Chapter 14 - Dirty Face Exposed

Mohinder and Geet were so scared to leak the engagement news to Rano. She was so excited for marriage.

When Rano heard the news from a scared Mohinder, her first question was “Why?”

“I am not compatible with Dev” Rano very well knew Geet, very well knew this ‘not compatible’ term was not her daughters’. 

“Dev is the reason or someone else, speak truth”

Geet closed her eyes, took a deep breath, gathering strength for her mother’s anger. Held both Rano’s hand in hers “Someone else but mom don’t jump into conclusion, I am not sure if I love him or not. But we a-a-are…., I mean he is crazy”

“Who is capable of making you crazy?” came her mother’s unexpected response “What? Mom I said he is crazy” Geet was confused

“and you broke your engagement in that craziness.” She looked up the ceiling and prayed to her Babaji

“Mom, what are you saying and doing here?” 

“I am so relieved to know that my daughter has a heart and she can do something led by heart and not brain. I want to meet the one who did this magic?”

In short, Rano and Mohinder told her that they will handle Khurana’s and society. They were happy that their daughter for once was taking decisions from the heart.

MSK had canceled all classes for next one month due to his busy schedule and session was extended for one month from its ending. Just like other’s Geet as well got the same answer

“I am working on something important”

To Geet, he had pulled her in his arms and gave his typical naughty and meaningful smirk “Have patience and be ready to keep your promise when asked”

“This curiosity is killing me” then she sensually pulled his collars “Take all of myself in exchange of this suspense”  he had placed a kiss on her lips “very tempting offer but I cannot bargain it with your happiness. coz I want to see how you offer yourself to me after that”

“You are a pure business man” “So I am. Looking for better profit” he winked

Thus Geet did not know what he was planning. But as he did not want she did not try to find out. If he wanted to give her a surprise, she would rather wait for it.

On the other side, Dev was going all mad. How could Geet break engagement with him, that too in front of Maanuu. That smirk of that drunkard was not leaving his eyes.

“I will teach that Geet, a lesson”

“You will not do any such thing. She still has that deal with us and we need it” scolded Sanjeev.

“Yes, I don’t think she is going to keep that as well, she has no benefit from us and with no marriage bound she will soon pull away” said worried Ragini

“She has only seen decent Dev. It did not work in our favor. Now she will see the other side of me. I will leave her in such a condition that she will have no option but to marry me. It was a public function, and now the whole world will laugh at me. No way. I will bring her to condition that she will beg to marry me”

“You will not do any such thing Dev. I will not allow” Sanjeev ordered

“She is spoiling my son’s name and we will be ruined if she backs up. Dev is right” Ragini supported Dev

“Ragini, do you understand what he is planning, is going to spoil Khurana’s name as well” 

“And when did you think of Khurana’s Name? Had we thought of Khurana’s name, we would have nothing . Don’t forget Sanjeev, it was in bargain of family name that we are here, and mind it, even you”

“This is not right. There can be other ways and don’t forget, Maanuu will ruin you Dev, if he comes to know wherever you are planning” 

“He will not know anything. I will plan it all on Saturday when he is all drunk. And Dad, your advice is not needed here. Remember all the right and wrong you have done.” Sanjeev, a puppet in hand of Ragini could not say anything as Ragini was supporting Dev. He knew Dev was wrong, but he had lost all his capability for right and wrong when it came to going against Ragini. His own faults were innumerable and uncountable, that Ragini and Dev kept him mum by reminding him of his deed. Though they mostly ignored that all deeds that he had done was for only them. Now he had no option but to be a puppet at their wish.

Geet was not able to meet the professor as classes were canceled and the prof, being one of his own kind, gave her a kiss in return when she asked for his number. When she had made face

“Just a few more days. You will have access to any of my information and full access to me” he had given a meaningful wink, making her blush “You are an idiot” 

“Only for you, whatever you wish to call me” 

She was in her office when she got call from Dev

“Dev?”

“Geet, you broke engagement with me. But I wanted to end it with good notes”

“That’s so nice of you Dev. Thanks for being so understanding.”

“So Geet, with my friends, I am holding a small party at home. It will be close affair, I wanted you to come and let’s end in friendly note”

“Ohh that’s so sweet of you Dev. I will be there.” Geet confirmed.

At Khurana Mansion, First Floor

“Sahab ji, you called me”

“Hmmm… Dev’s fiance broke engagement with him. Place sources to keep watch on their activity. Report to me for any suspect.”

“Will do.”

Saturday Morning: 

“Sahab ji, today there is a party downstairs. Dev and his friends are coming”

“Mr. Khurana and his wife?”

“Sahabji, Annie, Vicky are not in town and your” Maanuu showed him warning eyes for what he was going to speak further

“I mean, Mr. Khurana and his wife, they are going to some friends house”

Maanuu kept thinking. It was definitely something off. Engagement is off, Dev was so upset, naturally. But suddenly all are silent and today he has a party. 

“Get the original guest list.”

It was a party evening on the ground floor of Khurana Mansion. All of Dev’s friends were there. Dev knew that Maanuu would be drowned in bottles of whiskeys by now. He gave instructions to his friends.

Geet came, Dev made her meet all his friends, music started, dance started, everyone started coming in party mood. The drinks and snacks were being served on a tray.

After an hour of party, Geet came to Dev “Dev, i am feeling uneasy”

“Drink plain water Geet” and he gave her glass of water

After drinking that water, Geet started feeling even more unstable 

“Dev, I am not feeling well. I should leave.” Geet felt she was losing control completely.

“Geet come, I will take you for rest”

“No Dev” geet said but she did not have a complete sense of saying No. She was feeling completely restless

Soon she saw her surroundings, it was a bedroom. Even in that condition, Geet felt something was off

“Dev, why am I here” but she felt strengthless

“You are here to do what we would have done after marriage. You broke engagement but we can do this”

“DEV” Geet looked at him horrified. But then her head felt spinning

“No good boy image Geet. You have been too rude and arrogant with this relation. I will show you the real me now. You will be left with no option, but marry me”

and he placed his hand on her shoulder trying to pull off her string

“No Dev, No” she begged as she felt completely out of control, felt strengthless

“You will beg for marriage like this” saying so he pulled her strap and threw her on bed and himself on top of her. He was about to place his lips on hers, Geet closed her eyes and turned her face but soon felt no weight on top of her. She immediately sat and saw Dev was laying on the ground and her professor was standing on top of him, fire in his eyes.

His fist was tight and face was shaking with anger. Geet, whose brain was not working, was surprised to see her prof. and that too this kind of anger in his face.

“Geet” Dev roared as he tried to grab her. Geet ran behind prof. and Dev got a trashing on his face. He then immediately  turned to take Geet in his embrace

“Are you Ok?” he cocooned her

With tears in her eyes, she nodded for no and hugged him tight. 

His eyes then went on Dev and he started thrashing him, leaving Dev almost unconscious

“You cannot call the police '' Dev taunted shamelessly even in that condition, knowing Maanu’s weakness for the Khurana family reputation.

“I will punish you better.” He hit Dev one last time from his leg and took Geet with him

“Geet you don’t know this man. He is a drunkard” he shouted shamelessly. After they left the room, Geet hugged him tight and soon fainted. He took her in his arms and from the back side, took the stairs to his room. He cannot risk Geet’s name coming at stake by any chance. 

It was their old ways, blackmailing people for their reputation. He is still facing the burnt but now no more. The bar of all his patience till date was broken today.

Dev came out looking for them, he thought Maannu sent Geet away.

“Damn that Maanuu” he roared.

Geet opened her eyes with sun rays falling on her eyes. She opened her eyes, to realize a different location. She sat down holding her head which was still heavy. Then she remembered all that had happened and where she was. 

“How dare he” she said with anger. Geet was not a girl to feel pity or victim. She was a strong girl and she knew her professor had saved her. 

Geet looked around to see, she was in the professors' room and bed. But where was he? Smile formed on her face, she was in his protective care, when she had no sense. Why and how she knew, in her condition, all he would have done was to protect her. And then there he was, with glass in his hand coming to her. He sat beside her

“I am sorry” he had pain and regret in his eyes. He forwarded a glass of lemon water to her, not being able to meet her eyes. 

Geet herself was filled with rage that Dev had placed himself on top of her, though it was just for a few moments. But she was an emotionally strong girl and the professor was an emotionally vulnerable person, she knew that. 

Geet could not bear this shame in his eyes for his own self. She placed her hand on his cheek and made him look at her. 

“You protected me. I am fine”

“How could I be late and he laid his hand on you. I failed. I am never able to save my loved ones” Ohh God! What this man was, Geet always saw something different in him when she felt she had known him.

“He touched you” he muttered and the tightening of his fists showed how he was controlling his overflowing anger.

“You are my protector and I know now, no one can hurt me, ever. You won’t let anyone hurt me.” She came forward and kissed him. He hesitated first due to shame but Geet did not leave, she cannot let him drown in more pain due to her. He was an emotional person and was already in some deep pain, she cannot let him drown in any more pain. Geet kept deepening her kiss and slowly brought the desire in him and he kissed her back with the same passion. It was mixed with pain and anger. He poured them all.

She then showed him her big eyes “I am fine and dare you make me feel like a victim. I want you exactly the way you are with me, got it” he smiled and obeyed.

“But I have to file a police complaint against him” She declared. These were the reasons she inspired him, complete up front.

“You can, but can you give me an opportunity to give him a bigger punishment first. I was thinking of being soft on him but now no more”

“What do you want to do?”

“Something that you will enjoy. I will show him his destruction in front of his eyes, piece by piece” Geet could see the hatred in his eyes. Now she could feel why Prof. hated Dev so much.

“I know nothing but why I feel he is he is a bigger culprit of yours than mine. I will give you a chance to take your revenge. I want to enjoy his destruction at your hand first. Geet Handa is not a naive soft girl, he will know”

“He is not my real culprit, he does not hold that power. But he is product of my culprit and much more a leech. But you have all right to send  him to jail. There are many more things for which you can send him to jail. But give me some time to deal my way”  Geet could feel there was much much more than she was seeing. Prof. has saved her big time by compelling her to pull back from this relationship.

She suddenly came to him and hugged him tight. He slightly separated her “What happened?”

“nothing” she pinched his nose with slight tears in her eyes. More than her own self, she was loaded with the feeling, how alone he was in this world but now she is there and she will never leave him alone now.

“Come, I will drop you home” He had locked Dev in a room and the rest were out of town. He will deal with all later but now needs to drop her.

“I will go, Prof.” “No, not today” he simply ordered and she smiled and followed him.

He was driving and Geet was simply looking at him, all lost.
