 'Oh God, not Tina…' Kripa could already see the rest of the trip home: Angad driving with Tina in the passenger side seat and Kripa all by herself in the back listening to Angad and Tina flirt with each other. She knew she was bound to turn herself green. Truth was, somewhere deep in her heart she was jumping for joy that she would have to spend the night alone with Angad. And Tina just tore her hopes to pieces.
Kripa (thinking):What if he asked her to the dance? Oh god…
Angad (thinking): Da**, isko bhi abhi hi aana tha?
Kripa: Angad!
Angad: What?
Kripa: I'll go to the dance with you. (thinking.) So much for yearning for my answer. Whatever, I'd rather go with that fool, than he go with my best friend.
Tina: Did you just say you're going to the dance with Angad?
Kripa: Uhh…yeah. Why?
Tina: I just…thought…you guys…hated each other.
Kripa and Angad: Oh, we do.
Tina: Okay?
Kripa and Angad: We're making a statement.
Tina: Which would be?
Kripa: Love thy neighbor?
Tina: Huh?
Kripa: Yeah, the Bible says you should. And even Gandhi did. So we should promote it, na?
Angad: Yeah, Gandhi was always saying stuff that Jesus said. The whole turn the other cheek thing. Total knockoff! I don't know why they call it gandhigiri…they should call it Jesusgiri.
Kripa: Um…yeah…?
Tina: Sure? I'm going with my boyfriend, Ranjit. I'm promoting love thy boyfriend.
Kripa: So mundane? Pssht, typical.
Tina: Tho chale?
Kripa: I call shotgun.
Angad: I'm driving!
Tina: Ugh, fine. I'll just text Ranjit, he misses me a lot more since the break-up.
Angad: No dur, dipstick.
Tina: So we got back together.
Kripa: (sarcastically) You don't say?
~Okay, it's not that long but I have exams. 8 days left of school! I have a couple of projects due and some summer homework for my AP classes. I'm a 15 yr old freshman at the Health Sciences Academy so don't blow my head off if my next couple of chapters aren't that long (or good)
Thanks much!~
