Part 3- Jab We Met

Raavi was the first one to get up in the morning. She opened hers eyes and saw him sleeping facing towards her. She smiled widely and caressed his face.

Their childhood memories came flooding back to her. She was 10 and Shiva 12 when Raavi had missed her school bus. It was her exam that day and she did not have it in her to go tell her maasimaa about it since she was already upset that Raavi took long to get ready. She ran towards Pandya House. She knew Shiva was home. She had heard from maasimaa in the morning. She entered the house and stared at him.

“Kya hua Raavi?” He asked coughing since he wasn’t well

“Oh teri tabyat karab hai issliye tu school nai gaya?” Raavi asked her eyes already wet

“Haa par tu bata kya hua?”

“Meri bus choot gai.” She hugged him and cried

He wiped her tears and took her hand in his. He took out his cycle and made her sit ahead. He dropped her to school just in time. Raavi smiled widely at him and ran towards the exam hall. Once she got done, she was walking towards the bus to see Shiva waiting for her.

“Tu yahan ab tak? Teri tabyat?”

“Mai theek hoon. Teri exam kaisi thi?”

“Achi thi. Thank you.” She smiled and sat in front of him again on his cycle

“Bus se hi chali jaa. Jaldi pauch jayegi.”

“Muje koi jaldi nai hai.” She smiled and he smiled back. They went back home talking about Raavi’s exam.

Raavi controlled a sob as she remembered their childhood.

“Hamesha se tu hi tha.” She smiled in tears

Shiva woke up to see her that way and got worked up.

“Kya hua Raavi?”

“Kuch nai. Bas hamara bachpan yaad aa gaya.” She smiled in tears

“Ki hum kaise ladte the?” He chucked

“Nai tu kaise mera kyaal rakhta tha.”

Shiva was surprised. He didn’t think she remembered their good times together. After his fathers death, he had distanced her from him and the rest of the story was known to whole of Somnath.

“Tuje yaad hai?” He managed to say

“Haa.”

She took his hand and pulled it to her chest holding it tightly.

“Tuje yaad hai Shiva tu muje exam pe chodne aaya tha? Kya cutely mera wait bhi kiya tha.” She smiled dreamily

“Haa. Tu itna royi ghar aake mai darr gaya tha.” He said as he stared her it as she pushed his hand towards herself intimately.

“I’m sorry maine aise tera haath keech liya.” She blushed and loosened her grip

“Koi baat nai.” He smiled and she held his hand tightly again

“Tuje yaad hai tuition mein kisine muje chidaya aur tune uski pitai kardi thi” she giggled

“Haa kyunki tu rote rote mere paas aa gayi thi. Waise ye harr barr rote rote tu mere paas kyu aa jati thi?”

“Kyunki tu mera comfort tha aur aaj bhi hai. Tuje yaad hai jab maa papa muje chod ke chale gaye the tu 2 din mere ghar ruk gaya tha. Ghar jane ke baad bhi roz milne aata tha.”

“Hmm.”

“Tu hamesha se aisa hi tha na. Sab karega par bolega nai.”

“Aaj bachpan bada yaad aa rha hai?”

“Nai. Aaj mehsus ho rha hai ki hamesha se tu mere liye tha aur mai tere liye.”

They talked about their childhood memories till  afternoon and then made their way down for lunch. Shiva had to meet one of the vendors nearby so Raavi stopped by the shopping area nearly and bought things for the family. Shiva was done after 2 hours and met Raavi near the shops. They carried the stuff to the room and sat on the bed exhausted.

“Kaisi rahi meeting?”

“Aache bhav hai par ek aur vendor se milna hai phir decide karenge.”

“Chalo aacha hai.”

“Aaj ki movie mai decide karu?”

Raavi looked at him surprised. She almost forgot about the films. She nodded at him.

“Jab We Met”

Raavi blushed as the first scene which came to her mind for the last scene where Geet runs to Aditya and kisses him.

“Theek hai.”

“Chal jaldi fresh hoja.”

Raavi huffed. Why were they both never on the same page!

Shiva had bought her to Marine drive again. He had asked her to wait and gone somewhere. Raavi enjoyed the view and also wished Shiva came quickly.

She saw Shiva coming towards her on a cycle. She was in awe! He did a two in one here. He was picking this from Jab We Met and also from their childhood. He smiled looking at her enthusiasm and signalled her to hop on. She pushed him back and sat ahead.

They rode the cycle around that area. Raavi loved water and Shiva knew it. Shiva brushed his head with hers and she looked at him enthusiastically. She placed a kiss on his cheek and continued to look ahead enjoying the ride. This was so much different. She had sat with Shiva on bikes and cycles a lot but this time he was her husband. She had feelings for him. Him being in such a close proximity gave her so much pleasure. Oh she so wished to just turn and claim his lips. Raavi giggled internally at her thoughts.

They gave away the cycle after a bit and roamed around the shopping area. Shiva was extremely patient with her. He was sure only Raavi could get this side out of him. Around evening they reached the hotel and attacked the buffet.

“Aye bhukkad” Raavi teased

“Tu toh bol hi mat.” Shiva said eyeing her plate

Shiva and Raavi were free. They were free from all the expectations of the family. Finally they were themselves. They chatted a lot while eating. Today they had a lot of nostalgia. They couldn’t stop talking about how they were as kids. From Shiva beating up people for her to Raavi creating andolon for Shiva’s chole. In this very moment, both were happy and content.

They reached the room around 9ish after playing some table tennis in the lobby. The day had gone by so quick they didn’t even realise. Shiva and Raavi took turns and got changed. Shiva wanted to order some snacks and keep if they got hungry later so he was on call with the staff when Raavi crashed into his arms.

“Kya hua?” Shiva asked surprised as he kept the phone

“Thank you, Shiva. Ye jo tu yahan jab se aaya hai. Tera attention, tera care aur sabse important mera purana Shiva vapas aa gaya hai. Mai bahut khush hoon. Itni ki lag rha hai ki ye sapna hai. Aur agar ye sapna hai toh mai uthna nai chahti.”

“Yaad hai bachpan mein bhi aise aake mujse lipat gai thi jab dance mein prize jeeta tha.”

“Haa” she giggled hugging him tighter

“Aur maine tuje barosa dilane ke liye chimpti kaati thi.” He smirked

“Haa kitni zor se.”

“Ab toh hum bade ho gaye hai.”

“Hmm”

“Soch raha hoon ki Jab We Met ka ek aur scene kar loon.” He said as his grip on her grew tighter and his hands explored her back

“Shivaaaa” She managed to say unable to handle the pleasure

“Raavi kya mai..” before he could continue she nuzzled his nape and started leaving soft kisses there.

This gave Shiva the required affirmation and he too followed her. Her hands making way inside his vest while his hovering all over her body. She pushed herself more into him making him fall on the nearby side table. Shiva’s hands immediately went to the table to support them. Unable to resist, he got his one hand to Raavi again.  She pulled back staring at him intently. They both knew they needed it. Raavi placed her head on his and Shiva closed his eyes in anticipation. She was about to close the distance when they heard the door bell.

They were suddenly bought back to reality. It was almost like someone had thrown a bucket full of cold water on them. They moved away slightly awkward and Shiva opened the door cursing himself for ordering snacks. He placed the snacks on the table and moved to the bed where Raavi was already sleeping facing him.

He slipped beside her facing her. She smiled at him and he smiled back. She caught onto his arms again and he happily took her in his arms. They knew tonight they were at peace.
