Chapter 26

Veer and Dharam remained in Sumaina for further two days as the engagement was set for then. They spent the days together going here and there and doing this and that. During these days all of them got to know each other more closely and their love also grew day by day.

 

Two days later

 

Veer: Dharam ab to sab kuch hogaya hai to waapis Aryanagar chale

 

All the other three looked towards him with shock as to what was he saying

 

Dharam: yeh kya kehraho Veer aaj to hamaree mangnee hai

 

Veer: ha me jaanta hu per tum Rajkumari Sia se kese mangnee karsakte ho? Tumhaaree shaadi to Rajkumari Antara se the huwi hai or tumne hee to kaha tha ke tum osse…

 

Sia: (quite upset) kya aapne yeh kaha tha?

 

Dharam: (trying to defend himself) are..are nahi Sia hamne aisa nahi kaha tha (gives Veer a glare) hamne kab aisa kaha tha Veer?

 

Veer: itnee jaldi bhool gaye (hides a mischievious grin) kal raat ko hee to tumne mujhe bataya tha ke tumhe Aryanagar kee parampara or aadarsh ko barkaraar rakhna hai to shaadi bhi to tum Antara se hee karoge na

 

Sia: acha (clearly angry) agar aapko yehi chaheeye to theek hai. Aap Aryavrat, apne Aryanagar kee parampara ko jaari rakhye. Phir ham koun hote hai beech me aane waale.

 

She walks off upset and angry with Dharam.

 

Dharam: are Sia hamaree baat to suno…ruko…(then he finds Veer laughing out loud which makes him even more annoyed) yeh kya mazaak tha Veer? Itna bara jhooth bole ne kee kya zaroorat thi

 

Veer: are itne dino se sab aise ghum sum apne me hee khoye khoye ghoom rahe the to maine socha ke thora mausam badla jaaye

 

Ananya: yeh kya harkat thi Veer? (is angry with him) mazaak bhi koi aisa karta hai, khamakha Sia ka dil dukhaa diya. (she is also upset with him) sach me kabhi kabhi to aisee harkate karte hai aap ke…

 

She also walks away angry and upset with him.

 

Veer: ab ise kya hogaya maine thori na ise kuch kaha tha

 

Dharam: (flips the back of Veer's head) yeh sab tumhaaree wajese huwa hai. Are itna acha chalraha tha ke tumne yeh baadha daal diya.

 

He also walks away angry and upset with him.

 

Veer: (to himself innocently) kamaal hai, her koi mujhse hee naraaz hai. Yaha pe koi mazaak le bhi sakta hai ke nahi? (shakes his head) ab to mujhe hee kuch karna parega kyu ke Dharam to kuch nahi karne waala.

 

He goes off looking for everyone and the first person he finds is Sia. He goes to her and finds her still cross and he just smiles and goes to her anyways.

 

Sia: (sees him and turns away irately) ab kya kehne aaye hai aap? Or kuch bhi rehgaya hai kya?

 

Veer: are are aap mujhpe kyu naraaz horahee hai. Ab yeh sab maine thori na kaha hai.

 

Sia: (is cross) samajhte kya hai Maharaj apne aapko. Jab chaaha pakar liya or jab chaaha chore diya. Onhe yeh sab karne ka haq kisne de diya

 

Veer: (looks at her and then thinks of a mischivious plan again) sahi to hai, koi haq nahi banta osse. Iska kya matlab huwa ke jab chaaha kisee se rishta tore diya or jab chaaha kisee se rishta jore liya. (on purpose ignites more fire) aisa thori na hota hai, kamaal hai

 

Sia: ab ham bhi onse kabhi nahi milenge or baat bhi nahi karenge

 

Veer: bilkul aisa hee karna tabhi to samajh me aayega ose. Oske saat sakti se hee peish aaogee tabhi to wo sudhrega

 

Sia walks off and Veer laughs as he knew more sparks were going to be thrown.

 

Then Veer went to find Ananya to console her as he didn't want her to be upset.

 

Ananya: aap ne jo kiya wo theek nahi kiya Veer

 

Veer: me maanta hu ke meri wajese Sia ka dil dukha per tum mujhse kyu naraaz hogayee

 

Ananya: hamari behen udaas ho or ham khush rahe

 

Veer: (goes and puts his hands on both her shoulders) acha chalo mujhe maaf kardo

 

Ananya: maafi hamse nahi Sia se maangni hogi

 

Veer: wo to me maang chukka hu (she gives him a surprised look) ha balke ab to wo Dharam ke paas chalee bhi gayee hongi. Chalo, chalke dekhte hai

 

He takes her hand and goes off towards Dharam's room. He knew the show was going to be worth seeing and he didn't want to miss it.

 

Dharam's room

 

He was thinking about how to console Sia when she came marching in. he was happy to see she had returned and was going towards her but she stopped him midway.

 

Sia: ziada khush hone kee zaroorat nahi. Ham yaha pe sirf aapko yeh kehne aaye hai ke ab aapki man maani nahi chalegee hamare saath

 

Dharam: dekho Sia tum abhi bhi hame ghalat samajh rahee ho. Dekho Veer ne tumse ghalat kaha tha hamne aisa kuch nahi kaha

 

Sia: ab aapko safai dene kee zaroorat nahi. Veer ne sahi hee kaha tha, aap ke saath sakti karne se hee sudharne waale hai aap

 

Dharam: Kya! (is disappointed) Veer…Veer ne aisa kaha? (bites his teeth) Os Veer ko to ham…

 

Sia: bus bohat hogaya. Apni ghalati chupaane ke liye baar baar hamesha dusro ko kyu doshi theraate hai aap?

 

Dharam: Sia hamaree baat to… (He pauses as he hears sniggering. He turns and finds Veer laughing his head off at the situation.) Veer! Aaj ham tumhe zinda nahi chorenge

 

Dharam runs after Veer and Veer quickly dodges him and runs aay. Dharam keeps chasing him as he was very angry with him and Veer just kept laughing and teasing him more. Meanwhile Ananya went to Sia and explained to her that it was just Veer's mischief and nothing else. Dharam really didn't say anything. Sia realized her mistake and she quickly went towards Dharam and hugged him. Veer stopped and teased him further and Dharam became a bit embarrassed and moved Sia apart.

 

Sia: hame maaf kardijye Dharam, hamne khamakha aapko itna kuch suna diya

 

Dharam: koi baat nahi Sia kyu ke wese bhi (glares at Veer) yeh kisee or kee ghalati thi

 

Veer: (rolls his eyes) theek hai theek hai (holds both his ears) mujhe maaf kardijye bhabhi me to sirf mazaak karaha tha. Dharam sirf aapse pyaar karta hai or sirf aapse hee shaadi karega

 

Both Sia and Dharam look towards each other and give shy smiles.

 

Veer: yeh acha hai, mujhe shukriyada karne ke bajai mujhse maafi mangwaa rahe ho tum

 

Dharam: (confused) kya matlab?

 

Sakshi comes through hearing the conversation

 

Sakshi: matlab yeh Dharam bhaiya ke agar Veer bhaiya ne aap dono ko ek saath milane kee yojna nahi banayee hoti to phir aaj aap ek saath nahi hote

 

Dharam: kesee yojna?

 

Sakshi: jab aap Aryanagar waapis lautke aaye the zakhmi haalat me tabhi hamne Veer bhaiya ko Bhavanipur me jo huwa tha wo sab bataya. To bus oske baad hamne yojna banayee yeh dekhne ke liye ke aakhir aap dono me chal kya raha hai (gives a teasing smile) or maana parega ke baat yaha tak pohoch jaaehgee kabhi socha nahi tha

 

Sia: to iska matlab wo sandesh aapne bhijwaaya tha? (towards Veer)

 

Veer: ab hamare bhole se, (makes a cute face) nadaan se maharaj se to yeh hone se raha. Agar inke bharose reh jaate to jab aap 50 saal ki hojaati tab jaake yeh din aata

 

All of them laugh except for Dharam

 

Dharam: bara maza aaraha hai na hamara mazaak uraane me? (holds Sakshi's ear) or tum Sakshi, tumbhi in sab me milee huwee thee kyu

 

Sakshi: (tries releasing herself) are bhaiya me to sirf aapki madad karahee thee. Ab maaf bhi kardo na

 

Dharam: (is serious for sometime and then surprisingly gives a wide grin) jao maaf kiya (gives her a light flip on the back of her head)

 

All was well as all happiness had returned. That evening the engagement took place in great pomp and show.

 

A week later was the wedding and both Aryanagar and Sumaina were lit up and festivities were all around. People celebrated every where. The wedding was also done in pomp and show and then the arrival in Aryanagar was grand. There was double happiness as the maharani of Aryanagar was arriving as well as the rajkumari of Aryanagar. Both of them were welcomed with showers of flowers and plenty of daasis running in front and behind them, escorting them inside the mahal to their respective rooms.

 

Veer's room

 

Ananya sat on the bed in her bridal attire waiting for Veer to enter. He slowly came and sat next to her on the bed and then lifted her face to see her.

 

Veer: tum khush to hona

 

Ananya: aaj hame dunya kee saari khushiya milgayee to phir ham khush hee honge na

 

Veer hugged her and both were really happy in their union of two souls.  

 

Dharam's room

 

Sia also sat on the bed waiting for Dharam but she was nervous. Dharam was also nervous coming towards her as this was all quite new for him. He didn't know the right ways but he did try. He came and sat next to her and lifted her face.

 

Dharam: ab to tumhe koi shikaayat nahi hai na

 

Sia: hame aapse kabhi koi shikayat nahi thi. sach poochye to hame hamesha sirf apne aapse hee shikayat rahee hai ke ham aisa kyu sochte hai or ham aisa kyu karte hai

 

Dharam: ham tumse waada karte hai Sia ke ham tumhe shikayat ka kabhi moka nahi denge. Ha per agar kabhi bhi tumhe aisa lage to tum hame jo chaahe saza de saktee ho

 

Sia: (is amused) hame yakeen hai ke aisee naubat kabhi nahi aaehgee. Ham bhi aapse waada karte hai ke ham bhi aapko her tarha se khush rakhne kee koshish karenge or agar hamse nahi huwa to aap bhi hame jo chaahe saza de sakte hai

 

Dharam: osse pehle ham apne aapko hee saza de denge Sia. Aapko takleef pohochaa ke jee nahi paaenge ham. Mar jaaenge…

 

Sia: (covers his mouth with her hand) aisa mat kahiye maharaj.

 

Dharam slowly removes her hand away from his mouth and gives a soft kiss on her palm, she becomes shy and then he gradually pulls her closer and they both hug too. Their happiness was beyond explanation.

 

Several days later a jashan was held place in Aryanagar celebrating their wedding. All the raajyas were invited and one surprising and different thing was present. Dharam was a changed man altogether. Instead of looking down at people with coneit and pride he welcomed them all with honour and respect. He mingled with everyone having a happy chat. Sia couldn't believe this was the same Dharam. The same Dharam she had met in a jashan like this months ago, where he wasn't even ready to look in the eye of anyone and here he was enjoying a laugh with them. She just enjoyed watching him do that.

 

Ananya: kya dekhrahee ho Sia?

 

Sia: waqt kitna badal gaya hai na Ananya? Log bhi kitne badal gaye hai

 

Ananya: or sabse agar koi badal gaya hai to wo ho tum, or Maharaj Dharam

 

Sia: sahi kaha. Insaan to wesa he rehta hai sirf oski soch badal jaatee hai or hamare liye bhi yehi tha na. Pehle isee mehfil me hamne sabke saamne inkaar kiya tha ke ham kabhi bhi Maharaj Dharam se koi rishta nahi rakhenge or aaj dekho ham onhee ke saath is mehfil me sabke saamne yeh kehrahe hai ke hame onse kitna pyaar hai.

 

Veer: yeh to hona hee tha (joined them) aakhir ek na ek din inkaar ko pyaar me badal na hee tha

 

All of them agree and then Dharam comes towards them and tells them to join him. All of them go together and all the on lookers just keep staring in awe at the two couples as they were made for each other. There was only love and no hate.
