Part 21

The first whistle rang it was the signal to get ready, Kripa put on her helmet noticing how much her hands were shaking, Ria gave her a thumbs up for good luck she smiled but only half heartedly. She hated these races something bad always happened as a result of it.

She remembered how badly her brother had been injured last race it was only because of Tarun that they hadn't done so badly. She sat down in her car looking out of the window at Tarun's nervous face and imagining weather or she would ever see him again. The second whistle rang, wait that was fast!!!

And no sooner was she on the start line, waiting with batted breath to hear the final shot. She looked to her side Angad was next to her and he was yawning, wow he was confident, she thought, this scared her. She adjusted in her seat, uncomfortably the shot rang along with the sound of tires taking up the speedy start. Kripa looked next to her Angad wasn't there she looked in her mirror he had just started from the line.

There weren't too many cars In front of her, she overtook 2 of them without effort she could see them tailing her but she sped up at the curve leaving them in her dust. Wow she wasn't as bad, and Angad was still no where in site.

She relaxed a bit, concentrating of making her curves perfectly and avoiding hitting other cars. Within minutes she had taken the lead with Ria tagging behind. She was surprised that Angad had given her no competition at all. Either he wasn't as good as every one though or he was just letting her win.

It happened within seconds a car sped past her, without doubt she knew that was Angad, and the race was just getting started, he drove flawlessly his car turning perfectly at any curve at any speed. The road got narrower there was space for only 3 cars now.

Another car was tailing her, it was probably one of Angad's buddies probably Josh, she knew he was almost as good as Angad. She could see from her mirror Ria she was trying to stop Josh, another curve came a very sharp one.

Ria who was concentrating on Josh didn't realize this until it was too late, and crashed. There were only 3 now Josh who was on the side of Kripa smiling devilishly his red car betting, on Kripa's. She looked to the front Angad wasn't too far if she could just some how lose Josh she still had the chance to catch up with him.

She speed up Josh hit the front of his car to her back sending her almost spinning, but she saved herself just in time, but that had slowed her down considerable opening her up for another attack as she recovered Josh sent his car ramming into her side. Kripa looked behind her She was being pushed to a solid brick wall she was sooooo dead…

Angad was bored, this was way too easy. Kripa had done well but of course was not good enough to even come close to beat him. He looked in his rear view mirror, Josh was tailing Kripa closely, that was the bad thing about Josh he never listened. He had told to keep an eye on Kripa not attack her. Angad noticed Kripa's car half spin but she recovered in time. He got a bit worried, what was josh doing trying to kill her or something. Angad slowed his car down, he was going to tell Josh off. It was too late josh was already ramming Kripa's car towards the brick wall, Angad didn't know what made him do it but he slammed his brakes hard, Josh's car hit his, stopping him just in time.

Kripa did not take long to recover she could see the finish line and better yet the road was narrowing if she could just make it in time, Angad would not be able to overtake her, she slammed on the accelerator after making sure that Angad was still breathing after the accident.

Angad noticed what she was doing he chased after her, she was too far ahead, he pressed on his accelerator but there was no doubt that her car was faster, The road narrowed leaving space for only one car. Kripa was farther, the Finish line came and went and Kripa won just as she had told him she would. It was proven Angad had a fear, he was scared for Kripa.
