Chapter 5

 

 

          He picked up at the last ring.

          "Hello?" Prithvi said in a raspy voice.

          "Hey babe Did I just wake you up?" I asked. He yawned.

          "Ya but its OK." He said. I felt so guilty that I had actually thought about how hot Angad was when I had such a cute boyfriend.

          Prithvi and I talked for a bit and then I turned of the light and tried to sleep. Tried being the operative word. I was tired, sure, but every time I dreamt, I dreamt of Prithvi. But when he talked, his voice was like Angad's.

          "GOOD MORING!!" screamed a fat lady in pink. I yawned and looked around. After finally falling asleep last night, I was woken up by Alliyah who seemed to have gotten in around 1. Now, six hours later, she seemed like she had slept for 12 hours, while I was ready to drop dead.

          I was sitting by her, Alisha, and Lisa. We were all the newbie orientation and we had just been lectured on how to act. Now we were getting our jobs. When I was filling out the application, I had requested Rides…I hope thats what I got!

          "Alliyah K has the Carousel. Kripa S. has the Hansel and Gretel Shop…." Before she could continue, Alliyah let out a horrified shriek. I looked at her.

          "That's a good job! Why are you so upset?' I asked her. She shook her head slowly.

          "Oh Kripa…im not upset for me...im upset for you!" she said. I just looked at her, confused. "Hansel and Gretel is the worst job imaginable. Angad told me that everyone hates that job!"

          Hmm…why was that? What was so bad about it? But before I could ask Alliyah this, the fat lady, whose name was Patty (nametag) came up to me and asked me to follow her.

          We walked out of the auditorium and into a small cottage shaped building, which was designed to look like a candy shop. I figured it was the Hansel and Gretel Shop. We walked inside and I groaned. It was CROWDED! Man I could just imagine fixing it all up at the end of the day.

          But the worst part came later- Patty and I walked in a small room behind the Witch Mannequins and I let out a shriek similar to Alliyah's. Hanging in front of me was the most horrid costume in the world. A white puffy blouse, a black, shapeless skirt that went right below my knees and an actual Apron that looked like a bib. Ugh.

          Almost 4 hours later Patty tapped me on the back.
           "Alright Kripa, your shift is over. See you tomorrow!" said Patty. I smiled so brightly that my jaw hurt. FINALLY! This had to be the longest day ever! I walked into the dressing room and changed out of my o-so- hideous outfit, and into a pair of Levi Low riders and a Converse Tee.
          I walked outside and edged around a small kid being chased by his mother. "Sorry" I said, as I bumped into a person. I kept walking but stopped abruptly.
          "Kripa?" I froze. No way- it couldn't be...I turned around so fast that my hair whipped at my face. I looked up and saw I was looking into a pair of gorgeous hazel eyes. They were gleaming with happiness and nervousness. I almost said no as I recognized the voice, but managed to squeeze out a small "Yes".
          He smiled at me and I continued. "A...are...are u Angad?" He nodded and smiled.
          Ohh myyy gawwdd he was hot! I could feel my heart thumping so loudly that I thought everyone could hear it. Then he said something that made me almost faint.

 

So that was it! Hope you all liked it! I didn't…it wasn't fun to write this part. But it will get better by the next part because it's all entirely on Angad and Kripa. There was a clue in there for what kind on relationship Alliyah and Angad share…so let's see if anyone gets it! (Except for Brainchild!!). Happy Diwali to All!! Thank You!
