Revealing truths pt1.

 

Aswaahi qabila

 

Taasha has returned with information.

 

Sardar: (laughing) yeh to bohat hee acchi khabar laaye ho tum Taasha. To yeh Aryanagar ka Rajkumar Veer hai. Maharaj Dharam ka bhai…(continues laughing) Ab to or bhi maza aaehga. (stands up) Ab os Maharaj Dharam ko hamaree baat maanee hee paregee. Humph!

 

Then he walks off.

 

Chatrapur

 

The mandir work is on full swing and Veer makes sure he helps out to the maximum. Now he is more determined to get this work done quickly so he can return back home. He helped people carry heavy stuff, he helped those who found it hard to lift the frame and he helped around the more elderly to make sure they got time to rest.

 

Then as he sat down helping to string the wood for the frame together he didn't know when it happened but it did and he felt as if Ananya's hand came upon his. He stopped and looked up and he couldn't believe his eyes as she sat there in front of him looking beautiful as ever in pink. She smiled at him and he just kept staring at her.

 

This song played in the background (just thought of adding some spice with songs)

She came closer to him and gave him a soft blow on the face and he closed his eyes. Then when he opened them he saw she had disappeared. He became restless and began searching for her and then saw her near the hay stack waving goodbye to him.

 

Tumhi ho beshuba, tumhi ho

Tumhi ho mujh me haan tumhi hoo…..tumhi hooo…ooooooo

 

When she was gone again Veer just gave a shy smile and shook his head for day dreaming at a time like this. He went back to work. He was near the building helping to put it up when someone slipped and he quickly held his hand out to save them and when he had the person scooped down in his hand he saw Ananya instead. He froze again.

 

Kaise bataye tumhe, or kistarha yeh

Kitna tumhe hum chahte hai

 

He snapped out when the person got up himself and then he saw that Ananya was gone. He then saw her shadow fall onto the haystack so he ran over there to catch her but he was too late and missed her.

 

Saaya bhi tera dikhe, to paas jaake

Osme simat hum jaate hai

 

His eyes were closed when she came closer to him and began whispering in his ear.

 

Raasta tumhi ho, rehnumaa, tumhi ho

Jiski khwaish hai humko

Wo panaah tumhi ho

 

She was leaving but Veer held her hand back

 

Tumhi ho beshuba, tumhi ho

Tumhi ho mujh me haan tumhi hoo…..tumhi hooo…ooooooo

 

The wind blew and slowly her image faded away in the distance. Veer couldn't understand what was happening to him. Was it because of the long deprivation he had with Ananya or was it just simply love he held for her in his heart? He didn't know but all he could think about for the rest of the time was only about her and he saw her mainly everywhere.

 

Tumhi meree saaso me, tumhi jasbaato me

It was night time now and Veer was still lying on the hay stack looking up at the romantic moon in the sky and thinking about Ananya.

 

Kaise bataye tumhe shab me tumhaare

Khwaab haseen jo aate hai

Kaise bataye tumhe lavz wo saare

Jism ko jo mehkaate hai

 

The wind touched his face and he could feel her essence in it. He opened his eyes and saw her leaning down on top of him, taking his head in her hands.

 

Iktida, tumhi ho, inteha tumhi ho

Tumho jeene ka maqsad, aur wajaah tumhi ho

 

Veer sat up and held her hands close to him as he didn't let her leave his eyesight.

 

Bakhuda tumhi ho, her jaga tumhi ho

He kept staring at her and almost felt as if she was really there in front of him but he knew it was only a figment of his imagination as she made him close his eyes and when he opened them she was gone. He just sighed and fell back onto the hay.

 

Sainik: Rajkumar Veer, aapke liye yeh sandesh aaya hai

 

Veer sat up amazed.

 

Veer: is waqt kya sandesh aasakta hai?

 

Sainik: Ji yeh Sumaina se aaya hai

 

Veer: Sumaina se? (his face lit up with joy and he almost leaped onto the sainik) lao mujhe do. (after receiving it he looked up at the sainik who gave him peculiar looks so he made sure he calmed down a bit) Theek hai ab tum jaasakte ho

 

After the sainik left Veer opened up the scroll with excitement as he knew it was only from Ananya and finally she had decided to answer him.

 

"Rajkumar Veer hum jaante hai ke aap hamare jawaab ka kabse intezaar karahe hai. Hame aapke saare pyaar bhare sandesh mile per ham aapko turant jawaab nahi desakhe kyu ke ham bari hee bari duvidha me phas gaye the ke kaise bataye aapko, kese bataye ke hamare dil me aapke pratee aisa kuch nahi hai jo aap sochte hai. Hamne kabhi bhi nahi socha tha aisa aapke liye. Balke hamaree to shaadi bhi teh hochukee hai or ham yaha Sumaina me kuch hee dino ke mehmaan hai.

 

Hame maaf kardijye agar hamne aapka dil dukhaaya ho to per yeh sachai aaptak pohoch jaaye jitnee jaldi wahi behtar hai.

 

Ananya."

 

When he finished he didn't know how to react as it just took a few minutes for his life to turn upside down. Just a while ago he had already dreamed and planned his future life and this message just came as a storm and drowned everything away. A silent tear dropped out of his eye as he sat there absorbing the new information.

 

Avdhi

 

A few days later Sia is sat in her room writing a letter to Ananya in Bhawanipur.

 

"Kaisee ho Ananya, itne din hogaye or hame tumhaaree koi khabar nahi milee? Waise to hame pata hai ke tum theek hee hogi warna tum hame turant batati.

 

Ab ham kya bataye tumhe ke hamare saath yaha kya horaha hai? Pehle to yeh Avdhi sach me bohat hee khoobsurat hai or khaas karke yeh Rajkumar Harsh ka mahal. Maana ke onhe hamesha bara charhaa ke baat karne kee aadat hai per is baar to wo sahi hee the.

 

Phir hamaree mulaqaat mahaan Maharaj Dayavardhan se aakhir ho hee gayee or wo wese hee nikle jaisa hamne socha tha. Onhe dekhke hame naajaane kyu Maharaj Dharam kee hee yaad aati thee, shayad isliye kyu ke dono ek jaise hee hai per ha kuch alag baate hai per wo ham sochna bilkul nahi chahte.

 

Yaha in saare logo me hame ek acha dost milgaya Ananya, Rajkumari Anjali. Wo kaafi pyaari hai or apne pitaji or bhai se bilkul alag. Hamne to kabhi nahi socha tha ke ek hee ghar ke log aise juda kese hosakte hai per phir hame Rajkumar Veer ka khayaal aaya or socha ke ha alag hosakte hai.

 

Ab baari aatee hai Maharaj Dharam kee aakhir wo hame kabhi akela chore te hee nahi. Pata nahi kyu par hamesha wo hamse kuch kehna chahte hai per rukh jaate hai. Hame to…"

 

She gets interrupted in between when a daasi comes and informs her that Maharaj Dharam has come to the mahal to meet her. She becomes alarmed and quickly leaves the scroll and the pen and stands up to go and greet him but to her surprise he came to her room instead.

 

Sia: Maharaj Dharam aap yaha?(stares at him and hesitates to ask him why he came) Rajkumar Harsh or Sunaina abhi abhi sair ke liye nikle hai to aap hame yaha bilkul akela paaenge

 

Dharam: hame maaf kijye ham aise aapko pareshaan karne nahi aaye the. Agar aap koi zaroori kaam karahee hai to ham baad me aate hai

 

Sia: Nahi ham to bus Ananya ko sandesh bhejrahe the Bhawanipur me…

 

Dharam: acha.

 

Sia sat down and then there was this awkward silence between them as she saw him just standing there staring at her. She didn't know whether she did anything wrong or was she meant to tell him something. Then she wondered of how to tell him to sit down but to her relief he sat down himself on the opposite chair. The silence was still present with both staring in different places but at each other.

 

Sia: Hamne suna ke Rajkumar Veer kahi chalegayee hai, to kya aisa kuch huwa tha jo onhone aisa qadam uthaaya?

 

Dharam: (turned towards her) nahi, aisa kuch bhi nahi huwa. Balke pitaji kee mrityu ke baad wo khud Arayanagar se dhoore jaana chahta tha. Wo bilkul theek hai jaha bhi hai.

 

Sia: Kya wo waapis laut ke kabhi nahi aaenge?

 

Dharam: Ab wo hamesha ke liye to nahi gaya hai per ha ab Aryanagar me oska sirf thora, thora waqt hee beetaane ka iraada hai

 

Sia: (displeased) to phir waapis aane ke kya matlab. Ise behtar to yehi hai sab ke liye or onke liye bhi ke wo laut ke aaye hee nahi

 

Dharam: waise agar wo chaahe to yeh faisla bhi le sakta hai (his tone had turned a bit rough so he stopped and turned away from her)

 

She also turned away and the awkward silence between them returned. This was not what he had come here to talk about but why did she always ignite that fire in him?

 

Dharam: Yeh kamra kaafi sundar lagta hai. Hamne suna hai ke Dayavardhan Chacha ne isme kaafi kuch cheez badlee jab Rajkumar Harsh yaha per rehne aaye.

 

Sia: (laughs) Ha kaafi kuch kiya hai onhone or Rajkumar Harsh ko isse ziada kuch or mil hee nahi sakta tha. Wo kaafi khush naseeb hai.

 

Dharam: wo to dikhraha hai or phir wo dusree cheez me bhi khush naseeb hai

 

Sia looks at him curiously

 

Dharam: Onhe Rajkumari Sunaina milee jeevan saathi ke liye

 

Sia: Ji kaafi khush naseeb hai osme bhi….(looks at him to see his expression) Wese Sunaina ke liye bhi yeh kaafi khush naseebee kee baat hai

 

Dharam: (nods his head) ha…zaroor hai...wese onhone kaafi achee tarhase jaldi ghar basaliya hai yaha per jabke kaafee dhoore hai wo Ramghar se

 

Sia: Jaldi? Ose kitne din lage yaha Avdhi me sab kuch sambhaal ne ke liye or phir jis dhoori kee baat karahe hai to wo bohat hee bari dhoori hai.

 

Dharam: (turns away) Ha yeh dhoori kaafi bari dhoori hai ham maante hai isilye to kehrahe hai

 

Sia: (turns eyes heavenwards) darasal aap yehi sochte hai na ke larkiyo ko unke ghar se hamesha kaafi dhoore hee rehna chaheeye taake onka onke pariwaar ke saath ziada sambhand na ho…

 

Dharam: ha shayad ham yehi sochte hai (gives her a stern look) Aap bhi hamesha Sumaina ke paas hee nahi rehna chaheengee na?

 

His question came as a surprise for her and she didn't know how to answer back. He realized his mistake so got up immediately.

 

Dharam: ab hame lagta hai ke hamne aapka kaafi waqt leliya hai. Ham chalte hai. (turned towards the door and then stopped again) Rajkumar Harsh or Rajkumari Sunaina ko hamara pranaam dejyega. (Sia was getting up to walk him out) Nahi, aap takleef mat uthaaye.

 

Then he left leaving Sia in a daze as she couldn't figure out what just happened here. What was he trying to tell her? Something was surely going on his mind and she had to know it soon. She just sighed and continued back with her letter.

 

In the evening Anjali came over and convinced Sia to have a stroll with her around the grounds so both of them were walking and just chatting.

 

Anjali: Jaanti ho Sia, yeh hamaree sabse pasandeeda jaga hai…yaha jharne ke paas ham aksar aakar baite hai jabhi tanha hote hai

 

Sia: Bohat hee haseen hai. (sits down next to her) Hame yeh batao Anjali ke kya tum Rajkumar Veer ko bhi bohat acchee tarhase jaantee ho?

 

Anjali: Kamaal kee baat hai Sia, per tum yakeen nahi karogee ke ham onhe Dharam se ziada nahi jaante. Bachpan se hamne hamesha Dharam ke saath hee ziada waqt beetaaya hai per jitna ham Veer ko jaante hai to wo bohat hee accha or samajhdaar insaan hai. Jo her kaam soch samjhke karta hai or sab ose bohat pasand bhi karte hai. Ek baat hai, ke Dharam ke wo bohat kareeb hai.

 

Sia: ha…wo to hame pehlese pata chalgaya tha. Kaafi dhyaan rakhte hai Maharaj Dharam onke bhai ka

 

Anjali: Are Sia wo to ose apni jaan se bhi ziada pyaar karta hai. Ab chachaji ke jaane ke baad Dharam hee ko to sambhaalna hai na ose….tumhe pata hai Sia abhi haalee me hee Dharam ne Veer ko ek bari museebat se bacchaya. Hamne suna tha ke koi rajkumari oske peeche pari thee or wo oske bilkul laayak nahi thee.

 

Sia: (becomes alert and wants to know more) Yeh sab kuch tumhe Maharaj Dharam ne bataya?

 

Anjali: Ha. Osne hamse kaha tha ke kese osne aisa kuch bhi hone se pehle sab kuch sambhaal liya or os rajkumari se Veer ko dhoore kardiya, itnee dhoore ke ose kabhi mil hee naa paaye. Phir kuch dino pehle hee khabar aayee ke oska kaam hochuka to tum dekh hee sakti ho ke wo kitna chahta hai apne bhai ko.

 

Sia: (angry) Kissee or kee zindagee ka faisla Maharaj Dharam kese karsakte hai? Onhe kya haq banta hai ke Rajkumar Veer ke dil kee baat jaane bagair wo aisa qadam uthaaye…shayad wo isse khush na ho?

 

Anjali: Sia, Dharam ne hamesha Veer kee bhalai hee chaahee hai. Is baar bhi hame yakeen hai ke aisa hee hai or phir ham to wahi kehrahe hai jo ham jaante hai

 

Sia: Phir bhi…(doesn't want to show Anjali that she is hurt so covers it up) shayad tum theek kehrahee ho. Hame is baare me ziada pata nahi or hosakta hai ke jo Maharaj Dharam kehrahe hai wahi sach hai.

 

It was easier said than done and now she felt really down by what she heard. She couldn't believe it was all true.

 

Anjali: Kya huwa Sia, tumhaaree tabiyat to theek hai na?

 

Sia: Hamare sir me achanak sa dard hone laga hai (holding her tears back) shayad aaj hamne kuch ziada hee bahaar waqt beetaaliya.

 

Anjali: (gets up) to phir ham abhi issee waqt mahal waapis laut chalte hai. Chalo.

 

Both of them walk back and Sia is just completely distraught. When she gets back she finds that Harsh and Sunaina were all ready waiting for her as they had to go to Maharaj Dayavardhan's mahal. She was just not ready to face all of that right now so she declined saying she had a very bad headache. Sunaina insisted on staying but Harsh made her change her decision and then Sia seconded him.

 

Once they were gone she was glad and retired to her room quite upset.

 

Sia's room

 

She couldn't believe that everything was because of Dharam. Her sister's tears, her pain everything was because of that man who thought he could play God in two people's relationship. He had no right at all to do what he did and she'll never forgive him for it.

 

It had been a while since she just sat like that in her room when she got a surprise. She heard the daasis outside making a fuss and telling someone to wait. She became alert and stood up and before she could do anything Dharam walked inside her room with haste.

 

Dharam: Ham istarha aane ke liye maafi chahte hai. Ham aasha karte hai ke aapkee tabiyat ab pehle se behtar hogi (and he just invited himself inside alarming her even more)

 

Sia: ji ab ham pehlese behtar hai. (she saw how he was moving around restlessly) Kya aap beithenge nahi?

 

She went and sat down and kept looking at him. He turned towards her and when she thought he was going to say something he changed his mind and kept pacing to and fro. She couldn't understand what he was trying to do and at that moment he was the last person she wanted to meet anyways. She didn't know how to ask him what he wanted as he just kept showing this kind of anxiety as if he was afraid of something.

 

Then he sat down opposite her and kept staring at her again trying to tell her something but there was this hesitation so he just couldn't do it. Then he stood up again completely distressed and began pacing. She was finding it disturbing now and wanted him to get to the point.

 

To her relief he made a halt in front of her.

 

Dharam: Ab hamse bardaasht nahi hota. Nahi rokesakte ham wo sab jo kabse hamare dimaag me ghoom raha hai. Ab hame aapko bata na hee hoga ke ham aapko bohat pasand karne lage hai or aapse hame beinteha mohabbat hogayee hai.

 

She was shell shocked and stared at him with wide eyes.

 

Dharam: ham jaante hai ke is faisle se ham hamare pure pariwaar or parampara ke khilaaf jaaenge or yaha tak ke hamare usool ke khilaaf bhi.

 

She didn't know how to react.

 

Dharam: ab aapkee or hamaree barabari kabhi ho nahi sakti kyu ke ham dono haisyat me to zameen aasmaan hai or ham maante hai ke hamare jaisa sochne waala insaan to is rishte ke liye kabhi nahi sochega per ham apne dil ke aage majboor hai.

 

She remained silent with anger emerging inside her with his every word. She couldn't believe he was capable of complementing and insulting at the same time.

 

Dharam: jabse hamne aapko pehlee baar dekha tha tabse…tabse hamare dil ne aapkee ek jaga bana lee thee jiskee wajese aap hame dheere dheere pasand aane lagi. Phir wo itnee hadd tak bhar gaya ke ab hamse yeh bardaasht nahi hota. Ham aapse bintee karte hai ke hame is beichainee se mukti dilaadijye or hamare saath shaadi karne ke liya ha kehdijye.

 

Sia: (thought over everything he said and absorbed it before answering) aisee haalaat me to har larki ko ise apna farz samajh na chaheeye lekin (looks at him) ham aisa nahi karsakte

 

He is disheartened and gives her the look that he wants an explanation.

 

Sia: hame kabhi bhi aapkee koi bhi baat pasand nahi aayee or maafkijyega aapne bhi kabhi apne aapko aisa banaya nahi ke koi bhi aapko pasand kare….ham kisee ko koi takleef ya ghao pohochaana nahi chahte per agar yeh huwa hai to hamne yeh sab jaan bujke nahi kiya or ham aasha karte hai ke yeh ghao bohat jald bhar bhi jaaehga.

 

He walks away towards the dresser quite hurt. He also doesn't know what to say further or how to react to her disapproval. He stares into the mirror and sniffs and then he turns back towards her with the same restlessness there was earlier.

 

Dharam: bus, sirf itna hee jawaab hai aapke paas hamare liye? Kya hame isse aage jaane ka haq nahi ke aise bina soche or waqt liye bina aapne hame mana kardiya? Kya yeh sochne ka haq nahi hame?

 

Sia: or kya hame haq nahi yeh sochne ka ke kese aapne hamare saamne shaadi ka prastao aise rakha yeh kehkar ke aap majboore hai isliye. Warna yeh to aapke usool or parampara ke bilkul khilaaf hai or aap aisa kabhi na kare.

 

He had nothing to say to that and had to agree she was right.

 

Sia: to phir hamne jese aapko jawaab diya kya wo ghalat tha? (angry tears were in her eyes) hamare paas her koi waje hai aapke baare me sirf or sirf bura sochne kee. Aap soch bhi kese sakte hai ke ham aise insaan ke saath jeevan beetaana chahenge jisne hamaree hee behen ka jeevan barbaad kardiya? (he stared at her with surprise as he didn't know she knew about it) kya aap is baat se inkaar karsakte hai ke aapne hee Rajkumar Veer or Ananya ko yu behrehmeese alag kardiya?

 

Dharam: hamare paas inkaar karne kee koi waje nahi. Ha hamne aisa kiya or ham osme safal bhi huwe.

 

Sia: (turned her face away from him irately) wo to bus ek or kari thi aapse or nafrat karne kee per hamne aapke baare yeh faisla to tab se le liya tha jabse hamne Agni se aapkee puri kahani sunee. Aapka oske saath vevaar jo tha osse kya aap inkaar karsakte hai?

 

Dharam: (pushes the table back as sudden rage fills him) os Agni kee kaafi taraf daaree kartee hai aap? Kaafi dilchuspi or hamdardi hai oske liye

 

Sia: Kise hamdardi nahi hogi oski dukhbhari kahani sunke. Os beechaare kee to…

 

Dharam: Wo bechaara? Humph! (starts pacing) waakai me wo beechaara hee hai.

 

Sia: aapkee wajese aaj oskee yeh haalat hai. Aapne ose is haalat tak pohochaaya or ab oskee yeh laachaari per aap apne guroor se has te hai or ose or chota girate hai.

 

Dharam: (stops and turns towards her) to yeh sab sochtee hai aap hamare baare me? To yeh tasveer banayee hai aapne hamare baare me? (sighs and looks heavenwards and then turns back towards her) per hame nahi lagta ke Agni kee baatose aap pe itna asar huwa hai. Ose milne se pehle hee aapne hamare baare me yeh faisla le hee liya tha kyu ke wo aapka hee ghamand tha jisne yeh karne pe majboore kiya tha. (she rolls her tongue in her cheek) kyu ke hamne kabhi aapkee taareef nahi kee or naahi kabhi aapse pyaarse baat kee. Per hame hamaree koi bhi harkat se pachtaava nahi samjhi aap? Kya sochtee thee ke kya ham apne aapko khush naseeb samajhte ke hame aisa insaan pasand aaya hai jo hamaree barabari kabhi karhee nahi sakta? (she just couldn't take it anymore so stood up and turned away from him) kya ham khush hote yeh soch kar ke jis insaan ko ham apna jeevan saathi banana chahte hai wo hamse itna chota hai ke kabhi ham tak pohoch hee nahi sakta.

 

Sia: (turns towards him) Maaf kijyega Maharaj Dharam per hamne kabhi bhi aisa nahi socha tha. Hamara aapke baare me jo faisla tha wo aisa nahi hota agar aap hamse insaano kee tarha paish aate naake jaanwaro kee tarha. Koi insaan apni pehchaan se bara ya chota nahi hota, wo to apne sanskaaro se hota hai. Jo insaan kisee or kee izzat nahi karsakta oskee izzat koi kya karega. Ek baat or ham aapko bata de ke ek raja apnee praja se hee banta hai or aap to wo dhoore dhoore tak nahi. Pehli mulaqaat se hee aapne hame bata diya tha ke aapka guroor, aapka chota pan or aapkee khugarzee kabhi kisee ka bhala karhee nahi sakti or koi aapke saath khush reh hee nahi sakta. Aap kabhi bhi hamse yeh sawaal poochte to hamara yehi jawaab hota to aisa nahi ke ab hamne aapko bina soche yeh jawaab diya. Hamare dil ne yeh faisla kab ka leliya tha ke aap dunya ke aakhri mard honge jise ham kabhi bhi shaadi karna chahenge.

 

The last sentence definitely left a mark and he was stunned.

 

Dharam: kaafi kuch kehdiya aapne Rajkuamri Sia…ab ham bilkul jaan chuke hai ke aapke dil me hamare pratee kya hai or ab hame hamaree hee bhavnao ko soch kar sharam aati hai….(gives her a sorry look) ham maafi chahte hai ke hamne yaha aakar aapka itna keemti waqt le liya. Ham to bus yehi chahte hai ke aap khush rahe or khush haal bhi. Ab hum aapkee aagya lete hai.

 

With that Dharam walked out of her room and she fell back down on her chair with her eyes blotted with tears. So much had come down upon her at once that now she just lost control.
