Chapter 18

Suddenly the full party's chatting stopped as an olderly  woman voice rang into the party. It was Commisioner's wife !!!

 

 

Balam pichkari jo tune mujhe maari
Toh bole re zamana kharabi ho gayi
Mere ang raja, jo tera rang laga
Toh seedhi-saadi chhori sharabi ho gayi

 

 

Everyone looked at each other in shocked, their mouth was open. Then everyone burst into laughter. Riya looked helplessly as the caterer guys started to serve the cold drinks to everyone, adding to the madness.

 

Shaina was continued her drinking session, while a confused Sameeer tried to stop her. He was sure now that something is terribly wrong, and may be the masterplaner was herself fell into her trap. Full tally mode, Shai started to sang

Itna maza, kyun aa raha hai
Tune hawa mein bhaang milaya

Sameer took away her cold drink glass while she pouted and tried to snatch it , like a small kid. He sang

While (trying ) to control her

Ho teri malmal ki kurti gulabi ho gayi
Manchali chaal kaise nawaabi ho gayi, toh?

Now everyone in the party was full tally. They all started to sing and dance

Now, the cherry on cake, Arjun Suryakant Rawte himself jumped into the scene to enjoy (I suppose). He choose his first target, an helpless and worried Riya and  went towards her. She was shocked that he was approaching her and decided to run, but with not so luck, as he has grabbed her wrist

 

Teri kalaai hai, haathon mein aayi hai
Maine maroda toh lagti malaai hai

She tried to free herself. She was really embarrassed as well as angry with him for behaving like this. She threatened him

 

Mehenga padega ye chaska malaai ka
Upvaas karne mein teri bhalaai hai

But  I guess Arjun was not in a mood for back off. He came closer to her , so close that Riya can feel his breath on her face.she continued to stare at those coal black eyes, who were not leaving her for a moment.

Ho bindiya teri mehtaabi ho gayi
Dil ke armaanon mein behisaabi ho gayi

She closed her eyes due to this new sensation and Arjun took a handful of pink gulaal in his hand from the nearby table and rubbed it to her cheek very softly. She quickly opened her eyes in shock and saw that Arjun was staring at her ,with some unknown emotion in his eyes.

Here, our bechara Shree tried to keep the cold drink glass away from puja, but she was not in a mood . she tried to snatch it , but failing everytime

Kyun 'no-vacancy' ki, hothon pe gaali hai
Jabki tere dil ka kamra toh khaali hai
(kamra toh khaali hai...)

 

She grabbed shree by his kurta's coller and looked directly into his eyes

Mujhko pata hai re
Kya chahata hai tu
Boli bhajan teri
Neeyat Qawwali hai

Here, chotu was recording her 11/30 waali with his phone. He sang to himself

Zulmi ye haazir-jawaabi ho gayi
Tu toh har taale ki aaj chaabi ho gayi, toh?

Now everyone in the party started to sing and dance, including Chotu, Rathore, Shaina, her drunk mother , her father, shree and puja. Ariya was still lost in each other's eyes.

Then started the real madness. Everyone threw colour in the air, then ran to each other like maniacs and rubbing colours. Laughter, annoyance, yelling of happiness  and more laughter echoed in the party.

 

After some hours, the team ETF were busy to handle some drunkers.

Bechara Sameer and Commisioner was handling Shaina, Puja and their mom.

Shree had to handle chotu as during celebration and due to over happiness (as he has seen his 11.30 waali) he drank that bhang wala cold drink.

Riya had to handle Arjun, who was staring intensely at her, making her shy and self conscious.

 

Rathore took Shaina in her Bedroom.but before they could enter her bedroom, she started to shout.

''oh god, kitna paani hain!!! Main doob jaoongi, Sammy. Please, help me.'' She said in a scared tone.

Sameer tried many times to convince her that there is no water, but she didnt listen.finally he took her in his arms and entered the room.he put her on bed, and covered her with blanket.she stared at him silently, while Sameer smiled at her and said, ''sleep, Shai.''

He turned to go back when he felt someone has hold his hand.he turned and saw Shaina is staring at him with some unknown emotion.

Well, not unknown.he knows exactly what was in those black eyes and what was his place in her heart.for her, he was much more than a bff.she LOVED him.

''I love you Sammy.'' She whispered.

Sameer knew that  was coming.one day, she would have declared her love for him.he have seen it many times in her eyes, but had nt gathered enough courage to face it.

He sighed in defeat and whispered, ''I know.''

She was surprised.her eyelids were almost closed, but she forced them  open.

''do you love me?'' she asked innocently.

Sameer took her hand, and placed it gently on her stomach. He ran his fingers in her hair and whispered, ''I don't know, but you mean a lot to me.''

She smiled, like she has won some jackpot. At last, she closed her eyes and went into deep sleep.

 

Riya had took the incredible job to drop Arjun in his lodge. She took the address from Rathore, and with the help of some people in the party, help him settled in the car.she started to drive to the lodge's direction.

Suddenly, Arjun started to yell, ''dheere, dheere, kitna fast gadi chala rahi ho tum'..slow'''

She looked at him like he has become full mad. She never drives above 50kmph. She rolled her eyes and said, ''you are really drunk. Aur gaadi slow hi hain, aap ko fast lag rahi hain.''

Arjun looked at her like he does'nt recognize her. Then he took his head outside the car and started to yell to the persons walking on the road, ''help !! bachaao !!! she is kidnapping me.''

Riya looked at him shockingly, now clearly pissed.she cursed herself to help him drop at his lodge. She hold his shoulder and tried to took him inside, ''what the hell !!! kar kya rahe ho aap??? Sad (head) ko andar laiyye.''

But he was in no mood for obeying her. She suddenly stopped the car and looked at him directly, ''ab chup chap baithe rahiye. Bilkul chup. Agar kuch bhi aisi waisi harkat kin a, to raste mein chor ke chali jaoongi. Samjhey ya samjhaoon?''

He , like a small kid, placed his finger on his lips and repeated, ''chup, bilkul chup.shhh''

Riya chuckled as she looked at him and realized she just used his dialogue on him.and the halat of him, it was more childish than zeenia's behavior, she thought. She again started to drive the car.

The rest of the journey, arjun was quite. He only looked outside the car and sang a song

Tujhse naraj nahi zindagi hairan hoon main, hoo hairan hoon main

Tere masoom sawalon se, pareshaan hoon main, hoo pareshaan hoon main

Jeene ke liye'..hmmm hmmm'.

Seems like he cant remember the rest of the song. Riya sang that part to herself.

Jeene ke liye, socha hi nahi, dard sambhalne honge.

Muskuraye to, muskuraane ke karz utarne honge.

 

Arjun looked at her surprised, with a small smirk at his lips. Riya was happily shocked to see him smirking. She cant remember if he had smiled earlier. Happily, he sang the rest part'humming to himself

Muskuraoon kabhi, to lagta hain

Jaise honton pe karz rakha hain.

Tujhse naraj nahi zindagi hairan hoon main, hoo hairan hoon main.

 

 

''yeh Roshni ka favourite gaana tha.'' He said , like there was none around him. He closed his eyes in immense pain, and whispered ''I miss you.'' Then again, he hummed the song

Riya felt a sudden pain in her heart. The look in his face and the pain in his tone were similar to what she feels everyday. Before she can think of anything, his lodge came.

With the help of lodge manager, she took Arjun to his room. She covered him with a blanket and left him with the tone still humming.

 

 

After reaching her home, Riya went directly into her room to clean herself.she thought to charge her phone, when she found that her phone was replaced with Chotu's phone.

''Great'' she muttered annoyingly, and went to shower.

Cool water fell on her body, and she remembered everything that happened to the holi party.the idea of mixing bhang, the dance, the video, Arjun's behavior''she remembered him putting colour on her cheek and opened her eyes hurriedly.

After shower, she found herself staring shockingly at the mirror.the rest of the colour was gone from her body, but her left cheek was still pink with gulaal. That cheek where Arjun'.

"'daijaan !!!!'' she shouted, hoping to found some nushkha from her  to remove it.
