A - so....our wives were friends
Ka - who were broken apart because of a misunderstanding
N - Prachi has agreed to speak to Kripa and Anjali
Ka - yeah in fact I think Anjali said she is meeting them for dinner
A - I hope things go smoothly, I'd hate to have to incur losses by cancelling this project, if Kripa cannot stand the sight of your wives then this project will no longer happen
N - yeah and I was really hoping we three could become good friends
The three leave the room wondering how the dinner will go.
Part 11
As Anjali had made the dinner reservations she is the first one to arrive, she sits at the given table and waits for Kripa and Prachi, her phone rings, she looks at the caller ID and its Kavya
An - hi Kavya
Ka - hey so hows the dinner going?
An - it hasn't started yet, they're not here yet
Ka - oh, i'm sure they'll be there soon
An - yeah....
Ka - ok listen, don't argue with them, give them a chance to say what they have to say
An - I know Kavya, ok I see Prachi, I'll call you later
Ka - bye
Anjali hangs up as Prachi makes her way to the table, Anjali stands up politely
An - hey
P - hi
An - come, sit
P - thanks
Prachi sits down, Anjali watches as she fidgets with her fingers
An - your habit still hasn't gone
P - huh?
An - fidgeting.....
P - oh...yeah....old habits....
An - die hard......yeah Kripa used to say that
P - speaking of Kripa....where is she?
An - she should be here soon.....oh look there she is
Prachi turns her head and sees Kripa, she comes over to them and sits down
K - sorry I'm late....
An - its ok....
The girls look at each other and smile nervously, the waiter comes
W - shall I take your order?
P - no not yet....unless you guys want something?
K - no i'm fine...Anjali?
An - no, you can go, we'll call you when we want to order
W - ok maam
The waiter walks away, the girls look at each other nervously
An - so...
K - well we're all here to give our sides of the story...
P - Anjali why don't you go first....I mean everything started after you said those things to Kripa at the party....so....
An - erm ok.....so at the party...Kripa you remember you asked me to dance
K - yeah with Yug
An - well...while we were dancing.....Yug began saying how you girls weren't really my friends....the only reason you were was because you thought of me as a charity case because I was poor....
P - and you accepted that?
K - the guy who cheated on you every day wth a new girl, you believed him? Anjali....whenever we would go shopping I would spend the same amount of money on you as I did with Prachi, I thought you both to be my younger sisters and felt I had the right to spoil you
An - but you too Kripa....you said all those mean things....
K - that was Prithvi....he told me you were only my friends because I was rich and you wanted me for my money
An - and you believed him....come on Kripa....all the time you offered to buy me a car to get to college in but I always refused......and Prachi you...we fought, you could have showed us the right way
K - yes Prachi....you could have corrected our mistakes, but you too fought with us
Prachi looks at them and frowns
P - Varun....said that you guys staged the fight, that he heard you planning it and told me you never really considered me as a friend
K - hmph! Varun......that guy who could never stand the sight of us
An - I think...I know what's happened
Prachi and Kripa look towards Anjali
An - we've all been manipulated one way or another by our ex-boyfriends and we all believed what they said and instead of talking to each other we blamed each other
Kripa smiles and sees Prachi's tears and wipes them, Prachi smiles and wipes Anjali's tears while Anjali wipes Kripa's
K - we lost so much time together....remember how we had all planned on being bridesmaids at each others weddings?
P - yeah....I felt so lonely and incomplete on my wedding day without you two
An - yeah same here and I needed you both since I got married without my parents consent
K - no way...seriously?
P - what happened?
An - well after Yug when mom and dad met Kavya they thought because he was rich he would just use me but I knew Kavya wouldn't so I married him without them knowing
K - we have so much to catch up on
P - wait...
Kripa and Anjali look at Prachi who puts her hand out on to the table, palm faced up
P - first lets promise never to fight
Kripa smiles and puts her hand on top of Prachi's
K - and never let anyone come between us
Anjali also puts her hand on top of theirs
An - and always be there for each other
The girls smile at each other
P - ok hurry up and call the waiter, I'm so hungry
K - Prachi...you haven't changed a bit
An - always thinking about food....anyways she's right we should call the waiter
Kripa signals for the waiter to come
W - so what can I order for you
The girls smile at each other then Anjali orders for Kripa, Kripa orders for Prachi and Prachi orders for Anjali, the waiter looks at them weirdly while the girls just laugh, they give each other small hugs over the table and eat once the food comes. The girls catch up on things like each others weddings, how they met the guys and other general things, after they finish eating and are snacking on dessert, Kripa's mobile rings
K - yea Angad?
A - Kripa where are you? have you seen the time?
K - oops....sorry
Kripa looks at her watch and sees its almost 10 PM
K - I'll be home soon don't worry
A - ok....by the way how did the dinner go?
K - its great, I'll tell you once I get home
Kripa hangs up
An - hm Angad?
K - yeah, wondering where I am and why i'm not home
P - yeah its late, we should get going
An - lets meet up tomorrow
P - great
The girls wish each other good night then head to their homes. Kripa reaches to her house first, as soon as she gets in Angad bombards her with questions
A - what happened? how did Anjali and Prachi react after you told them everything? are you guys friends now? do I need to cancel the project?
K - Angad.....shut up
Angad looks at her
K - let me get changed then I'll tell you everything
A - ok then
Kripa gets changed and sits with Angad in bed, he puts his arms around her
K - it was so good seeing them and talking to them, clearing everything out and then we caught up on everything, I always felt sad knowing I missed their weddings and they missed ours but now...I'm ok
Angad smiles and kisses her forehead
A - I'm so happy
K - good you should be
A - of course....now I have no reason to cancel the project and lose out on millions
Kripa looks at him and hits his arm
K - thats all you care about, your money, you don't care that I just got my best friends back...you ape!
Angad laughs
A - where did ape come from? and my dear wife....I;m very happy that you got your friends back, in fact I'm so happy, I think we should go out and celebrate
K - yeah good idea, I'll ask the girls tomorrow
A - seeing them again? hmmm won't be long before you spend all your time with them and forget me
Angad pouts, Kripa giggles and kisses his lips softly
K - you're such a baby
A - thank you
Angad smiles and squeezes Kripa in his arms. On the other side Anjali gets home to find Kavya already sleeping
An - idiot...always sleeping....Kavya....Kavya wake up!
Ka (mumbles) - let me sleep
An - no get up...
Ka - go away
An - you asked for it
Anjali picked up a pillow and began hitting him with it, Kavya wakes up and pulls Anjali on to the bed and pins her to the bed
An - why weren't you waking up?
Ka - because....normal people sleep during the night, owls like you stay awake
An - you called me an owl?
Ka - no....
Anjali pushes Kavya off her and begins hitting him, Kavya laughs and stops her from hitting him
Ka - sorry...sorry sorry
An - ok....you're forgiven, only because I'm in a good mood
Ka - why? oh I remember....you've found your lost buddies....what were their names....oh yeah owl 1 and owl 2
An - Kavya! I'm going to kill you if you call my friends owls
Ka - oh my gosh.....can you imagine the headlines "wife kills husband because he called her friends owls" such a hard hitting story.....you'll be famous
Anjali gets annoyed and walks off, Kavya hits his head and runs after her. Meanwhile Prachi gets home to find Neev in the bathroom
P - Neev....get out
N - if i get out now I'll wet the carpet
P - why?
N - because i'm in the jacuzzi
P - without me?
N - you can join me, doors open
P - no not now....maybe next time anyways, when you're finished come to the bedroom
N - ok jaan
Prachi goes into the bedroom and begins to get changed, by the time she's finished Neev comes out wearing jogging bottoms with a towel around his neck, he hugs Prachi from behind
P - you're finished, good listen....I'm meeting the girls again tomorrow
N - so you're friends again
P - yea isn't it good news?
N - of course....means I can finally get some peace from you, you know staying with you all day can be really tiring and boring, now that you have some friends, I can have some alone time
Prachi glares at Neev and hits his arm
N - ow that hurt
P - then put a t shirt on you moron
Neev gasps and hits her back
P - Neev! don't you have manners hitting a girl
N - what? you're a girl? I only found out today
P - thats it
Prachi picks up the nearest thing to her which can hurt Neev and that is his baseball bat and chases him around the house, after she gets tired, Neev comes to her and picks her up in his arms and takes her to their room, he kicks the door shut and gets into bed with Prachi
coming up - the celebration of friendship
