Roli and Sid occupied their respective seats as Sid started driving.
"Seems like you're eating almonds daily, you're not forgetting to wait for me now" roli spoke up wit a giggle, breaking the silence in car.
"I think you should start having them now" said Sid, continuing his driving.
"My memory power is far better than you" roli replied with a pride.
"Buy you always forget to do what I said" Sid said, turning at her.
"Oh what I forgot now?" She asked, crossing her arms across her chest, looking at him.
"To shut your mouth when you're with me" answered Sid, turning his attention towards road. It has to be mentioned that she can talk like hours continuously which Sid wasn't interested in. And he had said a lot of times to her to keep quiet whenever she would be with him but it was something which she can't do.
She was about to speak "zip.. lock" Sid said showing his fingers as locking his lips. Roli, with a pout turned her face to see outside.
Roli was feeling bored with the silence occupied in car so she switched the radio on. After a couple of minutes, Sid turned it off, only to make roli pissed off.
"What's your problem?" Bursted roli, annoyed.
"I want silence" Sid answered, casually.
"You just decide what you want, this music or should I keep talking" she said, much in a threatening manner.
"Songs are much better than your talks" saying Sid turned on the music again. Roli glared him for his taunting.
Next few minutes went peacefully as roli was engaged in listening songs whilst Sid was busy in driving. Roli, remembering something, swiftly turned towards Sid and looking at him with a question mark face.
"Why you're looking at me like that?" Sid finally asked as she continued to look at him without saying anything.
"I'm just thinking that how stupid people could be" she said, still looking at him.
"You.." Sid showed his index finger with a glare.
"No, no, I'm not saying about you.." roli held his hand and kept it down while he turned his head towards steering, with a stern face. "..actually today morning a girl in our college came to me. She was saying that she loves you and want my help in saying it to you. But I'm so confused, like why anyone would want to love such a kadoos guy like you" she continued her blabbering whilst Sid stopped the car with a jerk as she mentioned the word 'kadoos'.
As Sid stopped the car suddenly, roli looking at him with a jerk and found him with a killer glare at her. She then realized what all she was blabbering a while ago. She smiled sheepishly, biting her tongue and for her fate they reached home. As if escaping from him, she rushed inside the house.
"Uff.. roli you should really need to control your tongue in front of him" she mumbled to herself as she settled on her bed, reaching her room.
Later hours passed as usual. At night around 7, Sid returned home and thrown himself on sofa in hall, playing with his mobile.
"Really it was super delicious" Sid heard roli's voice and saw her coming out of kitchen along with his mom. When roli turned her attention, she found Sid with a glare. She rolled her eyes and looked away to avoid his glare.
"Is it? But this idiot won't like it" said Sujata, looking at Sid.
"It's okay, maa. Everybody can't have good taste, right?" Roli said in a teasing tone which added like fuel to fire for Sid.
"You mean my taste is bad" saying Sid, reached them.
"Then who won't like to have carrot halwa" said roli with an expression like she was praising it.
"I won't like sweets so what?" "You can't sound sweet too" roli quickly replied whilst Sujata was giggling at their cat fight.
"You just.." Sid was interrupted by Sujata. "Instead of fighting always, why don't you both make friendship with eachother" said Sujata as she was seeing them only fighting all the time.
"No way" Sid denied quickly, making roli to glare him with a pout.
"Okay, but don't fight atleast" Sujata said in almost pleading tone to stop their cat war which was being regular these days.
"Maa is saying that's why I'm stopping" accepted roli to sujata's words.
"Oh acting like a good girl in front of my mom" taunted Sid, seeing her politeness which she never used to be with him.
"She's my maa too" replied roli with full rights, like a kid.
"She's only my maa, you can go and call your mom as maa" splitted out Sid without knowing the fact of her mother's death.
"Siddanth" called sujata with angry face, to stop him talking any further. He was bit surprised to see his mom's anger suddenly and when he turned to roli, he noticed her eyes getting moist. He got even more confused as roli rushed from there with a teary eyes
"Can't you think before talking anything" scolded sujata.
"What I said now?" Asked Sid, confused.
"Roli's mother is not there in this world" said sujata with moist eyes and went from there. Sid, with a guilty heart, moved towards his room.
Later he didn't see roli as sujata herself went into roli's room and fed her dinner. But he was really feeling bad for hurting her. At late night, he was walking in his room from one corner to another in a restless state. He wanted to go to her to apologize but his ego wasn't letting him to accept his mistake. Following his mind, he laid down on his bed to sleep but the moment he closed his eyes, her teary eyes were flashing in front of him, making his heart heavy. He got up, rubbing his eyes, not knowing what to do.
At last, keeping his ego at side, he moved towards roli's room. But an empty room welcomed him.
"Where she might have gone in this untime" he mumbled, worriedly and went to search for her in kitchen. But there too, he didn't find her. He scanned whole bungalow, but found her nowhere. At last, with a hope of finding her, he reached terrace.
He let out a sigh of relief, seeing her standing near terrace wall, looking up at moon. He went and stood beside her. As she was totally lost in her thoughts, didn't realize his presence. Her cheeks were still wet, indicating that she was still crying.
"Missing your mom?" Asked Sid, looking at moon whilst roli was brought back from her thoughts.
She wiped her tears and kept silent. Sid looked at her, don't know why he was feeling it but, for the first time he was waiting for her to talk something. He couldn't figure out the actual reason but he just unable to bear her silence. Knowingly or unknowingly, his hand reached her hand, which was kept on railing and placed his hand over hers'. She looked at him, surprisingly. Their eyes got locked at the very moment, making them lost in eachother. Their hands got intertwined while they both turned towards eachother, even without their own knowledge. Sid took his hand upto her face and wiped off a fresh tear, escaping her eyes. It felt like heaven for roli as she felt his touch on her soft skin.
Roli was completely lost in his dark orbs whereas sid's state was not so different. His hand was caressing her cheeks, sending tickling inside her stomach.
They stood like that for minutes, being lost in their own world. After a while, roli, finally getting grip on her senses, looked down with a blush. As she broke the eyelock, Sid too got back to his consciousness and took his hand back.
Next few moments went with silence as they both were looking away from the other in embarrassment.
"Hmm.. sorry" Sid collected his courage to speak up finally.
Roli looked at him, amused. She wasn't expecting him to apologize, which he normally not used to.
"What?" She asked, a bit surprised. And thought not to miss this chance to tease him.
"I didn't hear it properly" she continued, making a puppy face.
Sid rolled his eyes and looked away. He doesn't like to say sorry to anyone atleast for once and here she was making him to say it again.
"Tell na.. what you've just said now" roli encouraged, controling her smile.
"Okay.." Sid sighed. "I'm sorry" he apologized again, closing his eyes.
"It's.. okay.." stressed roli, nodding her head in a teasing way and looked up at moon with a smile on her lips.
"How cute her smile is" his heart whispered amongst it's beats. His lips too curved, seeing her pleasant smile.
"Keep smiling like this" his heart let out the words, avoiding his mind which was holding them inside.
Now it's definitely made roli shocked. She turned her head at his direction with a widened eyes. As soon as she looked at him, she received one more shock.
His smile! How cute it is, she blinked her eyes in surprise.
"Once pinch me" she asked in surprise.
"Why?" Sid replied, confused.
"You're smiling! I thought you don't know to smile so I'm not sure whether it's my dream or real" said roli, rolling her eyes and controling her smile. Sid glared at her comment, keeping his hands on his either sides of waist.
"So.. you came for me" asked roli, anxiously looking into his eyes. Some spark hit him as he looked into her eyes, his heart shouted 'yes' but his head nodded as 'no' which made roli to pout.
"Are you planning to stay whole night here?" Said Sid, sarcastically, brushing off his smile on seeing her pout.
"It's too late already" he continued as he turned and started taking steps forward. While she stood behind with a smile.
"Will you come inside or shall I lock the door?" Asked Sid, as he reached the terrace door and found roli still standing on terrace.
With a fake angry glare, she moved from there.
"Good night" she wished as he locked the door and turned to go.
"Go and sleep" he replied without turning to her side, continued to walk towards his room.
Roli smiled at him and left to her room. But her heart and mind was filled with Sid's smile, making her feel butterflies in her stomach.
