Bird in a Cage

I feel suffocated,

Just like a bird in the cage.

But here the cage is within me,

Which I now want to leave. 

My body is different,

and very different from what I feel

and what I want to be.

But I don't think I will be able to explain, 

My agony and my pain.

Covered myself with everything 

From bandages to sweaters,

Even in the heat.

So I look like what I want to feel.

And no one will stop me from being me.

Right now they don't understand 

They are still stuck to two.

So did I, until I realised.

Now they need time,

And so do I,

To gather strength and explain.

And once they are ready,

I will come out to them.

I will explain them, who I am 

And what I want to be.

But till then will look at the sky,

And dream to fly.
