Chapter 11
Part 11
"Is Kripa ok?"
The doctor stepped to the side and walked past Angad, he held Kripa's wrist and checked her pulse rate then looked back at Angad
"She's doing fine Mr Khanna"
"Then what happened to her?" Armaan spoke up
"Has she been under any stress lately?" the doctor asked
Angad shook his head
"Well it may be a good sign that she might be getting her memory back or it could merely be that she had a lot of things on her mind causing her to over stress, never the less, we'll keep her here overnight just to monitor her"
The doctor left the room, Angad went back to Kripa's side and sat on the chair while Armaan went and sat on the armchair.
"Armaan you should go home" Angad spoke when he noticed Armaan yawning.
"You just got here, you're probably jet lagged, go on go home" Angad spoke again
Armaan shook his head
"If you came to the US and something happened to Riddhima then would you simply leave me at the hospital and go home?"
Angad kept silent
"Thought so" Armaan said as he stretched his legs and rested his head back against the wall.
A few hours went by, by that time Armaan was fully asleep but Angad was still awake in case Kripa woke up, his eyes felt drowsy and sleepy but he tried his best to stay awake but all failed as a few minutes later he fell asleep with his head resting on Kripa's hand.
Kripa opened her eyes slowly, her eyes adjusted to the bright light shining in from the window, she looked around herself and realised she was in a hospital, she saw Armaan sleeping on the arm chair and felt something heavy on her hand, she looked and found Angad also sleeping, she smiled at him looking ever so innocent and sweet, she struggled to move not wanting to wake Angad but to her disappointment, the minute she flinched Angad woke. His head jerked up and his eyes opened wide as he saw Kripa smiling at him.
"Kripa, when did you wake up?"
"Just now"
Angad got up from the chair and helped her sit up in the bed, he sat back down and took her hand in his again and smiled.
"How are you feeling?"
"I'm ok, a little hungry"
Angad nodded his head and got up, he kssed her cheek lightly then left the room and informed the doctor that Kripa had woken and told the nurse to bring her something to eat.
The doctor came into the room again and checked Kripa, he smiled and faced Angad
"She's much better now, she'll be discharged in the morning"
Armaan thanked the doctor then sat on the other side of Kripa's bed
"So you're ok now?"
"Yes Armaan, I'm fine, I guess I was a bit strssed and tired from the house work"
Angad frowned
"That's it, when you get home you're completely bed ridden"
"But Angad.." Kripa tried to argue
"No buts Kripa, what if this was something serious? You need to start taking care of yourself" Angad exclaimed
"OK, but who will make breakast and lunch and dinner? You always wake up late"
"I don't care Kripa, as soon as you get home, I won't let you set a foot off the bed"
Armaan grinned as he watched Angad and Kripa argue over whether she needed complete bed rest or not, he shook his head as he realised how much they resembled him and his girlfriend Riddhima, he chuckled to himself remembering what Angad had said about being uncomfortable with her after what happened, but if anyone saw the two together they would automatically assume the pair were married let alone a couple, they sure argued as much as married couples do. Armaan watched as Angad began feeding Kripa the soup that the nurse had bought in, Angad had been the one who was feeling guilty about being with Kripa yet at that moment it seemed like she was all that mattered to him. Armaan made it a point to make Angad see that there was something between him and Kripa, he might even be in love with her. Armaan shook his head and sat back down and continued to watch the two of them.
*************
Angad opened the front door and helped Kripa inside, Armaan walked past them and went into the living room while Angad took Kripa upstairs to their room. Angad made Kripa lie in bed despite her many protests, but she had given up in rying to reason with him, he wasn't going to let her do anything so she might as well enjoy the pampering Angad was going to give her.
She lay in bed and rested her head against the wall, Angad kissed her forehead and began to leave but Kripa held onto his hand, he looked back at her and sat back down, she took his hand in hers and smiled.
"Angad, we haven't....spoke about that night"
Angad breathed deeply, he knew she was going to want to talk about what happened between them and he had even mentally prepared himself for it, but somehow the moment she mentioned it, his stomach felt funny.
"What about it?" Angad spoke softly
Kripa hugged him and closed her eyes and whispered
"It was....amazing, I love you Angad, I always thought I did before, but now I know"
Angad sighed not knowing what to say, he pulled back and kissed her lips softly
"Get some rest"
He forced her to lie down then covered her with the blanket and left the room. He found Armaan standing outside by the stairs.
"That's Adi's room right?" Armaan asked while pointing to Aditya's room, Angad nodded his head and took out the key from around his neck and unlocked the door, he pushed it open and went in, Armaan followed him and closed the door behind him.
Armaan glanced around the room, there were boxes on the floor, photos scattered here and there, the curtains were shut and there was dust everywhere, he walked around the room looking at the photos of Angad and Aditya, he looked at the photos carefully, then looked back at Angad. He had really changed, in the photos Angad looked happy and cheerful and carefree, but the Angad that stood in front of him looked like he had the wight of the world on his shoulders.
Angad picked up a photograph of Aditya and Kripa and showed it to Armaan.
"I feel like I've taken Bhai's place in her life"
Armaan glanced at Angad and put the photo down, he put his hand on Angad shoulder and pulled him towards him hugging him, and for the first time in months Angad cried. He cried for the loss of his brother and for how guilty he felt. Armaan comforted him and allowed him to cry, it was better that way, it would at least make sure Angad felt a little less burdened than he felt right then.
After a few minutes Angad pulled back and wiped his tears away, he smiled nervously at Armaan.
"You should rest aswell, I'll take you to your room"
Armaan nodded his head and followed Angad out of the room, he waited patiently as Angad locked the room and put the ket around his neck. Angad then led him to the spare room.
"Sorry I didn't have time to clean it up a bit, you told me last minute" Angad said as he picked up some papers lying around.
"No problem" replied Armaan as he picked up his bag and took some clothes out.
"I'll leave you to it then"
Angad left the room and went back into his room, Kripa was sleeping peacefully, he stripped his shirt and trousers off and pulled on a pair of pjyamas and a t shirt then got into bed. He watched Kripa breathing softly then smiled, Armaan was right, he saved Kripa's life by getting intimate, only then did he realise how precious Kripa's life was to him, if something had happened to her when she fainted, he wasn't sure he would have the ability to carry on in life. He sighed assuringly then put the blanket over him and for the first time, actually put his arm around Kripa's waist as he slept.
She lay in bed and rested her head against the wall, Angad kissed her forehead and began to leave but Kripa held onto his hand, he looked back at her and sat back down, she took his hand in hers and smiled.
