Chapter 15 - In all his Glory

Had it been another girl, she would have felt dejected by what Dev had tried to do with her. But Geet had no feelings for Dev, rather she was shocked on her own self as how she or her family could not see the real face of Khurana’s.

She will definitely put Dev and his family behind the bar. But what filled her heart with warmth was her professor. The way he was like a protective shield.

“Mom-Dad” Geet shouted as she entered.

“Geet, calm down. Dad is in study due to some urgent email from Khurana Enterprise”

“Khurana Enterprise? Sunday? Definitely it’s Dev’s deed. I will check on Dad”

“It’s Ok. What were you shouting for?”

“Mom, afterwards. Anyways that issue has been handled”

“What issue? Geet you went to a party yesternight and you are entering here in the morning. ”

“Mom, I will let you know all that happened. It was a horrible experience but I am fine now. Let me check on Dad”

“Gee-eet” she called from behind but Geet had already left.

“Dad? What did these Khurana’s do now? I will not spare them”

“Geet,Where were you the whole night?”

“With my friend Dad. I was fine, will let you know how dirty these Khurana’s are”

Mohinder stood alert, “Why what happened?” 

“Dad, nothing happened, I am fine."

"Are you sure?" he asked skeptical

"Dad, I am fine, we will talk about that later. Trust me.what’s the email about”

Mohinder hesitated, “Geet, we missed the bigger part of the company you did a merger deal with. Seventy Five percent share. It is owned by one single person. He had liquidated it, it’s not the Khurana’s as we were thinking”

“What? Someone other than Dev and Family, someone other than Khurana’s own seventy five percent of KE. How come? Who is it?”

“Not declared as of now. Maybe a Khurana , maybe not. But the person has called a meeting with all shareholders and all merging companies to join that mega meeting. He is going to evaluate all the deals and it feels like there is going to be some major management change in KE”

“No one knows who he is? Dev must know. They never told us Dad, how could they? We had signed a deal with them, I was engaged to Dev and he hid such big news from us. Well, nothing better can be expected from him.” 

“Geet, for now forget about Dev. Let’s focus on our presentation. You have to give your best so he does not deny our merger. If it is now accepted with that seventy five percent in, it will be a huge merger for us”

“Dad, I am not interested in any merger with KE. I have already promised my friend for a merger with him”

“Which company is that? Is it as huge as KE”

“I don’t know” “You don’t know and you are leaving this opportunity? This impracticality I never expected from you”

“How practical were we Dad to do a merger with Dev? We had so many doubts but still we proceeded, with deal and with engagement. If it was not for him, my life was going to be messed up”

“Geet, I don’t want this real owner to think that 'The Handa group' ran away from the challenge. Who knows, he is impressed by you and offer you something you cannot deny”

“I will do this presentation for the reputation of the company, but rest assured, I won’t accept his offer. I won’t break my promise to someone” Geet said in flow

“Dear we will see that but for the reputation of company, can we only focus on presentation till that grand event”

“Sure Dad. I promise. But Dad I won't break my promise, even if he has nothing…” Mohinder knotted his brows

“Is my daughter in love?” He asked with a smile.

“I don’t know Dad" She made a baby face "but if I am, I am badly into it. He is such a crazy” He smiled and patted her shoulder and shook his head

“You are crazy. After this KE Grand meet, this will be my top most priority.”

“Thanks Dad” Geet said with big smile. Mohinder for the first time in life saw the shy and blushy look of his , otherwise up front daughter.

So Geet has no option but get busy fixing her stats and presentation. Her Dad has expectations from her and she cannot let him down. 

Ohh she wanted to get all this over. She was missing her prof. badly. Had she been with him, his business acumen would have guided her. She is capable but his touch would have made things so perfect. How much she was missing him in everything.

These days, staying apart, her feelings have surfaced and she knew, first thing that she is going to do after the KE Grand Meet is to run to him and confess her feelings openly.

Geet was ready and all set for the meeting.

“Dad, this is the first time I am so nervous. I have heard, there are much bigger players coming. We are such small in comparison”

“Think positive Geet. I know you will do great. You focus on what we have. Do you want me to accompany?”

“No Dad. It’s my deal. I don’t want to show I am weak or nervous. I will do great.”

“Okay, then your Mom and I will be leaving for Hoshiyarpur today. We got very good news that your Daarji regained some speaking ability. ``''Really?” Geet hugged her Dad for the good news.

Geet reached the Khurana Enterprise, showed her invitation for the Grand Meet. She was surprised to see the whole Aura of the office. It was lively, it was busy like never before. Earlier. whenever she had come before, she had a feeling of dullness, but today, it looked vibrant.

Geet took the elevator and took the way to the big conference room. As she was passing she saw a grand office room. She had never come to this floor before but the office looked to be newly renovated. The curtains were down and a couple of people were there. She could not resist the temptation to look at the nameplate

“Maan Singh Khurana"

“Maan Singh Khurana” she repeated. “One more Khurana, how come we never knew. All we know is that Dev is the director of the company. CEO and President? Gosh, is this the one with seventy Five percent share. Who is this Khurana? Does he stay out of India?” All confused, Geet entered the Conference room.

Ohh wow, Conference room was huge, lit with big windows and tables with great snacks, juices and drinks, Writing Pad and setup for presentation. These things happened everywhere but each piece here was A plus in its ways and style.

All high class businessmen and women were waiting and having discussions. Geet’s eye went on Dev, his Dad and vicky. They definitely were not happy.

Seeing Geet there, they were shocked and worried. She will now know who Maannu is. And why is she here? They were further confused as she is quiet about that day's event.

Geet totally ignored them. She, anyway, had plans to give her presentation and prove 'The Handa Group' and leave. He has asked for a leap of faith and she will give him that. She has yet not seen anyone yet to have that level of Business understanding and that hold on market trends. 

The room was darkened and the big screen read.

“Maan Singh Khurana, CEO and President of Khurana Enterprise, Welcomes you to the Grand Meet of Khurana Enterprise”

Ohh so her guess was right? This is the main Khurana and not Dev?But how has she never heard of him? Because they hid his name? Geet was in her confused world when she heard a prideful and strong voice

“Welcome Everyone” the voice caught her attention and soon the spotlight fell on the orator giving Geet shock of her life

“Professor?” She placed hand on her mouth.

“Professor is Khurana. Maan Singh Khurana, wow. Professor is Seventy Five percent shareholder, gosh. No wonder Dev has no personality in front of him. Ohh Gosh, my professor.” her surprise and excitement was limitless.

“Attention everyone” and the hall lit and everyone clapped. Geet realized that the bigger players of the market, all knew him and only those working with Dev, were shocked, just like her. Ohh how she wished she was on the other side of the audience who knew him. 

“I hope there is excitement between the audience as we are here to reinvent Khurana Enterprise. We have seen that Khurana Enterprise is going downhill, and seeing the saddest phase of its lifetime. I have thus decided to take control of Khurana Enterprise in my own hand. The Seventy Five percent of Khurana Enterprise that I had liquidated, I am bringing back here. How many of you are with me in this?” Everyone one clapped to welcome him. He was so focused on what he was doing, his eyes did not even go to her. He knew she was here, but this was a major change and dream of his grandfather, he cannot falter.

All those who were already allies with him definitely wanted him to join Khurana Enterprise. Now their share price will rise as it will become part of Khurana Enterprise.

Media was there as well, capturing the great event. 

Dev and family were standing in one corner.

He continued further “Dev had wanted to handle the company. I gave him the opportunity but the company is going in dowhill, I have to thus take things under my control” He talked like a boss and the real owner. The confidence and authority.. Why did she not realize, professor was a mystery, how could she miss to find more about him.

When he had said he was busy, he was really busy taking over.

“And now that I am merging share back in Khurana Enterprise, the share of Dev Khuarna, Sanjeev khurana, Vikrant Khurana and Anwehsa khurana together value to Fifteen percent of total”

Geet looked at Dev and family, the color of their face was gone. 

He continued, grabbing her attention to himself.

“Now that Dev has less than four percent share, I am compelled to take the Director's position from him. This is all for the betterment of the company and by rule of the company.” Dev’s face color changed. Shock written all over.

“Now all those who have the merger deal with Dev and want to move their deal with me are welcomed. You can present your company, if I feel it’s worth it, I will join hands with you.”

“Wow, what a game changer.” Geet was surprised and in a shocked state. He was the real owner, he had given power to Dev, which Dev had flaunted. Everything belonged to her Professor - The Maan Singh Khurana, she thought and smiled as she was endlessly proud of him.

Geet was the first one to step to him, she, anyways would. Then most of Dev and Sanjeev’s allies came towards Maan.

Everything was going above Dev’s and Sanjeev’s head. This drunkard, who wandered the whole day, how come he played such a game. When did he make his money so strong?

“Dad, you have to do something. He is using his brain, we thought he forgot he was brilliant. Time for emotional setup Dad.” Dev was in panic.

“Not now Dev. Let things settle down. Keeping quiet is the best option now.”

Maan was busy with people when Geet came on stage. He looked at her. She smiled, first time nervous in front of her own professor. 

“I want to join hands with you Mr. Maan Singh Khurana” she spoke his name with all pride. He forwarded his hand and she hers. Her hand, he felt were cold. He squeezed them, kind of assuring her

“Sure, start your presentation. Tell us why should I join with you” his formal tone ran chill through her. Come on, he was her professor, he could do anything for her. Still his professional look intimidated her. He looked Damn serious with business.

Geet did her presentation,  no doubt it was much better than what she had even prepared. The zeal to impress her professor was at peak, more than joining hands professionally.

He clapped, “You are welcome to the team.” ohh her happiness knew no bound. Dev was shocked and irked. Last thing he wanted was these two in same team. Geet was already pissed off with Dev for endless reasons. But she felt peace, the way the professor had brought these cheapsters down. It was much more satisfactory than sending him Jail. She will let Prof. play all his games with them and then she will file the complaint to conclude the punishment. Till then she will chill and enjoy their destruction at the hands of her professor.

He was completely professional there, meeting his old allies, thanking them for continued support to him and their trust on him. She could never imagine the level of professionalism he could even carry, the casualness that he always had with her. 

She was further surprised, how he could have won her just by letting her know about his truth. But he took all the weird and tough paths to win her heart. He won her heart by the person that he was not just by the great name and power that he held. He had not shown her his powerful side but had exposed his most vulnerable side to her.

But with that his expectations and words hit her. He had already told her, she has to find out about him herself if she is so interested. She had ignored his words. Why has she been ignoring all his hints? No now she will not delay, she will confess.

After some chit chatting and snack break, Maan again went on the stage 

“Okay. Thanks for joining everyone. All those not happy with the change are free to depart from Khurana Enterprise. We will join next month to select new director of Khuaran Enterprise.” He ended the meeting, gave a brief look at her, their eyes met, hidden smiles exchanged and he left. His team followed him. 

Geet ran after him, Dev kept looking at her

Maan was at door of his cabin when Geet reached him “Can we talk please” He looked at people around him 

“Excuse us please” and he signaled her to enter his cabin. 

As they were alone, “Thanks for giving me time to talk.” she hugged him, he immediately pressed the remote to pull the blinds down and hugged her back, kissed her head and separated to look at her. She was beaming with pride for him. He had never ever seen this pride in her eyes for him. There was a slight crack in his heart. It should not, with the way she was happy only for him, but the sensitive person that he was, his way of looking at things was not worldly at all.

“You surprised me like hell. You are the whole Khurana Enterprise, CEO and president. Ohh professor, so so proud of you and thanks for taking me in with you. This whole surprise, I can't believe it all. You are a khurana but how. Ohh, gonna go crazy with all about you. It will take time to sink in. I mean how could you keep so low profile” 

“I don’t like public image. But had to take things under control. Can’t see my company drowning.” He said with a shrug. 

Geet was madly in flow of her excitement. She hugged him again and was about to pour her heart and confess him her feelings when he pulled her to him with his hands around her waist

“Don’t change your ways with me now. As decided, we will be the way we are. Nothing changes with this” Geet looked at him and smiled. Her heart pained as she stopped herself from confessing.

Thanks Everyone for your support. Hope you like the progress. I know very less Maaneet moments but this was needed to proceed the story. Lots coming up, don't worry on that front.
