This is NOT The Ball [Part II]... this is the part in between Part I & II. - RJOpal
Chapter 20: In Between
The song is just to give it a military type of atmosphere... lol. Sorry if the lyrics are wrong!
Poocho na humse
Hai kya zindagi...
Humse humari
Hai ye zindagi...
Rajveer, Naina, Nandini and Huda went outside through the east gate, noting that the guards were on the floor, unconscious. They had decided that all seven of them going out to investigate would be foolish, so Ali, Pooja and Abhimanyu stayed inside to monitor the moves of the terrorists inside, hoping to arrest them red-handed somehow.
Na poori dhup hain,
Na poori chaon hain,
Jaisi ye raah hain,
Vaise he paon hain.
The smoke was even denser out in the halls. They tried fanning it out of their way to see their way more clearly while trying to suppress their coughs. Suddenly there was a burst of more smoke from somewhere near, and Rajveer yelled "Cover your mouth and nose and move away!" They all ran in the opposite direction, a sudden feeling of tiredness enveloping them. All four slumped down once they were in a new hallway. "They're definitely there…" Rajveer said weakly.
Jahan hain ache hain,
Jaise hain ache hain,
Jhoothe hain sache hain,
Jaise hain ache hain.
"Come on, we can't stop now…" Nandini tried getting up.
"But we can't advance either!" Huda exclaimed, panting.
"No, but we can go around and sneak up to them from behind!" Naina told them, getting up with some effort, and then holding out her hand towards Rajveer. He gave her a proud look and accepted it, feeling more refreshed.
Samjhao na…
Batlao na…
Hame kaise jeena hai,
Let it be…
"Naina's right. They're probably waiting for us to advance again, and by the time they realize we're not going to, we'll attack them from behind."
"Good plan… one glitch; what if they're looking for us? And what exactly are they trying to do?" Nandini asked.
"I think they're trying to get Captain Rajveer-" Huda started.
"- Major Rajveer-" Naina corrected him.
"- out in the open so that they can attack him… I mean he's the one who knows most about them!" He finished.
Samjhao na…
Batlao na…
Hame kaise jeena hai,
Let it be…
"Good thinking Cadet Huda… now let's go. If they're looking for us, we'll just have to try to stay out of their sight… if we can't, we deal with them." said Rajveer. He started moving inside the hall when Naina caught his sleeve.
"I think we should try going outside… room no. 210 is only a few meters away; if we can reach it then we can take the other route from there." She explained.
"OK let's go, enough talking." Nandini said, giving the two a push.
Left Right Left... dil me hai yahiin kahiin,
Left Right Left...duniya pe door nahin,
Left Right Left... ankhon me sitare hain,
Left Right Left... ankhon se utare hain.

Back in the hall:
"Sir, look!" Ali tilted his head slightly sideways. Abhimanyu and Pooja spotted one of Gehlot's assistants holding something in his ear.
"He's getting orders for something… Cadet Begh, follow him. Don't do anything unless you're absolutely sure he's about to do harm, OK? Go!"
"Careful and good luck!" whispered Pooja in his ear. He nodded and coon vanished in the crowd following the assistant. Pooja waved to Yudi and Aalekh who were approaching them.
"Aalekh, Ali has just left to follow-"
"Yeah, I've seen it."
"Good, go help Ali. These people won't hesitate to kill; if there are two of you, you guys can tackle him easily." Abhimanyu told him, but Aalekh had already left.
"Sir, what should we do?" Yudi asked, pointing to Pooja and himself. He guessed that the other four had gone to investigate the explosion.
"You two keep an eye on the other assistant and the man beside Colonel Shakti Chandra. I'll watch the Boss." Yudi mouthed 'the Boss?' to Pooja with their backs to Abhimanyu, going a bit closer to the terrorists, but she just looked Gehlot. His eyes widened, but stopped himself from saying anything. This wasn't the time to sort out everything; he had another job in hand.

Somewhere in KMA:
"Where are they?! I thought you were sure that they would come after us…" Jamshed muttered angrily to his partner.
"That Captain Rajveer and Cadet Singh are known for being so hot-headed about protecting their country… Boss told us that they would surely come after us as well… maybe the gas worked, look in that hallway – mmph!" Someone had put his hand over his mouth and twisted his neck. He fell to the floor, either unconscious or dead.
Jamshed looked around in shock; looking for a masked face like his own, but seeing only smoke. Soon after, he was on the floor of the games' room, hands tied behind him. He looked around, noting his partner was tied up as well on the opposite side of the room, still unconscious.
"Should we leave them here, or interrogate them now? Personally, I'd like to go back to the Ball… but of course, my duty to my country is more important!" Huda said, trying to decide if Rajveer was impressed or angry at him. They were standing outside the room now.
"I have a better plan…" Rajveer answered, with a glint in his eyes, not letting his emotions take control. They huddled together as he explained the plan. As soon as he was done, the rest nodded, and he left with Naina for the hall, leaving Huda and Nandini on the guard.
He made sure that the hallway was deserted and took her hand. When she didn't respond, he turned her around to face him. Seeing a sparkle in her eye he realized she was playing around. He brought his face really close to hers, feeling her warm breath. She still didn't respond, but had a small smile on her lips. Without breaking the eye contact, he snaked his arm around her waist and jerked her closer to him softly. He could feel her breath becoming quicker, and leaned forward.
"We should… go back…" she whispered, lowering her eyes. She knew that even playing around could go far, and this wasn't the time for it. That wasn't the only thing that bothered her though; she didn't want to admit it, but she was running away from her feelings once again unknowingly.
He knew that she was right, and a sudden feeling of guilt washed over him. Love wasn't the only reason he was doing what he was at that moment; he was trying to run away from the world and the truth about Gehlot. He held back a sigh, and moved away from Naina, though his arm was still around her waist. It was time to go back to reality.RJOpal 39296.090775463
