Chapter 2:
"Hell is empty and all the demons are right here on this earth"
Rudra arrived at his house at last. It had been a long drive home, almost an hour due to the freeway traffic. His home was located in a quaint suburb area of California. The night stars were twinkling in the sky and the view of the city looked mesmeric at night from the hill top. Rudra quietly walked into his house. It was past midnight so his brother would be asleep right now or so he thought.
What he didn't expect as he walked inside to see was Vanraj Singh in the middle of their massive living room. Their father. The same person who was responsible for the seperation of Rudra's love.
"You're home son finally" Vanraj said standing up.
"Why do you care and what are you doing in my property?" Rudra asked sounding absoultely annoyed.
"Now Now Rudra, that's not how you talk to your father is it?" Vanraj said
"WHAT DO YOU WANT MR SINGH?" Rudra screamed
"Calm down Rudra, your mother and brother are sleeping" Vanraj said.
"Seriously what do you want? Have you not had enough ruining my life already?" Rudra said with venom in his voice.
"Rudra, I just wanted to talk to you about quiting whatever show biz your doing and joining our family business" Vanraj said.
"How about NO?" Rudra said
Rudra hated his so called family business. It was more like a gang business where they extracted money from the people who borrowed them and if they couldnt pay beat them up. They looted people, destroying lives. Some were kept hostage. He hated his so called father for it. His actions was disgusting. His father being the so called DON could do anything within his power to shake people up...Rudra knew this bitter truth only too well...It was more like money laundering, an illegal crime. Rudra had wanted to expose this many times, except that everytime he attempted, nothing seemed to work on his favour. He didnt understand how his own mother dealt with this.
"Rudra you don't want to say No now do you?" Vanraj tsked at Rudra
"I CAN AND I WILL "DAD", I AM A GROWN UP MAN WITH A SUCCESSFUL CAREER..." Rudra said
"Rudra you just don't understand do you? You remember what happen five years ago right?, what if I find her again?" Vanraj said taunting Rudra.
That made Rudra more angry. A part of him wanted to punch Vanraj but Rudra knew better than to react.
"No matter what you say "dad" I will never join your illegal business, I have built a career out of my own hard work, dont you destroy it" Rudra said.
"Son, I am not here to destroy you but pass you on the family legacy" Vanraj said
"MR SINGH, I DON'T WANT TO HEAR IT, I AM TOO TIRED! plus you have invaded my home without my permission with "mother", who isnt even my "mother", I hope that you leave first thing tomorrow. I am too tired!" Rudra said
And with that Rudra left with Vanraj smirking to himself. He knew how to control his son...He knew how to get Rudra on his side. Rudra had the brains, his ample influence would come in handy Vanraj thought...
This was just a beginning to a new hell....
Next Morning:
Rudra was woken up once again but this time it was his phone. He sighed checking the time. It was 7:30am. He needed to get ready for final rehersals today.
He was looking forward to the final preparations.
Getting up, he quickly showered and got ready to head down for breakfast.
Downstairs it seemed quiet. Rudra just grabbed granola bar and an apple before heading towards the door. He didn't have the energy to deal with anyone especially after the encounter with his "father".
It seemed like luck was on his side today. He quietly walked out the door, not wanting to disturb anyone. He grabbed the car keys from the outdoor key cabinet before driving off on his tesla. He was headed to his studio now, his only haven century.
