EPISODE-31

 

Rajveer was studying the map carefully. Naina also joined him.

 

"Yeh hai Shekhpura, jahan Navin ko shift kiya jaa raha tha aur yeh hai woh jagah jahan Navin escaped. Is jungle se nikal kar obviously Navin kisi inhabited area ko dhoondhne ki koshish karega where he can get some treatment. Is jungle ke aas paas sirf do hi aise areas hain jahan Navin k hone ki possibility hai. Either Posrur towards the west or Narowal towards the east." He explained her the possibilities.

 

"Waise Raj yeh bhi to ho sakta hai na ki Bhaiyya ko dubara un logon ne pakad liya ho. I mean Bhaiyya injured hain, zyada door nahin jaa payenge."

"Well... Possible to hai."

"So how do we find out ki Bhaiyya arrest ho chuke hain ya nahin?"

"Simple. Aagar us jungle ke aas-paas ab bhi army hui, jo ki kal tak thi, to iska matlab hai ki they haven't found Navin yet and if there is no one then...."

"Raj... It's been almost 2 days now...Bullet wound ke saath do you think any one can survive for 2 days." Naina's sounded depressed.

"I wont give you false hopes but agar is beech Navin ko kahin se treatment mil gaya to he'll be atleast out of danger if not fine. But I am talking about a miracle."

"And miracles do happen. I am sure of it...... Anyways do you think tumhein aur tumhari bimaar wife ko... sorry Begum ko is waqt is haalat mein yeh jagah chodni chahiye." She chuckled and winked at him and even he smiled.

"Well chodni to nahin chahiye but looks like meri begum ko thodi si teemaardaari ki zaroorat hai."

"Kiski zaroorat hai?" She didn't understand what he said.

"I mean Nagma needs to taken care of and that too under medical supervision."

"Oh... Toh ambulance bulayein."

"Beshak."

 

They packed their bags and called for the ambulance. They were waiting for the ambulance to come. Rajveer has instructed the hotel staff not to come before ambulance arrives.

"Waise yeh to batao ki mujhe hua kya hai?"

"Sorry madam.... mujhe jitni story concoct karni thi maine kar li....ab ise continue tumhein karna hai."

"Lekin...." Suddenly they heard the ambulance siren.

"Lie down...Quick."

"Sure my dearest hubby..... Main to unconscious hoon to doctor ko meri medical history brief kar dena aur zara achche se.... Okay."

 

Saying this she lied down on the bed pretending to be unconscious. Rajveer was smiling. He had seen her in this mood after long. Mere news about Navin's escape has brought her smile back but he was dying to see her as she used to be, once they find Navin. Naina opened her eyes.

"Mr. Khan yahan aapki wife is so unwell aur aap muskura rahein hain."

"Tum agar abhi isi waqt apna mooh band kar ke faint nahin hui to yeh hum dono ki last smile hogi. Now just shut up."

 

Soon she was rushed to the nearby hospital. She regained her 'consciousness' on the way in the ambulance and pretended an acute asthama attack that for the obvious reasons calmed down as they neared the hospital. She was admitted immediately but doctors could not diagnose her exact ailment. Her Blood Pressure was a little high.

 

"Aapka inhaler kahan hai?" Doctor asked her.

"Inhaler?" She said in a shabby voice and looked at Rajveer who was standing behind the doctor.

"Pata nahin shayad jaldi-jaldi mein Hotel room mein reh gaya hoga."

"Aapko in sab cheezon ka dhyaan rakhna chahiye Khan Sahab."

"Jee main samajhta hoon...aage se dhyaan rakhoonga." He answered while staring at Naina.

"Theek hai main kuch tests likh deta hoon aap jitni jaldi ho sake karwa lijiye."

"Humein koi tests nahin karwane yahan par." Naina interrupted them.

"Dekhiye jab tak aap tests nahin karwaayengi tab tak aapko sahi illaj nahin mil paayega."

"Hum abhi theek hain. Aur humein wapas jaana hai, apni Ammi ke paas. Woh doctor hain."

"Lekin Nagma ji...."

"Humnein kaha na hum abhi theek hai aur Ammi jaan sab sambhal lengi. Hum wahan jaa kar saare tests bhi karwa lenge. Aap bas humein discharge de dijiye." While Naina said this she was looking very ill and weak. Her voice was frail and eyes, moist. For once Rajveer was actually worried thinking she is unwell. But she managed to convince the doctor that she wants a discharge. Doctors gave strict instructions to Rajveer to take care of her and let her not exert herself and allowed them go. They finally were free to trail their own path. Checking out from the Hotel after staying for only one night could have aroused suspicion. So they had chosen this way which was longer but comparatively safer.

 

"Now what's next?"

"Pehle tum mujhe yeh batao if you are actually alright or not."

"Of course I am Raj."

He took a sigh of relief.

"Oh my God! Raj don't tell me even you fell for it."

"You know what Naina....Once we return, give up your RJ job and painting. You should be an actress. You actually scared me."

Naina smiled.

"Woh sab lautne ke baad dekhenge filhaal ab kya?"

"Hum main road se Jungle mein enter nahin kar sakte. Wahan Army aur local police ki tight security hogi.  So let's enter from the other side. Hum yahan se Chak Amru jaayenge....aur wahan se Posrur."
