Chapter 40

EPISODE-40

 

 

Abdul came in running. He looked troubled.

"Alekh Bhai..."

"Kya baat hai Abdul?"

"Ek bahut badi problem ho gayi hai!"

"Kya hua?"

"Army ne border pe security tight kar di hai. Wahan se nikalna ab bahut mushkil ho jaayega."

"Damn it!!" Alekh shrieked.

"Alekh this is a major problem and we will have to figure out something really fast."

"That's right. Naina wake him up." Alekh told Naina signaling towards Navin.

 

She woke him up. Alekh told him about the problem. They all were lost and tried to find out a solution. But none of them had any. After a long silence Rajveer said.

"Let's do one thing. Aaj raat hum dono yahan se nikalte hain aur pehle army ki location aur strength find out karte hain. Uske baad hi hum koi plan bana sakte hain. But in the first place let's postpone tonight's plan."

"I think you are right. Main Neetu ko inform kar deta hoon ki aaj ka plan cancel ho gaya hai."

"Okay."

 

Sometime around midnight they set out to check the situation at the border. They instructed Abdul to stay back and look after Naina and Navin.

 

It was about 3:30 in the morning. They hadn't returned. Naina was looking at the watch repeatedly. She felt like time was flying away rapidly.  She was too tensed.

"Bhaiyya andhera ab dheere-dheere kam hone lagega. They are getting late now."

"I know. Ab to mujhe bhi fikr ho rahi hai."

At that very moment there was a knock at the door. Abdul went to check it. Rajveer and Alekh had returned.

 

"Thank god you guys came back in time. Warna apne peeche-peeche poori army leke aate." Navin said.

"Don't worry hum zyada der yahan ruke to waise hi army hum tak pahunch jaayegi."

"Raj is right. I don't know how but humein yahaan se nikalna hoga... ASAP. And that means aaj raat."

"Security bahut zyada tight hai kya?" Navin asked Alekh.

"Haan. Looks like tumhare hi swagat ki tayyariyan chal rahi hain. But on a serious note from what it looks like, they might start patrolling nearby areas anytime."

 

"Lekin karenge kya hum? Niklenge kaise?" Naina asked.

"We cannot fight with them. This option, therefore, is ruled out." Rajveer said.

"Then I think the only option is to distract them." Naina suggested.

Everyone turned to her looking surprised. She was right. That was the only option they had.

She got a bit embarrassed thinking she said something wrong.

 

"Naina is right." Navin finally spoke. She felt better to find her brother supporting her.

"Naina waise tum Raj ke saath rehte-rehte ek mahine mein hi aadhi army waali ban gayi ho." Alekh tried to pull her leg.

"Alekh... Cut the crap and find out a way." She snapped.

 

He asked for a map from Abdul and he gave him that. He studied the map carefully for a while.

"Raj tune Raiwind mein kuch guns and grenades nikale the na."

"Haan. Two guns and 6 grenades."

"Okay. I think that will be sufficient."

 

"Okay guys, here's the plan. Aaj raat hum yahan se niklenge. Jab tak hum chaaron border tak pahunchenge Abdul yahan sehamare saath  nikalega but border tak nahin jaayega. Sharp at 0130 hours pe border se thoda paas lekin humse ek kilometer ki doori pe 3 consecutive blasts honge. Harek blast ke beech time lag should be 20 seconds and distance not more than 50 metres. Am I clear?"

"Jee. Aap jab, jahan aur jaise bolenge blasts waise hi honge."

"Great but make sure that there are no casualities until inevitable. These blasts should be enough to create a chaos that lasts for the time we need to cross the border."

 

Alekh marked the exact location of blast and their own location on the map and worked out on a few other details with him.

"And remember I don't want you to be caught."

"Aap uski fikr mat kijiye. Main sambhaal loonga."

"I really hope so. Ab hamari sahi-salamat wapasi poori tarah se tumhare upar hai."

"Ek aur zaroori factor hai jispe hamari success depend karegi." Rajveer intervened.

"Kya?"

"Timing... Right?" Navin asked.

"Right. Navin ab bhi is condition mein nahin hai ki hum jaldi se border cross kar le. Waise bhi border yahan se 3 kilometers ki distance pe hai."

"You have got a point. 0130 hours pe blast honge that means humein wahan latest 01:15 tak pahuchna hai. Matlab taking some safety margin humein yahan se 2300 hours tak nikalna hoga."

"But it might be little early. There are chances of being seen."

"To kya karein?"

"Jab hum yahan last time aaye the to yahan light nahin thi. Right Abdul?"

"Haan yahan to aksar light jaati rehti hai. Chota sa gaon hai. Itni facilities nahin hai."

"Exactly. Yahan aksar light jaati hai aur aaj raat phir jaayegi." Rajveer winked at Alekh.

"Great. Matlab aaj raat ki aatishbaazi tak gaaonwaalon ko andhere mein rehna hoga. "

"Majboori hai. Yehi andhera hamari zindagi mein roshni lane mein madad karega." They gave a high five.

 

Rajveer turned to Navin.

"Navin aaj raat ki bhaag daud ke liye tu practice kar le thodi si and then take rest. Aaj ki raat... ya to aar ya paar."
