“Too much of a hurry?” he demanded with a half smile, she had asked Jai to get the door he “did not hear it” he said when the bell rang

He had been pestering her about the Lego some Mandalorian Imperial Light Cruiser (a weapon? She did not know she knew she had to fight with him tho) he had built at Aatreya’s

He was showered, shaved and wearing jeans and a white vest and a check shirt left unbutonned

It was beginning to rain outside

“I was there to pick him up” she said mortified

She had come home and transformed into a sultry seductress, in the burnished gold sleep suit, and blow dried her hair and wore makeup all while fixing dinner

Jai was tired and didn’t notice much, he didn’t even look up from his anime comic he seemed to have gotten today from Aatreya

She had so many things to fight over!

Too much stuff, sending him home with his new squeeze

She admired her reflection multiple times, swinging to her favorite Billboard hits from 10 years ago

She pursed her lips to hide the freshy applied lipstick

“Umm” resisting the natural compulsion to look at him

Cursing her love for expensive underwear, choosing o wear the sheer lacy b—underneath

“What did you want?” she asked trying to cross her arms across her torse

“Stupid!” she cursed herself mentally

“Umm.. if I can come in?”

“Why?” she panicked

“Umm to see Jaidrith” he said firmly, as the front door of the neighbor went kee-kee-krr—kee

“He is in the shower” she mumbled

Jai “did not hear” the front door bell ring, but was leaping toward the door hoping to see his “friends” his face lit up upon seeing Atty

But heard Kirti Sahasre unbolt HER door

“Shower?”

She had visions of the lean wiry amoral body nude and soaped up in HER shower

“Great” she muttered softly, unbolting her door nervously

Kirti watched her in horror

“She must think I am a h---er”

Aatreya wanted to ask “Expecting someone”

Then decided it was none of his business

“Out of the shower already?” he mocked his son

“Did u bring it?” “Did u bring it? Did u bring it?” Dhru jumped

“I think so” he winked and kneeled by him and pulled out what looked like a Lego aircraft of some sort

“If it is violent we cannot have it at home” she spoke primly

“And you should not be sending him with your girlfriend, I don’t know her I don’t trust her”

“And do not buy him any more books”

She tried to blunt the effect of Dhruv’s joy and her own odd night outfit

Aatreya’s gaze didn’t leave hers “Jaidrith, just go fix it up for me will you? I forgot” he muttered wickedly handing him a box of remaining pieces “I need to speak with your Mum” he whispered

Jai flew back into the bedroom

He approached her slowly

“We don’t want war toys it teaches violence” she shouted

“It’s a space shuttle Mrunalini”

Kirti was OUTSIDE staring

He gently moved to the door and shut it

When he was focus on a task she realized he didn’t look half as threatening to her peace of mind when he did when he was looking straight at her

“NOW” he smiled

She was off mentally imagining a full blooded seduction

His sun warmed (from his wonderful offsite picnic) naked torso clinging and rubbing in delicious friction against her satiny night clothes, she would wickedly move against him listening o his frank open growls of enjoyment, her pleasure clouded brain giggling at his open roar ordering her to abandon her reservations

“What?” she asked daze

He had no idea where her mind was… in his pants and he did not know it

“You think I will encourage violence?”

“I don’t know you… so” she mumbled unsure, not so sure now

“It’s a space shuttle, people fly out of the earth in it” he muttered

“OK” her usual bland “Whatever” reaction

“What was the next accusation?” “Yes, not let him ride with Shy… Shyamal” “Did he say he rode alone?”

“NO SHE ADMITTED” Mrunal was gleeful

He smiled

“I rode with her”

“WHO drove YOUR car?” she demanded

“A coworker”

“OK” she lowered her gaze

“Then the last and final one… no more books?”

“YES” she was confident this was a winner

“No Mrunalini, I will continue to buy him books”

“Umm.. I” she began readying for a fight

Jai appeared flying the spaceshuttle, his body slanted his arms outstretched “I DID IT”

“Wheeeeeeeeeee” he went in between them, opened the door hoping to see the lil rascals out there

“Dhruuu” she warned

“Do you ever call his name with love?” he laughed

“I DO” she accused

“OK good” he taunted

“Ive never heard it” he shrugged

“You wouldn’t,” she said smugly

He laughed out loud

“Dhruuu… uniform backpack, udhyasathi vyavastha kara” (set everything up)

“AAi RAVI VAAAR aahe” he laughed, wheeing into the bedroom

“I rest my case (you are always yelling at him)” Aatreya whispered mischievously

“Are you going now?” she demanded

“I could” he smiled not moving

She moved sideways and left him standing in the living room

She returned 10 minutes later to the bedroom, he was saying his goodnights

“Can I go to his house tomorrow?” Jaidrith asked earnestly

“Another picnic?” she asked sarcastically

He shoved lazy fingers through his hair flicking it back

“Sure! Why not?” he smiled unfazed

“Go to hell” she thought returning to the kitchen

“Bye” he peeked and waved a minute later found her staring at a WALL!
