Part 49 – Honeymoon decisions

I: Umm…Maa?

D: Haan, beta? Kuch kaam tha?

I: Woh – actually, I – (Looks at Eklavya uncertainly) Umm, I made this mango juice for you.

D: Really? That's so sweet of you!

 

             Damini took the juice and sipped it with a straw. It was clear she loved it.

 

N: Maa? This is for you.

Tanya: Milk tea? Oh thank you so much Nisha!

 

             Tanya sipped her traditional Indian style milk tea carefully. The tea was wonderful! Both girls had succeeded in their mission. Their first day as bahus had been the way it should have been.

Archita: Bhaiya, when are you going for your honeymoon?

Tulsi: Arre, haan! Woh toh hum bhool hi gaye.

Karan: Nisha, Isha, tell us, where do want to go?

N: Oh, um. I dunno

A: Oh, come on, Nisha! Think romance! Think Europe! Paris! England! Spain! Greece!

Lakshya: You think England is romantic?

A: Well, it's part of Europe.

Pari: (rolls her eyes at Archita) Bhaiya, you should go to Jamaica.

A: Yes! Somewhere exotic!!

L: How about Mexico?

A: Well, I still think Europe is the best. How about France?

L: If you have to say Europe then it should be Paris.

Pari: No way. It should be Portugal! Or Italy.

A: Italy? Why would –

T: Ok! Ok. When it comes to your honeymoon, you guys can decide. But right now we'll let the two couples decide. So Isha, Nisha, where do you want to go to?

 

             For Nisha and Isha, who had been orphans their life, it was an overwhelming experience to just pick a country from the globe and say 'I want to go there'. Before, every paisa they had was important. But this was just unreal. They actually had a chance to choose any country they would like to go to. Any country that they wanted! Nisha looked at Manthan uncertainly. He smiled at her encouragingly.

 

N: (whispers) I don't know anything about these countries…

M: That's why we're going on a honeymoon. So you can see these places.

N: But these places, they must be so expensive. Each one is so different and unique in its own different way. How can I just pick one? They're all so good.

M: Describe anywhere you'd think we would enjoy being together.

N: (smiles) Anywhere with you…

M: (smiles) Ok, tell me somewhere that you've always wanted to go.

N: Somewhere with nature around me…With awe-inspiring scenery…a lot of architecture and strong culture…

M: You'll like Europe. (To everyone) Ok, Nisha and I are going to go to Europe.

Isha: (whispers unhappily) Europe?

M: You don't like Europe, Isha?

I: No, it's fine – it's just – I just think it's a little classy and, you know, old…

E: Ok, then, Isha. What kind of a place would you like to go to?

I: I dunno. I love beaches and sunny weather. Somewhere far away where there's nobody but you and me! Eklavya, where do you want to go?

E: I'm just following you.

I: (Smiles)

E: Sunny…How about Mauritius? No…You like somewhere far away…got it. We're going to Hawaii.

I: (Eyes widen) Really?!

E: Really.

I: Wow.

 

Archita: Why are you guys whispering? Tell us too!

M: We've decided. Nisha and I are going to Europe and Eklavya and Isha are going to Hawaii.

Tanya: But Europe is really big, Manthan. Where in Europe?

A: How about Spain?

Pari: How about Belgium? They have really nice chocolate!

L: They're not going there to eat chocolates, moti! Thinking of food all day! I say France. It's really beautiful.

 

Pari whacked Lakshya for his rude comments.

 

KT: Why not Germany.

L: There're going for a honeymoon. Not to see Hitler's extermination camps.

KT: Fine then, Monaco?

A: No, Luxembourg! No, wait, that's not romantic, is it?

Pari: The Netherlands?

             Nisha and Manthan sighed at them. Nisha remembered learning about Europe in World Geography. The place that she'd always wanted to visit was Austria.

 

N: (In a small voice) Umm... How about Austria?

 

             Everyone stared at her. Austria…Hmmm…why hadn't we thought of that? So it was decided. Nisha and Manthan were going to Austria and Isha and Eklavya were going to Hawaii.

 

No that great of a part but I promise I'll try to make the honeymoon part much better...
