Chapter 22

"Everyone that u know about is fine but Priya isn't, she has never been fine."

"Priya??"

"Yes priya my older sister, she is younger than Anjali, the middle child in our family."

"Kripa why didn't u tell me about her?"

"Because I didn't want u to know, we avoid mentioning her in our house it causes too many problems."

"but what happened to her, she is not going to … die is she?"

"no, but it probably be better if she did," Kripa says her voice bitter now, "Its better than having to see her suffer so much." Tear rolls down her cheek she stops at a door (its open). "That is my sister."

Prithvi's mouth drops seeing a girl in white hospital clothes lying on a wheel chair unconscious. "I am glad she is not awake, its really painful to see her blabbering things and treat us as though we are strangers."

"So she doesn't recognize anyone?"

Kripa shakes her head, "no she does recognize one person, that is the only person she remembers."

"Who?"

Kripa walks over to the table beside her bed and grabs letters and envelopes and throws them on the bed, and points at them "Him"

Prithvi contracts her eyebrows in confusion, "Who are these letters from Kripa?"

"I don't know, if I did I swear I would kill him with my own bear hands. When Priya was about my age she fell in love with this guy, he used her and then threw her away. She fell into depression which eventually turned into madness, her condition has not improved in the slightest, the doctors have lost all hope for recovery." She cries a bit and then continues, "She only recognize these letters, she hugs them and when anyone attempts to take them away from her she attacks them. She still loves him when that lying *** ** ***** has probably forgotten her and has gone off ruining someone else's life. " Kripa cries a bit more, Prithvi hugs her, she doesn't stop him and continues on crying while Prithvi consoles her.

"Its ok Kripa what's done is done u can't do anything to erase it. Have u looked at the letter? Maybe it has the guys name in it."

"Yes I have and there is his name but its in signature form and the only letter I can phantom is that his name starts with A, and he goes to the same college as my di and since my di went to the college we go to he also goes there but that was like a year ago so he might have already graduated."

Prithvi thinks to himself barley concealing a grin, "Or he might not have…"

The doctor comes in the room

"Thank god ur here Mrs. Sharma"

"what happened doctor my di is fine isn't she?"

"Well not exactly her condition keeps getting worse and worse, despite our extensive treatment. We thought that we should increase the dosage of medicine she is receiving, but before we do that we needed to inform family members and get their approval. U just have to sign a few form approving it, I am sorry for disturbing u but u know formalities."

"No problem, I ll do it right now and u can disturb me anytime my di is everything to me," She hesitates a bit before asking, " Doctor…Is...is there any chance that she will recover?"

The doctor just looks at her, choosing his words carefully before answering, "We are doing everything we can Mrs. Sharma if somehow we could arise hope in her to live again it might be possible." he pats her on the shoulder hands her the papers and leaves.

Kripa sits on the bed and fills out the paper while Prithvi looks at the letters.

"Ur di never told u who that guy was?"

"I wish she did, I could have done something for her."

"Havent u ever tried to find out who it was"

"I did but didn't have any clues except for this letter"

Prithvi sneaks a letter inside his pocket with the pretense of getting closer to see what it says.

"Ok I am done lets go" Kripa says giving him a smile.

"Ya lets go."

"I am sorry Prithvi I totally ruined the dinner program, and dragged u into all of this."

"Kripa what do think I am here for, whenever u nead me just give a call I ll always be there."

"Thanks Prithvi…" she hugs him, "…for being there with me"
