Chapter 38

Part 38 – The Shocking News

 

Manthan sat down by the pool. Damn. He had messed up things big time with Nisha. Now how on earth was he going to tell her that everything that happened was no longer true? It was true that before he had met her, he'd been an angry, spoilt, rude and obnoxious person. But after he got to know her, he changed. Everything about him changed. He was no longer the Manthan that he used to be that went to parties, did drugs, chased after girls and acted too cool. Now, after meeting Nisha, he had realized the true meaning of life. It wasn't going to parties and having fun or seeing how many girls you could get; it was the way Nisha lived life. She actually wanted to be something in life. She cared about people and she cared about things. Before Manthan's excuse was the fact that nobody loved him. His father, Karan Virani, never appreciated him for anything. But now, he understood why his father always neglected him. But Nisha never had anybody to love or to get love from. She was an orphan. Yet she had no complaints from life. A tear rolled down Manthan's cheek as he realized what a gem of a person he had lost.

             Inside, Isha and Eklavya were still dancing peacefully unaware of their friends' situation. Eklavya felt his phone vibrate and picked it up.

 

E: Eklavya here.

Caller: Hey, Eklavya, it's Parth. You know your girl friend? She just got into an accident up Mongolia Rd. I took her to the hospital just now. She's at Maha Lakshmi Hospital right now. She's hurt really bad, man. You need to see her right now. There's all these forms that her asks personal information about her.

E: But how's that possible? Isha's –

            

             Eklavya stopped midway in his sentence. If Parth had seen a girl getting into an accident that looked like Isha, it had to be Nisha!

 

E: Umm.. Thanks Parth. I'll be right there. (Turns off his cell) Isha, there's something I need to tell you.

I: Kya?

E: (Hesitates) Nisha – got into – Nisha got into an accident.

I: WHAT!?

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw an enraged Isha coming up towards him with Eklavya by her side.

 

I: Manthan!!

M: Isha, please, leave me alone –

I: Manthan listen to me! This is important!

M: Isha, seriously, I need to -

M: Di got into an accident!

M: Kya!

I: (Crying) Di – di ka accident hua hai!

M: Lekin kaise?

I: I dunno! You were with her last! You wrote her that letter didn't you? Meet me on the roof?

M: Ya but she left after she saw –

 

             Manthan realized what had happened. Nisha had been so upset seeing Manthan and Sarika together that she had gotten into an accident. This was entirely his fault. He went inside and announced the ending of the party. He called his parents and the rest of the family members to tell them the horrid news.

 

Tulsi: Toh hum yahaan kya kar rahe hai? Let's get to the hospital quickly!

 

Manthan ran outside but was surprised to see his bike missing. How could that be possible - ? Then he realized that Nisha must have taken the bike! This is ENTIRELY his fault!! He got into one of the family cars with Isha and Eklavya and drove his way to Maha Lakshmi hospital. If anything would happen to Nisha, he would never be able to forgive himself.
