Revealing truths pt2

 

Dharam returned back to Dayavardhan's mahal completely disturbed by everything Sia accused him of. Her words kept ringing in his ears. Sia also was left with a heavy heart after he left and she had sunk into her chair letting out painful tears. She had never expected him to be so low. She knew he was arrogant and proud but somewhere she could see he also had a soft spot but after what he did with Ananya she lost all the leftover respect she had for him. Then he came up and proposed to her out of the blue and that too in such an indecent way that who wouldn't have had reacted the way she did. Even if he hadn't meddled with Veer and Ananya's relationship she still would have rejected him on the proposal.

 

As Dharam reached the steps leading into the mahal he paused when he recalled her words…

 

"Hamara aapke baare me jo faisla tha wo aisa nahi hota agar aap hamse insaano kee tarha paish aate naake jaanwaro kee tarha. Koi insaan apni pehchaan se bara ya chota nahi hota, wo to apne sanskaaro se hota hai. Jo insaan kisee or kee izzat nahi karsakta oskee izzat koi kya karega. Ek baat or ham aapko bata de ke ek raja apnee praja se hee banta hai or aap to wo dhoore dhoore tak nahi."

 

With frustration he strode in ignoring the quizzical looks from Anjali and then Maharaj Dayavardhan also came but Dharam just went to his room.

 

Sia lied on her bed but it was too hard to fall asleep as his words kept ringing in her ears. Of how he insulted her and her family's status and then claimed that he loved her. He didn't even know the meaning of love.

 

"Kya sochtee thee ke kya ham apne aapko khush naseeb samajhte ke hame aisa insaan pasand aaya hai jo hamaree barabari kabhi karhee nahi sakta?...kya ham khush hote yeh soch kar ke jis insaan ko ham apna jeevan saathi banana chahte hai wo hamse itna chota hai ke kabhi ham tak pohoch hee nahi sakta."

 

In his room he sat down on the sofa with his head leaning back in a sleeping position. His eyes were closed and all he could think about what Sia had said to him…

 

"hamne aapke baare yeh faisla to tab se le liya tha jabse hamne Agni se aapkee puri kahani sunee. Aapka oske saath vevaar jo tha osse kya aap inkaar karsakte hai…aapkee wajese aaj oskee yeh haalat hai. Aapne ose is haalat tak pohochaaya or ab oskee yeh laachaari per aap apne guroor se has te hai or ose or chota girate hai."

 

Dharam: (he sat up) aapne hame jo bhi kaha Sia wo ham maante hai per yeh baat ham kadey hee nahi maanenge. Yeh ilzaam ham kabhi bardaasht nahi karenge. Ab hame aap ko bata na hee hoga ke Agni kee sachai kya hai.

 

He went and took hold of a scroll and the feather pen and then sat back down and began writing.

 

"Rajkumari Sia, ham jaante hai ke hamne aapke saath jo kiya wo bara hee nagawara laga hoga aapko lekin hame aapko kuch batana hai jo ke aapki ghalat femi dhoore karne ke liye bohat zaroori hai. Yeh baat hai tub kee jab Aryanagar ke maha mantri Jai the or pitaji ke saath onka rishta kaafi atoot tha. Wo pitaji or Aryanagar kee parampara ko sar aane rakhte the or onkee puree zindagi osee wafaadaari me nikaalee.

 

Jab onka yaha larka paida huwa tabhi pitaji ke ghar me bhi huwa. Wo ham the or mantri ji ke waha Agni huwa. Pitaji to bohat khush the is baat se or onhone Agni kee zimmedaari bhi lee apne sar yeh kehkar ke wo bhi onke bete jaisa hee hai.

 

Ab wo hamare, Veer or Sakshi ke saath hee bara huwa lekin bachpan se hamne Agni ke ander ek aisee cheez dekhee jo hame zara bhi pasand nahi aayee. Oske under ek ajeebsa ayaash hone ka junoon tha or wo hamesha se ham jo bhi karte wahi karne kee zidd karta tha. Hame aisa lagta tha ke shayad wo bhi hamare jaisa banna chahta hai isliye aisa karta hai per dheere dheere hame pata chalne laga ke wo aisa isliye karta hai take wo hame neecha dekha sakhe.

 

Waqt barta gaya or ham sab bare hone lage. Maha mantri Jai ke marne ke baad pitaji ko Agni se or ziada lagao hogaya or wo onhe or bhi pyaar karne lage. Hamne yeh sab dekha or socha ke jab onhe Agni kee sacchai pata chalegee to kya beetedee onpe? Oske lakshan bilkul theek nahi the or hame ek din oskee hadd bhi maloom paree…"

 

FLASHBACK

 

Dharam was roaming around the mahal when he heard some muffled laughs coming from a place. He became curious and walked towards it and saw it was coming from Agni's room. He went there and was surprised to find him lying on the bed with all the daasis serving him as if he was the king. He was giving them out orders whilst enjoying the drink and the fruits he was being served. Dharam saw how he was sat there bad mouthing everyone and even the Maharaj. That's when he lost it and burst in alerting all the daasis and all of them dropped what they were doing and ran out of there. Agni sat up and saw Dharam and also gulped.

 

Dharam: yeh sab kya horaha hai Agni?

 

Agni: kuch…kuch bhi to nahi. Me to bus…yuhi…

 

Dharam: kya yeh sab karne ke liye hee pitaji ne tumhe itna kuch diya. Ab hame lagta hai pitaji ko batana hee hoga.

 

He begins walking off when Agni quickly gets off the bed and grabs onto Dharam's feet.

 

Dharam: Nahi Rajkumar Dharam aisa mat keejyega warna mera kya hoga? Me aapse waada karta hu ke abse me aisa kuch nahi karunga. Mujhe maaf kardijye or Maharaj se kuch mat kaheeye…

 

At that time Dharam senses sincerity in Agni's plead so he agrees and warns him not to repeat his mistake. Dharam thought that it would make matters better but he was wrong. Agni hadn't changed and had no intention of doing so. Looked like he was hungry for money and position. He had clearly pointed it out to Dharam one day when he was in Dharam's room lying onto his bed.

 

Dharam: (irately) tumhaaree hamare kamre me aane kee jurrat kese huwee?

 

Agni: (sits up and smirks) Kyu, aapko mera yaha aana bura laga? Aakhir is sab poem era bhi haq hai.

 

Dharam: abhi isi waqt hamare kamre se bahaar niklo

 

Agni: (stands up and stands in his face) Or agar nahi gaya to kya karlenge aap?

 

Dharam: Dekho Agni ham tumse koi behas nahi karna chahte. Yahase chale jao

 

Agni: (suddenly changes his tone as if he was asking Dharam for mercy) Aisa mat kijye Rajkumar Dharam warna me kya karunga. Mujhe maaf kardijye. (grabs onto Dharam's forearm which angers him and he jerks him off)

 

Dharam: Agni!!!!!

 

Agni: (holds onto Dharam but the onlooker would see it as if Dharam was attacking him) Kya karahe hai aap, mujhe istarha kyu baar baar satate hai?

 

Dharam: (forces Agni's grip off him) Agni ham kehrahe hai ke chalejao yahase

 

Agni: (again looked towards the entrance of the room) Aisa mat kijye Rajkumar Dharam, me aapse bintee karta hu. Aap aisa kyu karahai hai? (he held onto Dharam's hand again which angered him and he jerked it so hard that Agni fell onto the floor)

 

Dharam: Agar tum yahase abhi nahi gaye to ham kuch aisa kardenge jo ke bohat bura hoga.

 

Agni: (went and grabbed Dharam's feet) yeh gore anyay hai mere saath. Mere saath aisa mat kijye. Aap mujhe aise dhamki de rahai hai jese ke aap mujhe jaan se hee maardaalenge

 

Dharam: (bent down and grabbed Agni by the throat and used force on him) Agar tumhaare yehi lakshan rahe na Agni to phir ham tumhe sach much jaan se maardenge.

 

In their struggle Dharam didn't see that Maharaj Aryavardhan had arrived in his room and had seen the whole drama. He was appalled by Dharam's actions.

 

Aryavardhan: Dharam!

 

Dharam became alarmed and he freed Agni and got up feeling ashamed by his actions but Agni did the worst and ran to Aryavardhan as if Dharam was literally killing him. He couldn't believe the guy was putting up such an act in front of his father just to gain sympathy. He would never leave him.

 

Aryavardhan: Sharam aanee chaheeye aapko Dharam! Agni bhi hamare bete jesa hai or aap hai ke iske saath itna zulm karte hai…

 

Dharam: Per pitaji hamaree baat to…

 

Aryavardhan: Bus! (puts his hand up) hame aapse yeh umeed nahi thi. Agar aapko Agni itna hee khatak ta hai to phir ham ise yahase dhoore behej denge per ispe istarha apni baraas nikaal ne nahi denge. (to Agni) Chalo Agni tum hamare saath chalo, ab tumhe darr ne kee koi zaroorat nahi

 

He agreed and followed Aryavardhan like a lamb. Before leaving he shot Dharam a look smirking which angered Dharam even more as he knew Agni was lying all the time and taking advantage of his father's love and gaining sympathy for his own benefits.

"…hamne kai baar koshish kee pitaji ke saamne Agni kee sacchai lane kee par har baar wo koi na koi khel khelke apne aap ko bacha leta tha or ham or bhi pitaji ke saamne sharminda hojaate the. Hame samjh me nahi aata tha ke kese ham pitaji ko samjhaaye ke Agni wo nahi jo wo samjte hai.

Osne saaf saaf bata diya ke ose sirf bohat saara dhan or khazana chaheeye jo ke Aryanagar kee shaan hai. Hamne ose kaha ke ose oska hissa mil jaaehga agar wo Aryanagar chore ke chala jaaye. Os waqt osne hamaree baat maanli or wo jaane ke liye tayaar bhi hogaya. Ham kaafi khush the is baat se per sochte the ke pitaji se kese baat kare is baare me, per phir socha ke onse kuch naahi kahe to hee theek hai.

 

Kai din hogaye or ab sab kuch theek hee lagraha tha hame. Os waqt Sakshi apni saari saheliyo ke saath koi yatra pe gayi thee or pehle to hamne pitaji se kaha tha ke abhi bhi wo choti hai or ose yu akele nahi jaana chaaheeye per osne itnee zidd kee ke ose pitaji ne aakhir me jaane kee aagya de deee. Ham bhi kuch kar nahi paaye…."

 

 

 FLASHBACK

 

Sakshi was running away from the daakoos in the jungle and was really afraid. Suddenly she tripped over the stone and fell onto the ground. When she turned around she saw the daakoo approaching and she let out a loud scream as she thought he would attack. To her gratefulness someone came in between and fought with the daakoo sending him away. She stared at the rather handsome man and thought that God sent him down just for her.

 

The man: Aap theek to hai na? (put his hand to pick her up)

 

Sakshi: (taking his hand and standing up) Ji ham bilkul theek hai, shukriya. (then looks at his hand) Are aapko to chote lagee hai. Idhar aaye hamare saath.

 

She took him towards the nearby lake and then with the end of her veil she dipped it in the water and then applied it on his wound. He looked at her lovingly as she did that and then she also met his eyes and there was an instant attraction.

 

The man: Aap yaha yu akeli kya karahee hai?

 

Sakshi: Ji ham yaha apni saheliyo ke saath aaye the per achanak se in daakoo ne hampe hamla kiya or phir ham onse bichar gaye. Agar aap sahi waqt pe nahi aate to ham to aaj…

 

The man: Aisa mat kahiye, me to bus apna farz nibhaaraha tha

 

She was quite awed by his modesty and wanted to know more about him. She was at a nave age where she didn't know the right and wrong and just liked what she was shown.

 

Sakshi: hamara naam Sakshi hai or ham Aryanagar kee rajkumari hai

 

The man: Aap Rajkumari Sakshi hai? Mujhe yakeen nahi hota ke me aapse mil raha hu. Aapko shayad pata nahi hoga ke me Agni hu. Yaad hai wo larka jo aapse bachpan me khela karta tha…

 

Sakshi: Agni? (covered her mouth with disbelief) itne saalo ke baad ham tumhe dekhrahe hai. Itne saal tum hamare hee mahal me rehte the or ham tumhe dekh bhi nahi paate the. Yeh to sach much kismet ka khel hai jo osne ham dono ko dubaara mila diya.

 

Agni: ha or mila ya bhi to kesa. (he took her hand in his and held it affectionately)

 

She becomes shy and runs away from there but he follows her and takes her back to her respectable group.

"….hame nahi pata tha ke yeh ek mulaqaat phir kayi mulaaqato me badal jaaehgee. Oske baad hamne faisla kiya ke wo Aryanagar me nahi rahegee or pitaji se baat bhi kee is baare me. Onhone yeh faisla sunaya ke ab Sakshi Avdhi me rahegee chacha Dayavardhan ke paas jaha pe wo her wo cheez se surakshit rahegee. Hamne chachaji se puri baat kardee thee Agni ke baare me or kya huwa or onhone kaha ke ab Sakshi onke paksh me agayee hai to ose kuch nahi hoga. Ose hamse itna dhoore rakhna hamare liye mushkil tha or Veer to tayaar hee nahi tha per hamne ose samjhaaya ke yeh zaroori hai. Ham ose Agni ke baare me sab kuch nahi batana chahte the per yeh baat batane kee zaroorat thi.

 

Ham aksar Avdhi aate the osse milne or yeh bhi jaane ke liye ke sab kuch theek hai na or Agni ka saaya dhoore hai ke nahi. Hamaree Agni ke saath mulaqaat ziada nahi hoti thi kyu ke wo Aryanagar ke bahaar hee rehta tha or hamaree nazro se dhoore taake phirse ham ose nikaal bahaar na pheke…

 

Yehi thi sacchai Agni kee or ham aasha karte hai ke aap ise samjhengee…"

 

Dawn approached and Dharam stopped writing. He had spent the whole night writing. He rubbed his tired eyes and went to wash his face and get fresh before he went and delivered the letter. Usually he would send a sainik to do the job but this one he wanted to deliver personally.

 

Sia was still restless as she hadn't slept whole night. Her eyes were puffy and she had become quite pale as if she was really ill. She got out of bed and decided to leave the mahal that way she might feel better as she certainly did need some fresh air.

 

Sunaina: Are Sia, ab tumhaaree tabiyat kesee hai? Kal raat ham nahi aaye kyu ke hamne socha ke tum sogayee hogee (notices Sia is shivering slightly) Kya huwa Sia, abhi bhi tumhaaree tabiyat kuch theek nahi lagrahee hame

 

Sia: Nahi Sunaina, ham theek hai. Bus kuch dair baahar jaaenge to acha lagega hame.

 

Sunaina nodded and Sia walked out into the mahal grounds. She walked through the beautiful woods and enjoyed the chirping of the birds early morning. She walked quite some and soon was on Maharaj Dayavardhan's grounds. She didn't realise that until she ran into Dharam who also was out on a stroll. When she saw him she immediately turned away and began going back but Dharam stopped her.

 

Dharam: Rajkumari Sia! Hamaree ek baat sunye

 

She stopped and turned towards him.

 

Dharam: ham jaante hai ke is waqt aap hamse milna bhi nahi chaahengee per hamper aapka bara upkaar hoga agar aap yeh sandesh parengee. (He hands her the scroll and then walks away)

 

With curiosity she opens up the scroll and reads it busily. She reads everything Dharam wrote about Agni and began thinking how it was a coincident of how she also met him in a similar way. Then she carried on reading further….

 

"….yeh sab sach hai Sia. Hamne aapse kayi jhooth bole hai per yeh ek aisa sach hai jo hame aapko pehle hee bata dena chaaheeye tha. Jab hamne aapko Agni ke saath dekha Malkapur me to tabhi hamne socha ke aapko bata de lekin phir hame yaad aaya ke wo phirse koi nayi kahani sunaehga aapko or aap hamper vishwaas karengee hee nahi. Jaise aapka oske saath rishta barta gaya ham kya bataye ke hame bilkul bhi pasand nahi tha or ji chahta tha ke aapko os dokhebaaz ke chungal se forun nikaal de. Ab is baare me hamare paas or koi safai nahi hai dene ke liye or asha karte hai ke ab yeh sab kuch aaine kee tarha saaf hogaya hoga…"

 

Sia: Bilkul hogaya hai per phir bhi aap ne jo kiya wo to saaf huwa hee nahi. Agni ne ek dhoka diya or aapne dusra to aap kaha se osse alag huwe…

 

She took the scroll and walked back towards Harsh's mahal and retired to her room. Then she sunk down in her favourite chair and began reading further. She was still quite upset with Dharam.

 

"….Jab hamne pehlee baar Veer or Rajkumari Ananya ko ek saath dekha tabse hame pata chalgaya tha ke Veer ko wo pasand aane lagee hai. Hamne is rishte se saaf inkaar kardiya tha kyu ke tab hame sirf hamaree barabari ka khayaal tha. Or hamne Veer ko samjhaaya bhi per wo nahi maana or Rajkumari Ananya se milna oska jaari raha. Hame ye nahi pata tha ke aapki behen ko bhi wo pasand hai. Aakhir kya or sochte hum?Maharani Nivriti ne saaf saaf kehdiya tha Aryanagar ke mele me ke wo Ananya ko Veer ke paas behjrahee hai kyu ke yeh rishte se sab ka fiada hoga…" 

 

Sia: (remembers that embarrassing night) Maa ne to aise hee kehdiya tha kyu ke wo to hai hee aisee per iska matlab yeh to nahi ke aapne jo kiya wo theek tha…Khudgarz insaan!

 

"….Hamne Veer ko phirse samjhaaya per wo nahi maana. Is rishte se hamara sir hamesha ke liye jhukh jaata kyu ke samaaj me to aapke parivaar kee izzat aapkee beheno ne kaafi uchaal thi to phir aise gharane ke saat itna uncha gharana kese jure sakta? Hamne phir wahi kiya jo hame sahi laga or Veer ko Aryanagar se dhoore bhejdiya or sahi waqt tabhi tha jab pitaji is dunya se chale gaye. Ham jaante the ke tab Veer kee haalat itnee nazuk hogi ke wo hamaree baat turant maan jaaehga. Wahi hamne dusree jaga Rajkumari Ananya ko sandesh bheja ke Veer hamesha ke liye Aryanagar chore ke chala gaya hai. Hame laga tha ke yeh silsila yehi khatam hojaehga lekin Veer ne aas nahi chori or wo baar baar Ananya ko sandesh behejta raha. Per wahi bhi hamne wo saare sandesh badal diye or Ananya tak pohoch ne hee nahi diye. Yeh sab jaane ke baad ham jaante hai Sia ke aap hamse or nafrat karne lagegee lekin hamne jo kiya wo sab badal to nahi sakte. Agar hame andesha hota ke Rajkumari Ananya bhi Veer se mohabbat kartee hai to phir ham yeh qadam nahi uthaathe. Ab isse aage hamare paas or kuch kehne ke liye nahi hai or maafi ke ilawa or kuch maangne ke liye bhi nahi…"

 

Sia: humph! Maafi bhi maangrahe hai jese ke koi ehsaan karahe ho…ghamundi! Khudgarz!

 

"…ham waapis jaarahe hai Sia or shayad iske baad hamaree phirsee mulaqaat na ho per ham ek baat kehna chahte hai ke hamne aapse jo bhi kaha wo sab sach tha or hamare dil me jo bhi aapke pratee bhavnaye hai wo bhi sab sach hai. Hame yeh to pata nahi ke aap hame kabhi maaf karengee lekin agar aapne kardiya to phir hamara jeevan thora to sudhar hee jaaehga. Phirse ham aapse maafi maangte hai jitna bhi hamne kiya oske liye.

 

Dharam."

 

She had mixed feelings after she finished reading the letter as she didn't know whether to appreciate his honesty or to be angry at him for everything he did. She thought over everything and she concluded that he also had been through a lot as since childhood he was bound by responsibilities such as taking care of his family and then protecting them from Agni's evil deeds. Then after he became the maharaj his responsibilities doubled and at that time he could only think like a king. Her family was also at fault and she thought if she would have been in his place she might have done the similar thing. She decided to put it all behind her and move forward but it was easier said than done as the whole day she could only think about Dharam and his hardships throughout life and how she had been a bit too harsh on him last night. She shouldn't have said so many things to him but he had just angered her so much with everything he did that she couldn't hold back anymore.

 

That evening all of them were going to Dayavardhan's mahal again as it was her last night in Avdhi and she would return back to Sumaina next day. She wished Dharam would still be there so she can at least tell him she appreciated everything he told her.

 

In the hall

 

Dayavardhan: Kya baat hai aaj aapkee saheli kuch chup chup see lagrahee hai? (he directed it to Sia but asked Sunaina)

 

Sia: Aisa nahi hai Maharaj wo bus hame kaafi dukh horaha hai ke ham yahase jaa rahe hai. Phir hame kaha aapkee surili aawaaz sunne ko milegee

 

Anjali and Sunaina stole laughs whilst Harsh also smiled as he thought that finally Sia learned to appreciate Dayavardhan's expertise. Anjali later told Sia that Dharam had left this morning saying he had some urgent business back at Aryanagar and then Sakshi also had to return back. He looked a bit disturbed but he didn't tell her anything. Sia felt quite bad that it was because of her and now she didn't know whether she'll ever meet him again or not.

 

Next morning she also returned back to Sumaina and was delighted to see that Ananya had returned. She was so pleased to meet her again after so many months that when she met her tears of happiness poured out of her eyes. Ananya was also glad to be home.

 

Aswaahi qabila

 

Taasha: Sardaar khabar milee hai ke Maharaj Dharam Aryanagar waapis laut aaye hai

 

Sardaar: yeh to bohat acchee baat hai. Ab hamara kaam karne ka waqt agaya hai.

 

Both of them walked off.

 

Chathrapur

 

Veer was still upset about Ananya's letter and he was sitting outside the temple letting out silent tears. He couldn't believe such a big injustice happened with him. He had fallen in love for the first time and he lost it before gaining it. Why did destiny play such a foul game with him? He wanted to go away from this place too as now it was disturbing him. The temple was near completion and soon after that he would return back to Aryanagar and tell Dharam that he was right and he was wrong.

 

Sainik: Rajkumar Veer, Rajkumar Veer! Jaldi chalye daakoa ne phirse hamla kardiya hai

 

Veer jumped up on his feet and ran with the sainik at the scene.

 

The people were being raided and attacked by the daakoos. People were running around for their lives. Many were badly hurt and many had managed to escape.

 

Veer soon came and began helping many by fighting back with the daakoos. It was like there was this new rage in him. After so much that had happened he wanted to let it all out and this was the best way. He attacked them all like a mad man and had also outbeaten many when someone came and hit him on the back of his head quite bad which made him loose his senses and before he knew it he blacked out and fell onto the ground.
