Kripa opened her mouth to say something but was stopped as Angad put his lips on hers and shut her up, he pulled away as her cheeks went red and smiled to himself, Kripa continued to blush as she left Angad's house, he smiled watching her leave.

 

Warning - This is a long part!

 

Angad and the rest of the family plan for the engagement party over the week, Gayatri had inisisted the engagement take place on the weekend so the families only had a week to finalise details. The day of the engagement arrives and havoc is created in the Khanna House

 

A - where's my shervani!!!!!

S - on your bed

A - its not there!

 

Sujal comes into Angad's room where Angad is standing in his jogging bottoms without a top scratching his head

 

A - bhaiya help....please, I've lost my shervani

S - Angad...it should be there

A - so what have I suddenly gone blind? its not there, look yourself

 

Sujal looks in Angad's room and frowns

 

S - ok it isn't there

A - told you....bhaiya someones stolen my shervani

 

Sujal looks at Angad's face which has almost dropped to the floor, he pats his cheek lightly

 

S - don't worry kiddo, it'll be here somewhere, I'll go look

 

Sujal leaves the room, he goes downstairs to ask Naina when he hears Angad scream upstairs, Sujal turns around and runs back upstairs to find Lakshya hiding behind Kashish with Anjali holding Angad back, Sujal comes and stands in-between them

 

S - what is going on

 

Kavya comes and stands opposite Sujal

 

Ka - from what I reckon...Angad is trying to kill Lakshya

L - as usual....

A - look what he's wearing

 

Sujal and Kavya look at Lakshya and frown

 

Ka - Lucky....thats Angad's shervani

L - well it fits me

A - give it back! thats matching with Kripa's outfit!

L - so!

S - enough....Lucky why are you wearing his shervani?

L - because....I don't like the one mum picked out for me

A - what an excuse!

S - shut up.....I'm talking ain't i? ok Lakshya, take it off and give it back to Angad, there's still time left for the engagement, we'll go out and buy you a new one

L - fine

 

Lakshya goes into his room, he changes into jeans and a shirt and hands Angad his shervani back then leaves with Sujal to buy a new shervani. Angad begins to get changed, he stands in front of the mirror doing his hair when Naina sees him, she watches him at first, 10 minutes later she comes back and sees he's still doing his hair, she steps into his room with her hands on her hips

 

N - boy you take long doing your hair! are you a girl or something?

 

Angad smiles at his mum and kisses her cheek

 

A - its my engagement mum, I need to look perfect for your daughter-in-law to be

N - you've made a mistake Angad

A - huh?

N - Kripa won't be my daughter-in-law

A - what? mum don't make jokes like that

N - infact she'll be my daughter and you'll be my son-in-law

A - mum....how can you say that....

 

Angad frowns and folds his arms

 

A - she hasn't even stepped into this house and you've already distanced me

N - well, I've spent over 25 years with men, I'd like to spend some time with women

A - you're mean....

 

Naina smiles and kisses his cheek

 

N - when you're finished pouting, come downstairs, your dad wants to talk to you

A - ok mother-in-law

 

Naina and Angad laugh, he gives her a small hug, checks himself in the mirror once again then heads downstairs where Dilip is sitting in the lounge, Angad sits opposite him

 

A - what's up dad?

D - the sky

A - huh? mum said you wanted to talk

D - yeah, Angad, you're a grown man now....

A - dad this isn't going to be about the birds and the bees....because I know all of that.....

 

Dilip looks at him sternly

 

A - not that I've had any experience....

 

Angad laughs lightly while Dilip folds his arms

 

D - I had this talk with your brothers before their marriages, and now its your turn.

A - go on dad....

D - after your marriage, your responsibilities will increase towards this family and Kripa. I want you handle situations properly, you won't be able to run to your brothers or us all the time Angad, you'll need to face problems, which you will, and tackle them, keeping in mind you will be some ones husband

A - dad don't worry, you've raised us well

D - I know Angad, I'm proud of you and your brothers, I just need to know you're not going to run away from your responsibilities and that you will try your best to make your marriage work

 

Angad smiles and puts his hand on Dilip's lap

 

A - dad, you have nothing to worry about, I promise I will do everything on my part to make this marriage work, the rest is up to your daughter-in-law

D - she's my daughter Angad

A - not you too....first mom says i'm going to be her son-in-law and now you're saying Kripa is your daughter

D - and what's wrong in that? Angad, Kripa is going to leave her family, the last thing she needs is to feel unwelcome, even if that means putting her needs before yours

A (sarcastically) - gee thanks dad...I feel so happy to get married now...knowing my parents will disown me after my marriage....

 

Dilip hits his leg and smiles

 

D - enough acting son, are your brothers ready?

A - Lakshya and Sujal bhaiya should be back from shopping soon, gosh Lakshya is so picky dad...wonder what kind of girl he'll end up with

D - whoever she is, she'll need to learn to live with him

A - that's impossible....I'm his older brother and sometimes I feel like killing him

D - thats natural, but just as you were destined for Kripa, your brother is destined for someone

 

Angad and Dilip look at each other and burst out laughing

 

D - go...see if everything is done

 

Angad continues laughing his way out of the room, Naina comes and sits by him and hugs him

 

D - three down...one to go

 

Naina smiles. Sujal and Lakshya arrive back home and get changed, soon the family leave to go to the hall for the engagement where the Sharma's are already present. Soon the guests arrive, Angad stands by Kripa and tries to hold her hand but she keeps pushing it away while smiling at the guests

 

K - Angad cut it out

A - you always do this....you're so...mean

K - thanks, now stand still before I tell aunty

A (laughs) - I'm not 5 anymore Kripa, why would I be scared of my mom

K - oh really? aunty

 

Naina turns around

 

N - what is it?

A - nothing mom...you go tend to the guests....

 

Naina goes, Angad looks at Kripa

 

A - hmm I see you're going to be very hard to handle after marriage....you'll constantly be telling on me to my mother

K - well I need to keep you in line

A - in that case, I don't want to marry you, I'm leaving

K - leave then

 

Angad smiles at the guests passing and turns to leave when Kripa holds his hand and pulls him back

 

A - I know you well enough to know you won't let me go

K - ok ok now enough of your drama, the ceremony will start soon

A - ok madam

 

Angad and Kripa wait patiently as Dilip gets the attention of the guests and makes the announcement of the engagement, first Kripa is given the ring by Naina, its the same one she gave Angad before, she holds his hand and looks into his eyes, then slips the ring on to his finger, Angad winks at her and she blushes. Angad is then given the ring by Gayatri, he holds Kripa's hand and looks lovingly into her eyes, he then slips the ring onto her finger and kisses her hand causing her to blush even more. Kripa lowers her eyes as Angad smiles at her, everyone around them notice how they are looking at each other and smile until Lakshya nudges Angad

 

L - bhai....everyones staring at you

A - huh?

 

Angad looks up to see several faces staring at him, he smiles nervously and steps behind Sujal, everyone laughs and starts clapping. Sujal puts his arm around Angad

 

S - so what was it you were doing on my wedding....oh yeah singing that song...ek kunwara phir gaya mara....so bruv...hows it feel now

A - bhaiya...that was just fun

Ka - fun hey?

 

Angad looks to his other side and sees Kavya smiling

 

Ka - bhaiya...why don't we have some fun?

S - thats a good idea

A - you wouldn't

Ka - you know us very well Angad....you know we will

A - bhaiya no....please...don't I'm sorry

S - too late...time for revenge, come on Kavya

 

Angad frowns and stands there as Sujal and Kavya go to the centre stage, Sujal takes the microphone from the DJ

 

S - good evening everyone, I'm so happy my younger brother is engaged today, and I want to take this time to wish him and Kripa the best in their future....and to also dedicate this wonderful song to him

 

Angad tries to protest to Dilip but Dilip doesn't listen, Sujal and Kavya turn off the lights and the spot lights come on them, Sujal starts to sing Rabba Khair Kare from Hattrick

Sujal and Kavya stops singing to find Angad fuming with anger, Lakshya however is laughing his head off despite being told off numerous times by Naina. Dilip goes to the centre stage

 

D - very nice performace boys.....now for the couple of the evening...Angad and Kripa, please come to the dancefloor

 

Angad and Kripa smile at each other, Angad takes her hand and leads her to the dancefloor. The DJ asks Angad what song to put on, he whispers in his ear and smiles at Kripa, he takes her by her wiats as she wraps her arms around his shoulders, Angad pulls her closer to him so that she can feel his heartbeat, Kripa rests her head on his shoulder and closes her eyes, Angad rests his chin on her head softly and also closes his eyes. The DJ plays Tere Naam and the two look at each other and smiles and begin to dance

Angad holds Kripa's hand and twirls her then pulls her towards him so that her back is against his chest, he kisses her neck softly, Kripa blushes and tries not to let anyone see, Angad turns her around again and holds her waist

Angad and Kripa get lost in each other's arms, time stands still for them, its as if no one else is in the room apart from them. Angad turns Kripa around so her back is against his chest again, and puts his hands on her stomach, Kripa puts her hands on top of his and rests her head back against his shoulder and closes her eyes.

Angad and Kripa stay as they are in each others arm imagining their own world where only the two of them reside, neither wants to open their eyes in fear that the world will be lost, but both get disturbed as masses of applause and hooting rings through the hall, Angad opens his eyes first and smiles, Kripa opens her and notices everyone and blshes, she tries to step away from Angad but he pulls her back and hugs her, Kripa hugs him back only to hear more hooting and applause.
