Chapter 4
CHAPTER 4
When they FINALLY got back, they had to back to Angad's place since the Sharmas were not home. They entered quite awkwardly and immediately sat on opposite ends of the living room. Then a slightly taller, attractive mid-20's man walked in with amazingly gorgeous deep chocolate eyes…this was of course, Angad's older brother Kartik.
Kartik: Are you guys okay?
Angad (lost in his thoughts): What? Yeah, I'm fine.
A lie, he was still thinking about his shamefully prideful kiss. He winced at the thought.
Kartik: Kripa?
Kripa (in a trance): Kya? Yeah, it's all good.
Kartik: You guys sure? I mean I haven't heard an insult out of you two all day.
"Um…Kripa, I hate you?" Angad replied quite unenthusiastically.
"Same here." She answered monotone.
Angad and Kripa then turned to Kartik and said simultaneously: (Kripa) Khush? (Angad) Happy?
Kartik: Whatever, you guys are creeping me out.
Following his disgusted one liner, he proceeded to exit.
Kripa and Angad sat in the silence for a few more minutes. Kripa pretended to examine her nails as Angad was fulfilling his fascination with his shoes. Then Aaliya, Angad's sister walks in.
"Dang, who died?" she questioned as she sat down, grabbing a magazine.
"No one, your brother is just a supreme idiot." Kripa
"Hey! I said I was sorry for kissing you out there today!" Angad screamed defensively, with his overly dramatic outbreak Kartik came back in the room wide-eyed. Kripa turned red at the mention of the event.
"I was actually talking about the lab assignment we never got to do, and how YOU just caused us to fail Mrs. Roshan's chemistry class." Kripa glared at him, correcting his overly informative description of the problem.
"Oh, well I'm sorry. It's not my fault!" Angad yelled.
"Yes actually if you weren't wasting your time with that slut in your lap we might have actually gotten something done." Kripa yelled louder than Angad.
"Jealous much, are we?" Angad asked smirking, teasing, and still yelling.
"What nonsense? I'm gonna be jealous of one of your barely dressed b****es? Puh-lease!"
"Tina was pretty well dressed, nah?"
"Yeah, so? What exactly is the point you are TRYING to make?"
"Point is, this has NOTHING to do with Anjali's dressing sense! You can't stand me being with some other girl! You CANNOT stand me being happy!"
"I don't want you to be happy? You've had another friggin girlfriend every day of the week! Did I say anything to you! Didn't think so!"
"But I saw you turning green out there. When I mentioned Tina, I saw your expression."
"Tina is my best friend, okay?"
"And me?"
"What about you?!"
"WHY THE H*** ARE YOU GOING OUT WITH ME TO THE DANCE?!?!?!?!?!"
"CUZ I FRIGGIN FEEL LIKE IT!!! GAWD!!!!! You're the one who asked!"
"You were supposed to say no!"
"What? Why'd you ask then?"
"I DON'T KNOW!"
"YOU KNOW WHAT?!?!? SCREW YOU! INFACT, GO HAVE A SCREW YOURSELF PARTY!!!!!!! CUZ IM OUT!!! YOU AND YOUR NONSENSE!"
"YEAH B****, YOU TOO! F**** YOU TOO!"
The incomplete screaming contest was prematurely ended by the fuming Angad and Kripa leaving to two separate rooms, leaving a flabbergasted Aaliya and Kartik behind.
"Whoa…" Aaliya.
"What just happened?" Kartik
"I think fire and ice are dating each other…" Aaliya
"Going to the dance?" Kartik
"Yeah, I think so…" Aaliya
"Lost?" Kartik
"Yeah." Aaliya
"Me too." Kartik
"Whatever, Kasamh Se is on, I'm out." Aaliya.
"Hey, guess what?" Kartik
"What?" Aaliya.
"I like cheese." Kartik.
Aaliya walked away with that random thought. And with that, the remaining two left.
CHAPTER 5
So not nearly the best of friends, but they were still important. They felt a bit of withdrawal without the other, not a very significant one but nonetheless a slight emptiness in some corner of their heart.
Kripa, Angad thought,…hmmm. Kripa Sharma. He whipped out a small black diary out of his drawer, opened it to a blank page, and scrawled in his messy but legible handwriting.
Kripa Sharma…I don't understand that girl quite honestly. She has such a quick and bad temper. She's so serious all the time. All work, no play. I wish she could have fun. She needs to chillax. furreal. She's one of those girls that are all about pleasing her parents: or parents in general. My parents love her. It's funny how my parents love her but her parents hate me. I'm the guy every mother tells her daughter to stay away from, but they must really trust me with their Kripa. Actually, Kripa's mom is kinda cool with me, it's her dad that's always trying to burn a hole through me…lol. I think it's my responsibility to teach her how to chill, you know. Me being the sexiest guy she'll ever encounter, she should probably take advantage of this before I…find better things to do. But after we get back to being mean to each other. This awkwardness deal is no fun. Damn, that broken down car screwed everything up. I can't believe I did some of those things out there that night. THAT was not me out there that was some emotional fool caught up in the moment. I don't even know why I kissed her honestly. Lyke seriously, why did I do that? More importantly, why did I like it? The million dollar question: Why did I like it…so much? I've never felt that way through a kiss before. I wonder what she felt…Whatev, I'm thinking bout this WAY too much. We still have to "make up" (or whatever is Kripa's demented version of that) and then I think I'll take her to a party or something, Jesus, she needs it. lol. Maybe theyre's someone under that salwar kameez besides uptight Kripa. Maybe..haha. Doubt it, but everything's worth trying.
Somewhere in the Sharma house, Kripa lay on a bed upside down hair flowing to the beige carpet writing in a fluffy pink Tinkerbell diary.
Angad can really piss me off sometimes. He's so random and irresponsible. I don't know what will become of that boy. He's just so dumb. I just failed Chemistry because of him, omg. I've never failed anything before in my life. Why? Because his dumb car broke down on some dumb road and then it began raining. It was terrible. Then he kissed me! I don't know what he was thinking. Oh my god, it lasted like 4 minutes. It was amazing! I don't think he knows that was my first kiss. But anyways, afterwards he apologized. That made no sense to me. Why would anyone kiss anyone and apologize? Did he seriously not mean it? I don't really care anymore but he needs to learn some responsibility. One day, he's gonna wake up and see there's no one there to baby him. He needs to learn to do things himself. To prioritize, to organize, to get things done. No wonder Papa doesn't like him, Papa is a workaholic and Angad is a rich bum. I hope he'll grow up some day soon.
They were different people, with different priorities but they always knew they had ONE thing in common: if everything were to change, ONE thing would always stay constant…
~Okay, we ALL pretty much know what that one thing is…so if you want you can guess. Sorry its kinda short but it's all I can do on demand. I promise better next time.~
